  1. get the Nagants Mark. You got a mess of pistols, can't never have enough battle rifles.
  2. +1 to what Mark says. As far as I am concerned this thread has run its course. You will not do better with a lever rifle than a '92 in .357
  3. I tell you, if that happens I am abstaining.
  4. everybody take a deep breath and let this go. There is a reason for all this. Bringing it all back up is not good for anything. I see the humor in all this, trust me there, but let it go.
  5. I am trying to remember my high school graduation ceremony. Long time ago for sure, but IIRC clapping was allowed as the graduate walked across the stage , once the next guy walked everyone was syupposed to stop, and they did not announce a name until it was quiet. Of course I went to a parochial high school and they had you by the short hairs until it was over, LOL. I really do not remember there being any problems with hearing names or familys and friends being disrespectful. Of course fast forward to 2008 and we have a society that is now full of ill manners and "all about me". There is a huge lack of common respect between people these days. Cell phones and talking during movies are the least of it really.
  6. XD, I think i speak for everyone when I ask what is in your background that the state is not issuing your permit? Angel you better keep an eye on him.
  7. guns america has two sigmas in .40, they were priced $350 and $425 and a NIB for $320. I am thinking 300 is kind of high. Especially not knowing if the gun is new, condition it is in. Is it hot? etc.... I might offer 250 for it unless it is like new and has the box, then maybe 300 is fair.
  8. I avoid doctors like the plague. They have a license to practice. When they have a license to perform medical acts I will go. They are not practicing on me first.
  9. If they were sitting on a counter at a gunshop, free for the taking, I would take one. I would stick it on the windshield of my golf cart maybe. Pay for it? Only if I was going to order a badge in tandem. Stop speaking of "he" who has been shunned already too.
  10. Watching that video it seems to me that he is shooting the .22lr at an empty can and the 17hmr at a can filled with water. Sure sounds like water spraying the ground after the shot with the .17. If that is the case then it is not a fair test. I can blow up a coke can filled with water with a .22 LR. That said I also do not believe the .22lr vs. the 17hmr is a fair test. The 17 has a much larger cartridge. Never have shot a .17, doubt buying one is in my future.
  11. I quit some years ago for a while and used a nicotrol inhaler. it was easy enough to hit on the inhaler rather than light up a smoke. But within a week or two of quitting the inhaler I was back on smokes. I really do believe I have it beat this time. The biggest thing I credit to succes this time around was spending a couple of weeks before the quit date working on simply breaking the habit of when I lit up. I was still smoking but no smokes right after meals, no smokes in the car, no smokes when taking a break at work. I quit drinking as well. It really helped when the quit date started. Now I am as big a beer hound as ever but I really do not associate cigs with the beer anymore. And the beer does not make me fiend for a smoke. But everyone has to do what works for them. Really it is very easy to stop. Just do not have the next smoke!
  12. nothing to see here folks, everyone move along
  13. Bastet, the gun is for my daughter, I am pretty sure she will dig it. If I could have found a shade of pink in the correct type of paint I would have got it. She likes pink. if I was painting it to make me happy I would have left it in black or done a green, brown, black camo thing to it.

    Got Guitar?

Dave, do you play any songs you know?
  15. well, its really just 200 less dollars in the hole on recent firearm purchases, LOL. Way to go Pops. Sounds like you had great motivation. And cold turkey is the only way to do this.
  16. put up a poll, let us peons vote on it, LOL I really do not anticipate this happening. But there is loads of fun potential in it.
  17. You gotta wonder about some of the people who wrote in commenting on the story. All I can do is just shake my head. There is not even argumant about OC like we have here, basically they are against any carry period. I am going to go do my part. Think I will go outside and shoot awhile!
  18. if these guys are the "Mod Squad" , I wanna know which one is Julie?
  19. over two months and no cigarettes for me!! I deserve a reward
  20. thats is awesome that Keselowski won the race. His family has been in NASCAR for a long long time. I am not sure how he ended up hooked up with Earnhardts team but good for him that he did. I remember that kid years back in the truck series garage, He must have been 12 or 13. big old buck teeth and a slight acne condition. He always seemed kind of awkward and overly quiet. I am very happy he is making it big. No doubt the Cup series will be his future.
  21. I have a sister in law that is a anti. she would read that list, ponder for a second, look at me and say, "you don't need a gun" there is no winning
  22. though it may appear to be done haphazardly there is always a reason for anything I do with my avatar. I grew up with Jim McKay and Wide World of Sports. Youngsters today have no concept of what that show meant back in the day. Aside from all that, a little change is good. now back to someones

    my collection

everyone needs a Mosin Nagant. I love the M44 as the hot dog stick is attached and you can cook and shoot at the same time
  25. the thing is I would have taken them if I knew yesterday. I enjoy the roundy round and the new Nashville track is great. now mind you it ain't the fairgrounds but it is still great. I got to ride along in the pace car there for five hot laps a few years back. Big big fun. Nothing like heading right into the wall and waiting for the car to turn left.
