  1. That technology existed in the 70's alledgedly. The story is that several inventor types came up with ways to make this happen but the patents or technology were bought up by auto makers and gasoline companies. as for the moon landing I suspect next year may be more talked about as it is 40 years. If it ends in a zero it is a bigger deal ,yanno?
  2. my favorite are the burgers at House Mountain Market out on Washington Pike in Corryton. You get a cheeseburger and fries for about 4 bucks. It is ground fresh on premise. Now this is not a 1/2lb big old 12 dollar burger but I cannot think of anyplace that has better burgers.
  3. yep, I am down with spicy sausage and jelly. The contrast is awesome. Never made pie before. But I am not so sure I want to waste these berries on anything other than jelly. I am waiting on our neighbor to hook us up with some peppers. My wife makes awesome pepper jelly too. I should have added a poll to see whehter people assumed this was about fruit or an electronic gizmo.
  4. hopefully gonna get turned into jelly or preserves or something tomorrow. I spent about 3 hours today in the woods picking blackberries. My hands were near all purple when I finished. Dunno how to estimate how much I ended up with. I filled a big tupperware container and two smaller ones. I am guessing they easily would fill a gallon milk jug. I would have had more but I ate my fair share while picking them. If I can get back out there next Sunday I can get near again as many as today. Lots of red berries just waiting to ripen. I saw a lot of wildlife while in the bush. Two box turtles, a few mantis's, and a lot of some kind of beetle. The beetles were my competition for the berries. I must have pissed off a hundred of them things. They very much seemed to enjoy the succulent sweetness of the blackberries. There were a couple of turkeys too. I did not see them but I heard something real big out there. Then I could here a few of them talking to one another. Pretty cool. I wore a long sleeve denim short as well as jeans and boots. My arms still got scratched up and I was bleeding pretty good from a couple of punctures on my hands. It will be worth it by tomorrow night. The wife is gonna turn it all into sweet goodness!!
  5. I am looking at the weather and unless it really takes a turn for the worse I will be coming up Friday night and setting up camp off the side of the driveway.
  6. the Remmy, definitely
  7. Rick you always cut through the nonsense and get to the heart of matters. you are a bonus to this board.
  8. would be more interesting if one was bigger than the other two!
  9. I could show the cop my HCP while I am chewing on a hamburger, should not be a big deal
  10. so saying something like " hey mr. busybody, got anything else you want to try to turn me in for?" Or "How about you make an effort to know the the law before you go sticking your nose into someone elses business" How is that going to result in a assault charge? so the thing to do is not stick up for yourself? I stuck up for myself before, it did not make things worse but it did make it easier to look at myself in the mirror.
  11. Rumor has it that Mark made it off ship and will be home for the shoot next week. so who all is coming to this besides me? Lets get some kind of count.
  12. I dunnoo but I am pretty sure I would have had a choice word or thirty to express to Mr. Tattletail. And I doubt If I would have cared if the cop heard what I had to say.
  13. so Ford got a bunch of money for whatever illegal activity he did. What I want to know is did he declare these monies on his income tax?
  14. Mars has to be the only person who can turn a grass cutting thread into a food eating thread, LOL
  15. I used to have Dish and currently have comcast. Things get tighter and cable is the first to get dumped. As to your question I have no clue about HD channels. I can attest to Dish being pretty fair in customer service other than they really did not give a crap about me dumping their service until after I had established service with Comcast. Then they decided I could have this so called great deal to come back. I asked why i was not offered that when I told them I was going to switch unless they threw me a bone. The girl had no answer for that. I liked Dish programming. The remote was easy to figure out and the service reliable. Reliable unless a big ass storm blew in. Then cloud cover might cancel out service. There were also several times when the line in the ground would go bad at connectors or the dish needed to be re-aimed. I would call to tell them it was not working right and they would tell me it was up to me to fix. I would ask them why I was paying them for their service if I had to fix it myself. They would then send someone out. But apparantly when I first signed up for their service I was given a lifetime free service deal. So if I had not had that I would have had to pay for them to fix their cables and connectors so their service would actually work. I guess if you do not need to bury line you would have less trouble. Still trees grow and the dish needed to be moved every once in a while. It seemed that about once or twice year I needed service on the equipment. Over all I like Comcast better, but the bottom line is they all suck. Once your initial deal is over the price goes up. Seriously ready to just get basic local channels, switch back to ATT and use dial up internet. It would cut my bill in half.

    Go Tennessee!

Good gravy Mars, if you are fat then I am a tub of lard. Okay, well I am a tub of lard but you are not fat. That list of states reads like an SEC football schedule. Well not UT's schedule, it would be much to hard for that.
  17. ever going to re-appear?
  18. I doubt I will be going to see it. The last movie I paid to see was Gods and Generals. Before that I think was Jackass
  19. it is a lesson that should be well learned here. GB will be the first "western" country to succumb to Sharia law, you just wait and see if I am not right.
  20. they had JJ on the radio this morning. He was fairly humorous about the whole situation over using deputies in his ads. He was also a hoot cracking on Tyree. He is starting to win me over a little.
  21. I have been trying to figure out why I need to go to a mall. I honestly can't come upwith a good reason to go. Most anything I need I can get away from a mall, and there is always buying mail order off the internet.
  22. why would anyone not want to mow the grass or tolerate a wife not allowing you to do so? I don't stop my wife from vaccuming or doing dishes. She ain't stopping me from cutting and weed eating. I don't think I want a beer can holder on the mower, the vibration from the machine causes the beer to go flat anyway. I used to want a cigarette lighter when I smoked. Now I just want a way to hook up my Sirius radio so I can listen while I mow. I just use a set of noise supressing ear muffs that have a built in AM/FM radio. Works good enough but Sirius would be better. And Eddie filling in the ditch in and of itself would be fun. Getting to haul dirt and lay sod or put down seed. But then you lose the pleasure of weed eating the ditch. I don't have a ditch but I wish I did. I do have lime stone rocks lining all the flower beds and such. Them things destroy trimmer line. So I get the added pleasure of putting more string on the weed eater more frequently. See thats the exciting details I love to read about. I don;t use the mucling guard. I have a bungee cord that holds the grass deflector up otu of the way so the cut grass blows all over the place. I never have a problem with needing to rake or bag. The clippings just seem to disappear. Man my truck has dents in it from frickin hickory nuts. I have to be real careful where I park now days. I think we are going to have a bumper crop of nuts since we have been getting rain. And I can testify to nuts causing pain. I have been hit in the shoulder by one. It must have come from 100 feet up. It left a mark.
  23. it seems there are always threads on the internet bashing WalMart. Well yanno, it is my favorite store. If I need something I can almost always find it there. It is almost always cheaper there. They employ a lot of people locally. No one forces those people to work there so it must not be too bad a place to work for. If I need some clothes they got them, if I need bullets they got them, if I need motor oil they got it. CD's not so much as they sell edited versions, but really that is my only gripe with them. Well that and the geezers at the exit that want to look at my reciept but not at my merchandise to see if I actually stole anything. anyway I can't think of any reason to not go to Walmart and spend what little of my hard earned jack I have to toss around.
  24. the statement asks that you refrain from the following: # 20 : Carrying or displaying weapons of any kind except those carried by certified law officers in the performance of their duties. So I am pretty sure their intent is for you to not carry a gun, but I read this as it woudlbe prefectly exceptable to carry a gun as long as it is the kind used by LEO while they are on duty. So get a Glock and carry away!
