what is on your adult beverage menu for the evening?
Mike.357 replied to Mike.357's topic in General Chat
I doubt anything for adults will be on my menu this evening, but Friday I am going to try some Tobermoray 10 yr old single malt scotch. I have a bottle with a busted cork and it can't be sold. I volunteered to do my part and dispose of it properly. Company man all the way I am. I never had it and am very curious as to how it tastes. It is made from un-peated barley. I am guessing it will not be real grassy tasting. Should be nice on ice with a splash of water. And if it sucks I can always make a "Rabbi" I have named the scotch and ginger a "Rabbi" -
i found and downloaded that software. It is pretty cool. I have saved near 400 bucks. Well i dunno about saved, but at least I had it to spend, LOL. Gas and a few new .22 rifles. It says as well that I have added about 6 days to my life. Well I dunno about all that. It is pretty near when it loads up and tells me all that stuff

is that large magazine used with the polymer stock a fixed mag or does it pop in and out like an AK or an AR?
-
LOL, I read that and am now more confused than ever. I don't really want to put a big magazine on it but I do want to put a polymer stock with a pistol grip on it, and I do not want to remove the launcher or bayonet. why can't people buy something and then do what the hell they want with it?
-
BK I been looking, and I cant find any verification of this. This is the first I have heard that the magazine made a difference.

big deal, he does it from high altitude with two helpers who do have chutes. Lets see him try it solo.

to do my part for thread hijacking, LOL I went to parochial schools through grade school and high school. I don't know what goes on in TN. in regards to these types of schools but in Cincinnati they are regarded as well above average centers for learning. Religious studies make up a very very small part of the curiculum. The 15 or so Catholic high schools are head and shoulders above anything the public schools have to offer. I mean it is not even close. If you do not swim in those environments you sink. Not like public schools. Go in the job market up there with just your high school diploma and the kids from catholic schools get hired of the public school kids everytime if head to head for a job. Maybe you speak of some different religious schools. Am I missing something here?

If I have it on I might leave it on once I get home. On the weekends I don't strap up to hang around the house. But there is always one nearby. If I am patrolling the grounds in the golf cart the SKS is with me, bayonet extended, I am currently working on the turret mount for the golf cart to accomodate the SKS as well. I really need the grenade for it.

my guess is that by scanning the ID the machine was simply reading the date of birth on it and not storing any vital statistics. Some store clerks are not bright enough to read you DOB and actually figure otu your age. So they use the software on the cash register to figure it out for them.

Does your significant other have an HCP?
Mike.357 replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
my wife pretty much does not like guns. Her and a HCP, thats funny right there. -
I carry most of the time, but hardly all the time. Just depends I guess. One reason to have the permit is you do not have to worry about having weapons and ammunition seperated during transport, like going to the range. I really try to not get ate up with carrying. Being aware of surroundings and whats going on is good enough much of the time. I feel very safe where we live too. Someone would really have to be nuts to come back my driveway uninvited.

another thing that makes me doubt the phot is actual is that her trigger finger looks really weird. Like it is toooooo long and not attached to her hand correctly. Who knws. One thing I do know is that you cannot in any way tell if she is hot by looking at that photo.

Cabellas just sent me a huge, hard bound catalogue. The thing is just under 1500 pages. It is marked "Limited Fall Edition" I wonder how many pages the unlimited edition is. I did not think I spent that much money there, LOL anyone else get one?

I dunno if he was a troll or not but he made a few low class posts. Not sure what point he was making other than pissing people off. Guess thats why Tungsten deleted them.

When asked for ID do you show your carry permit or driver's license?
Mike.357 replied to a topic in General Chat
I also believe that you have to sign the card for it to be valid, but that never stoppd me from accepting one as long as they had ID like they requested me ask for. I had happen several times someone with a card mark Check ID, then I ask for ID and they get mad because they left it in the car or flat out did not have it. One guy beeged me to let him use it anyway. I said no way, you wrote this here or the card is not yours, either way I am not taking it. I write CHECK PIC ID on the back of all mine. Not sure how much good it really does in a lot of stores or at gas pumps. A lot of stores do not even touch your card, you swipe it yourself. I pretty much only spend money at the IGA, WalMart, and gas pumps. I am the only one handling the card at these places. I worked for a while as a bank teller while in college. Had a lady come to my window, sign a payroll check in front of me, write her account number on the check and hand it over. Well the check was not her, was her husbands. She forged his name and I refused to cash it. Boy did she get pissed. The Mgr backed me up, even though he knew her. She was fit to be tied, LOL -
I think the Pepsi Co. being willing to pay a lot of money for title rights killed the Southern 500. There are still plenty of Confederate flags being flown at races. IIRC for a while it was the Mtn Dew Southern 500

wouldn't a houseboat qualify as your abode, provided you were spending the night in it or had just spent the night in it? If so the law should treat it as if it was your home.
-
IIRC the Daytona 500 is th eonly event that has not sold off the title rights to the race. I really wonder how much longer it will be before they sell that one out too.

The shotgun Pia Lalli took her first shot with was a 28 gauge and the barrel of the gun was resting on the toe of her shoe. The gun was owned by the instructor. Interesting that in spite of being overwhelmed by emotion, the anti gun girl had the thought to not damage the shotgun. to clarify, the barrel was resting on her shoe after the shot was taken while she was crying. Not resting on her shoe when she shot. Shooting ones foot would be a good reason to cry LOL

A 10/22 or a Model 60 would be just the ticket.

so I say again, is it even possible to insert the magazine in backwards? I do have several guns that have removable magazines and it is not possible to insert them incorrectly.

This might be a good deal (Blackpowder)
Mike.357 replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
the wads work fine but I think Crisco is way way more cost effective. NO difference in performance with either product. If you were going to load up and carry a percussion revolver wads would be the best way to go. -
I am not into AR's so I dunno, but can you even put a magazine in backwards?

Hypothetical Question on Restaurant Carry
Mike.357 replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I would say NO. Don't give up anything. I have no problem not going to places such as these. If I feel a need to eat out there is always Cracker Barrel, LOL. One thing I wonder. Several make claims to the thought of "concealed is concealed". So for you people it is okay to break the law if and when you see fit? What other laws do you pick and choose from?
