I am not a chef, but I believe that the purpose of wine in the cooking process is to break down the fibers in the meat, therefore making it more tender. Some of the wine flavor will effect the meat. The alcohol cooks off. Best to drink heavily.

i figured bacon grease and onions for the liver, smells great cooking but it wold take a lot of money to bribe me to eat that. Oak Leaf wine is swill. no doubt for that price it is closed out. What liquor store did you get it from? We are carrying a line of cheapo wine that has gone over pretty darn well. It is called Forestville. There are about 12 varieties of it. Retails for 6 to 8 bucks a bottle.

I never saw Deadwood when it orginally aired. I guess they are showing it in repeat form now. Sucks that it is not available with On Demand. I have no clue how far along in the series it is currently but Wild Bill was killed about 8 episodes ago(?) and the town just survived a scare of the plague or something similar.

I will dare say that the vast majority of the places named in this thread are not technically "meat and three" type places. I eat meat and three all the time if you count condiments and french frys as veggies.

when I coached little league I had a 12 year old who was head and shoulders better than everyone else in the league. Of course he pitched. That kid could throw heat. I took the team to a White Sox game and he threw in the 85mph range at the radar gun game at the stadium, 3 pitches anyway. I think he had one no hitter that year. But there was never talk of him not being able to play. The travelling team wanted him bad. But he wanted to play in the regular league with his buddies. Just goes to show you that there are always phenoms. And just because the kid is a monster now does not mean that he is the next Randy Johnson

Why don't they move the kid up to the next age group of players? If a kid in school is way smarter than the grade level he is in they can move him up ala Doogie Howser. Why not move little Jericho up a league, have him play with older kids? \

Anyone else watching? I did not post it in the political subforum becasue frankly I do not want to argue politics. I thought this might be a good place to crack wise at the goings on there, TV coverage, goofy looking people in the background etc... They just had Uncle Teddy on, and the tear jerking " This is your life" segment preceding his speech. Not at all suprised that his part of a soggy car crash was never mentioned. And of course they made him look like everyones favorite uncle. Does anyone else think when they show pics of Teddy as a young boy that he resembles Jerry Mathers when he was a young Beaver? Caroline while aging ( as are we all) is still kind of good looking. And do they sell beer in that arena? Are there concessions like if a concert or sporting event was going on? They play music between speakers and people are dancing and all. Now I dunno about anyone else but unless there is alcohol involved I am not dancing. Either they are a bunch of dorks or they are drunk. I dunno if I have the stomache for staying up for Miss Michelle's speech. I am sure she will be full of baloney anyway. We can always root for a costume malfunction or something though.
