    4th of July

can I celebrate the fourth by shooting the Moisin Nagant tonight? I am pretty sure it is louder than any fireworks that will be shot off around here. I been waiting for the right time to have some night fire.
  2. now git to the important stuff. Did you eat Royal Red shrimp while you were there?
  3. fixed it for ya, LOL I do not spend much time there just went looking for this specifically. after some of the things I have read I kind of feel for that girl. Here she is all citified and they stuck her out in the middle of east bumbbleville. Just the culture shock alone of the rural setting would be enough to drive some people nuts. Guns probably had less to do with it than being in the middle of nowhere. She had real courage going through with this. I just want to clarify that by saying east bumbbleville I am not putting down the rural setting. When we first moved to Corryton it was rural. The last few years have taken a toll and the future is bleak here. Not sure how far out I need to move to be rural enough
  4. I am not 100% but I believe in the old west when in town guns were kept concealed. On the trail or away from town they were more likely to be open. When working cattle or whatnot I am guessing there were no guns were worn at all.
  5. Watermelon vodka, Smirnoff and Burnetts have that label. I also think some Cognac might mix well with it too.
  6. doubt if I will participate, unless OC when I go out in the woods to shoot this afternoon counts. I am not planning on going to the first place off my property until Monday afternoon when I go back to work.
  7. how come the guy in the front of the pic only gets a regular looking pistol and the others get the tacticool looking ones? No wonder he is hiding being the handlebar.
  8. I have never heard of Noah's Mills bourbon. But that in itself means nothing, it may well not be distributed here in E. Tn. Some of the boutique type bourbons are really, really good though. I have never had Bookers either. They make a couple different labels, and prices too , LOL.
  9. there is a thread on High Road similar to this thread here. There were two people who posted on that thread who claimed to be in the 30 Days episode. One had something to do with the gunshop Pia worked at and the other was the guy firing the .50 from the prone position at the group shoot. They both had some interesting insight to what went on for the month of filming. Neither one said that Ken was online. And to be honest if I was ken I would skip message boards referencing that show. Too many rude and ignorant comments in reference to him personally.
  10. I did it with a crutch years ago, it did not work out very well. I feel much better about my chances this time.
  11. getting a little sensitive are we?
  12. just doing my part to make it hard on you!
  13. yawn, not going to Florida, not going to Disney. Don't much care. I left Florida and as such do not worry about what goes on in that hell hole.
  14. who knows, maybe he aspires to be as perfect as you in the gun business someday
  15. I also would love to here Ken's take on this. I am not a big message board surfer and do not know where to look. But surely there is a message board dork or two on this board. How about it?
  16. translation: "looking for loopholes"
  17. I am not saying he did or did not use facts, but one of the news stories I read about this episode stated they shot 200 hours of video to get 40 some minutes of finished tv show. No telling what got edited out. I also do not think it was a current day fashion statement with the girl wearing camo to shoot. Had she wore camo to go out for pizza or to meet with other anti gun activists it may have been a fashion statement. She wore camo to shoot because thats what she thought gunnies wear to shoot.
  18. That they are old enough to possess the gun. Why should a "right" involve rules?
  19. her physical appearance is really irrelavant, but I feel ya there. I found it funny that her shooting costume involved camo. Tell me where in her hood she needs camo. LOL No doubt her stereotyping of people in rural Ohio involved lots of camo.
  20. Does anyone think it at all possible the barrel was resting on the toe of her shoe? I dunno, they did not show it. I also believe the shotty was only loaded with one round at that point. Neither Ken nor the instructor seemed very concerned about where the barrel was?????? The above story is worth looking at.
  21. It was mostly a temporary thing I guess, I am over the most recent cravings. I suspect it will happen again and again as I go forward. Really I try to look at the cravings as a reminder of how good I have done. And every day I am $3.50 closer to another rifle, LOL
  22. the best thing I learned about cleaning is that sometimes less cleaning is better than more cleaning.
  23. I think he will crack by Labor Day
  24. Missed this one, got all the rest correct! we the people was my backup, LOL
