    Cowboy guns?

Starr was the first DA handgun I believe. Not many were ever made compared to Colts and Remingtons through the 1860's Several were made into the 1880's. Actually Billy the Kid and Pat Garret had DA revolvers. Pretty much I believe DA "cowboy" guns were around in the 1870's and 1880's. The traditional looking Colt cowboy revolver in DA was an 1878 model. I think it was in .45. Colt had a swing out cylinder i think in the 1890's. S&W had DA's in 1880 a .38 and 1881 a .44S&W. Personally I prefer the single action revolver, it is a classic. Dixie Gunworks has the Starr in cap and ball. It is DA http://www.dixiegunworks.com/product_info.php?products_id=3539
  5. Has anyone done this? I picked up a very inexpensive plinking rifle. It has an ugly black polymer stock. Has anyone painted these things? Will Krylon or something similar work on it? I do not want to duracoat. That would cost about as much as the rifle did. I am not worried about the metal hardware, just the plastic rifle stock.
  6. trigger locks are another feel good pile of BS. The second rule of gun safety is to keep your finger off the trigger. To install one of these locks there is no way around messing with the trigger. I refuse to use them. Put your guns in the safe and lock the door. You are done.

But I have been here near a year, your translates out to about 5000 in a year, LOL I do not have many posts in the new member/greeting place so I was not as affected by the new rules as others were. Of course I have so many as I do not have a life. You will need to apply yourself to catch Mars though

whores Post whores of course. Someone mentioned this on another thread. Made me wonder who the biggest post whore here is. So what do you think? I nominate Strickj. Heck he has lapped Canyn so you know its bad.
  9. funny stuff. Its amazing how a spelling bee is a spectator sport now
  10. posting error
  11. Sounds like a good deal. When you get back if you are still interested in moving it I will buy it. I love .22's, can't have enough of them. I would take it now but don't see myself in Kingsport in the next month. If by chance I get to go up there in the next couple of weeks on a delivery I will let you know. Maybe I could make arrangements to meet up with Sue to get it. Thanks
  12. Mark keep in mind my gun fund is slim. I found a semi auto Stevens at a local pawn shop. less than 100 bucks. It has a detachable magazine and a non wooden stock. I have no clue what the stock is, black plastic I am guessing. If I get it I will try to make the stock into pink camo, since she likes pink. Gonna go back and look tomorrow. I want to get a better look at the action and barrel. If they will allow me I want to stick a spend casing in it to dry fire the thing to see about how well the firing pin hits the casing. she has asked me about coming to one of our shoots sometime. I thought it would be a nice "Dad" thing to do and come up with a rifle for her. She has never shot before. I also found a stainless Marlin Model 60 for 135 bucks at another pawn shop.
  13. Anyone know anything about these? I know Savage also sells Stevens but that is the extent of what I know about them. Might be picking up a used one tomorrow.
  14. it just took you having the right bait son.
  15. to be honest either of those bands could have been subbed for Neil. Been listening to them for longer than you have been alive.
  16. TDR says Dude I do not know you nor have I ever seen you, but man to man I need to advise you that guys do not admit to doing that. Some of you may do it but please never speak publicly about it ever again.
  17. substitute Neil Young for Ice Cube and you have it nailed.
  18. I swear I decided to never respond to one of your posts again. Good lord you are so far over the top I can't take it anymore. I really need to just not read threads you start. Whose freakin side are you on? Why would you want to make an issue out of carrying a weapon where you know good and well they do not want you? Now you think it is a good business oppurtunity screwing over people like me who like to fly under the radar at places that are improperly posted. What the hell is your problem?
  19. no, alcoholic beverages, specifically liquor is the topic here, not monkey piss. Though I have drank some liquors that I have no doubt tasted like monkey piss.
  20. Tungsten you are banned from this thread!!!! Read the title LOL
  21. dave you are right on. But the term a "fifth" is false advertisment if a retailer uses it. Liquor is sold in 50 mil, 200 mil, 375 mil, 500 mil, 750 mil, 1 liter, 1.75 lite. Wine is 187 mil, 350 mil, 500 mil, (rare), 750 mil, 1 liter, 1.5 liter, 3 liter, 5 liter. Gallons, pints etc.... are not what is sold, though people will still use the term Pint when they want a . 375
  22. Make sure you mention my name at them places!
