  1. Next thing you know he will up and mention The Rabbi
  2. The big thing I see that these shootings have in common is that they happened in gun free zones.
  3. As long as Mr. Sterling does not start running a business, ( or as long as no one can prove he is running a business) there is not much his neighbors can do. There is no ordinance that forbids the discharging of firearms in an unincorporated area. I live in Knox County and I shoot on my property. There is not the first thing really a neighbor can do. Their best hope would be claiming I am disturbing the peace. But if I do my shooting during the day what peace am I disturbing? Mr. Sterling is breaking no laws by allowing TGO to meet and shoot on his land.
  4. I tell ya, you can see the entire track at Bristol. I mean see it up close from your seats. Take some binoculars and you can see in detail everything in the pit area. Man it is hot as fire down there. No breezes blow there. And due to the direction car exhaust is vented it is so loud as to be unbearable. Now the pits are kind of cool to walk through before the race but I really feel it is an over rated experience. I would advise people to stick with the grandstands, much better race experience. I bet you have a great time
  5. 'Cowboy' shooters rile neighbors By DAMON LAWRENCE rclawrence@bellsouth.net John Sterling said he’s all about being a good neighbor. Tell that to the folks nearby. Some of them didn’t like the idea of him getting a special-use permit to allow firearm training on his property at 3997 Sugar Grove Valley Road. Sterling stated his case for the permit Wednesday evening before the Roane County Board of Zoning Appeals. Neighbors showed up to argue against it. In the end, the board denied his request by a 4-0 vote. “ I’m disappointed, but I understand,” Sterling said. “The noise concern was the biggest issue the neighbors had, and I understand. We all move to the country because we want peace and quiet, so I have no dispute with my neighbors over the noise issue.” Even so, the meeting had some tense moments. Board chairman Greg Howard allowed all who wished to speak the opportunity to do so. Kendall Beaty, one of the neighbors, wanted to address Sterling about guns being fired on Sterling’s property. “I’d like to know, what rapid-fire weapon are you using?” Beaty asked. Howard told Beaty that he had to address the board and not individuals. Beaty said the gunfire is unbearable. “It’s so loud, it’s unbelievable, and it’s every weekend,” Beaty said. Sterling has a business called the J-Bar-M Ranch. According to its Web site, the ranch offers numerous cowboy-style recreation that include shooting. Some of the neighbors said there was so much firing going on at Sterling’s property this past weekend that it sounded like a war was going on. Sterling said some fathers brought their sons there for bonding. “Some fellows shoot semi-automatic rifles, and they brought their kids out,” he said. “As kids will do, they wanted to see how many rounds they could squeeze off in a short amount of time.” “I wish that had not happened,” he added. Sterling told the board that he has 35 years of firearms experience and credentials that include being a state certified firearms instructor. “I have about 13 years of law enforcement, including patrol, investigations and SWAT,” he said. “I also was a former military officer.” Sterling said he wanted the special-use permit so he could train students on a shooting range. Sterling said he carries $1 million in liability insurance and would use range safety officers. Those assurances weren’t enough for neighbors. “The impact zone of one of his ranges is immediately on the other side of the ridge from my house,” neighbor Scott Ball complained. Ball said he has two children and two dogs he is concerned about. Even though the board denied the permit, neighbors will still have to put up with the noise of gunfire. “There’s no prohibition against discharging a firearm,” Sterling said. “I’m involved in cowboy action shooting,” he added. “I’ll be practicing.” _______________________________________ What a bunch of bliss ninnies!! wwwaaaaaahhhh Good lord, there is a huge ass ridge there, bullets are not going over the top. Uh, AR's AK's SKS's various assorted semi auto handguns and other rifles. Scott it is all your fault. Freaking Corey going through his terrorist and militia training is bringing the wrath of bliss ninnies down on the range. :D:D:D:D Over all I am disappointed that no mention was made of the smoke screen I did my best to throw out there. How soon can we do this again? LOL
  6. IMHO Bristol is not the place to be in the pits at. You can't see much of anything there. Really you can't see much in the pits at any track. Very over rated experience
  7. It is on 394 sort of near Vol Blvd. It's called Pit Row Liquors I think.
  8. my driver had to deliver to a restaurant on State St. this morning. He was there by 8:30 AM and could only get as close as three blocks from the place. He told me traffic was murder trying to get the heck out of town. Thank goodness he did not have to go to the liquor store right near the track. how 'bout that Kyle Busch?
  9. garlic pepperoni pizza and Coors Light
  10. I think they are aspiring construction superintendents
  11. what the hell are you all talking about? When I pull out it is to prevent a pregnan... ooooopps. it reads POLL out not PULL out
  12. You are a prick for expecting a reasonable transfer fee
  13. Mars I am not sure but I think we need a home for the September shoot. You might want to check things with Mark or Tower before plans are set in stone.
  14. I thought of that too. I dunno how frequently they fall off the ship but in that digi cam they will wear they are going to not be seen.
  15. it's obvious nothing has changed then. If I was on the fence as to joining the service and unable to make a decision that uniform would take the Arny out of the running. Dunno about digital camo for the Navy, sounds kind of odd. If you were on a ship and needed to be camo'ed wouldn't gray be the color to wear?
  16. I think the old lady went on strike. No dinner last night. Of course I was supposed to dig some chicken breast out of the freezer and forgot. Ended up eating White Castle cheeseburgers for dinner. They were pretty good, but being from the frozen food section they are not nearly as good as the real thing that comes fresh out of the shiny white building.
  17. thats what I was getting at Strick. They are out to make money just like the bradys are. If the bigwigs at NRA did not have fat salaries I would have more faith in their intent. Even still though they are our best hope.
  18. strick now you don't really think the NRA is a propoganda machine of thelike of Brady do you? If NRA is saying something I am betting it is true
  19. Mars said so have you found a shop that replaces Top Notch to do this?
  20. Don't be nice, we know we are fat asses
  21. I would say my party has deserted me. I know I can vote for third party candidate but it really truly is a waste of a vote. Might as well stay home as do that. Growing up I always believed the Democrats were for the working man, they represented the middle class and downtrodden. Now the Dem's seems to be left wing moonbats. They want to take anything that people have gotten through hard honest work and give it to those that are looking for the easy way out. Welfare was supposed to be a leg up and it has become a way of life for generation after generation. Now Obama wants to be "my" president. He does not represent hardly anything that I am now. I am for offering a leg up to those in need, but not a meal ticket that never ends. I like to donate to a charity or two of my choosing but not be told that I have excess I do not need and to hand it over. I do not need the "Change" that the Democrats are offering. Gov't has gotten too big and way out of control. The Republicans have greatly contributed to this. But the Dem's would be running at 100 mph making gov't bigger. At some point the leeches on society will draw more than the workers can put into their support. At that point this country will cease to exist. The Democrats are hurrying us to that point. It has been said that is why Democracy can never succeed.
  22. warbird says I say that some people do not vote based on one issue alone. And I did not see gutterboy's post that says pretty much the same thing. i will say that this election will bring a first to me. It will be the first time in my life I will vote for a republican for president.

    Oh My God...

I'd say 140 bucks with two mags is about fair. New in a store they go for about 180, then add tax and background and you are near 210 bucks. 140 fair, 475, nutso. More power to him if he can get it.

    Oh My God...

    isn't that what they are?
