  1. if someone is not a serious shooter is their opinion not valid?
  2. Mark are you doing this using only powder and ball? Or are you using a filler as well like corn meal? I am pretty sure I read somewhere to not use a lubed wad as it may contaminate the powder. looking forward to pics
  3. I heard this talked about on Neal Boortz IIRC. The rest of it sounds pretty far fetched. 4am kidnappings, too many people to grab them all at 4am. Some of what the guy writes is plausible. But then my tinfoil hat is wrapped tight.

    Rifleman

Wow TDR you answered every question I ever had about that rifle. Pretty freakin cool!! Did you write that? I admit I have tried spinning my Henry but I guess my arms are not long enough or my technique sucks. The rifle tip hits me in the shoulder. Another inch or two longer in the arms and I could do it. I have seen about all the episodes and never noticed the set screw which hits the trigger. I will watch closer next time. I wonder how hard it would be to put one on my .22? With him being ambidextrous and a natural athlete it probably was not too awful difficult for him to master the rifle.

    Rifleman

Probably most guys here near my age have watched episodes of the TV show The Rifleman. Pretty entertaining show. Chuck Conners was a pretty fair baseball player back in the day and actually was a LA Dodger until he chose acting. Anyway I am wondering about his rifle in the TV show. Anyone know what kind and caliber it was? How about the rapid fire ability he had with it. I have seen episodes that reference the "firing ring" on that rifle. Is the way it fired strictly TV stuff or can a lever action rifle be made to fire in that rapid fire manner? Just wondering
  7. this from Wiki about lead in a polygonal barrel
  8. warbird now you hit on something. This then must be the reason for the higher price of a Glock than a certain knock off Glock. Is the polygonal rifling a couple of hundred dollars higher in expense to make? I am gonna google it but does anyone have an illustration of polygonal rifling? never mind, found a illustration at the first site google brought up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polygonal_rifling
  9. Natosha says I always thought today was to honor ones own mother, which includes grandmothers, Hallmark has made it into a honor all mothers day. Anyway in interest of peace I went to the store this morning and bought a nice hanging basket of some sort of flowers each for my wife, my mother inlaw and my daughter. Mom still just gets a phone call LOL Oh and Happy Mothers Day to all you Mothers out there.
  10. Awful long post for someone who cares less.
  11. the difference is that I do not anticipate the cop to be speaking to me the passenger if i am in a vehicle stopped for some traffic violation. The biggest reason I would willingly allow the police to trample my rights and all by handing my HCP over with my license is that from what I read on any message board dealing with this topic is that the driver gets let go without a ticket. Heck if I can not get a ticket just by telling the cop I am carrying and have a permit I am doing just that.
  12. there is no such thing when it comes to plugging a product, sometimes coincidences are just that but not in this case. Every word they say in these types of matters is scripted and gone over in the pre race meeting.
  13. does the polygonal rifling impart spin on the bullet? Why can't the bullet be lead?
  14. I was watching it a while ago, they were talking about the 28 car and how it resembles a car from the 60's. Actually pretty interesting NASCAR history stuff. Then one of the announcers said something to the effect, " Go and drive a Ford Today" A freeaking commercial is all it was, had nothing to do with respecting the past. I turned it off. I swear I am done with it until it is off Fox and on another network.
  15. I am not sure how to take that. :-\ I read similar statement in obit's about people being going home to Jesus. I think I might need to switch back to the semi auto.
  16. Sounds like you are all over it.
  17. she ain't your mother.
  18. What is your squirell rifle? I think between us with 6 revolvers we have it covered. It will be a regular old smoke screen fer sure.
  19. the one I shot today was the first handgun I ever bought. It is about 30 years old. That in itself is not an issue but the trigger on it is an issue. I would not dare allow anyone else to shoot that revolver. I tell you, when the hammer is cocked look at it crossways or breath on it and it will discharge. It simply would not be safe. I will not even shoot it if there is anyone else around. I will be bringing three percussion revolvers.
  20. they lied to me on the phone 7:20 came and went and no green flag Maybe I will try back after 8 pm.
  21. thanks for the offer Mark, If I can't get more I might take you up on that. Hopefully what I have ordered will come in. I will buy all that he recieves, LOL. I think he told me he was getting in 500 rds. Between three revolvers I might shoot 100 rounds. I am not going to bring the one I shot today.
  22. Now thats a gun! Glad you have better taste in weaponry than your hubby did today.:D
  23. That guy better get them .454 balls, I just sent the better part of what I had left downrange, LOL. I was working on some Pyro loads. Seems 15 grains works better than 30+ grains. Used grits for filler on the 15 grain loads. I bleieve it helps if for no other reason than getting the ball closer to the barrel so it does not have to jump so far to get in the rifling. Of course I was shooting the white steel '51 Navy, so I am not sure how that info will carry over to the G&G knockoff.
  24. hows that gonna work for the Rabbi? yep and it looks like a Glock.
  25. I'll give Mom a call tomorrow. She is 83 and lives a long way from here. Yep a phone call is just the ticket.
