  6. thats funny right there, water under the bridge
  7. they should get the same punishment as the ducks got
  8. this stuff cracks me up. No online petition is going cost fat Phil his job. How many of these people are actually real? How many are ticket holders? The one thing that cracks me up even more is that people around here actually think UT football is a premier program in college football. I just signed Randy Sanders name to it, I also commented to give Phil a raise. You all ought to be happy anyone will even take that job on the hill. Biggest bunch of fickle fans I have ever seen.
  9. I do not believe there is any beer "to go" at the Brewers Jam. Not everyone used draft beer. We had bottle beer as did several other venders.
  10. make sure you have a designated driver first off. There is no way to go to that thing and not get a buzz on. We had a booth last year and poured several kind of beer. I am guessing there must have been near 40 venders pouring beer. It seemed that people got in line, got there beer and then stepped into the next line to drink the beer. It pretty much looked like a hoot to just be hanging out and imbibing. They have food venders and live music too. I have not seen a date for this one yet.
  11. Marswolf memories. Pulling up to a shoot in Kingsport and seeing rocket launchers and claymore mines near the firing line. Mars had brought a selection of militaria gear to share. Also at that shoot , getting to dig through his travelling gun show. He had brought several tubs of gun gear. I left with a really nice bipod that was tailor made for the .22 I had taken that day. It was like he knew I needed it. One of my favorite things to do with Mars was to swap recipes. LOL And we both found out that our taste in foods was very similar. I hope he got to try the grilled cheese with mayonaise. I don't know how many of you know it, but the name Mars has nothing to do with planets or his military background. But rather goes back to a time when Mars would be spelled Marse. He was not real clear on how he came to be called Marse but the name comes from the old south where the word Master was slanged down to be pronounced Marse. Wolf was his old Army call sign or the like. My family is fixing to sit down to a dinner of hot wings and teryaki rice. In Shannons honor after dinner I am going to go out to look at the mountain. I will sit on the bench and enjoy a nice cold beer and this cigar I have been waiting for the right time to light up.
  12. It's unbelievable really. Hard to believe he is gone. Shannon was a great guy and I always thought it a good thing to consider him my friend. I only wish I could have been there more for him. Bless you Shannon, I hope your next journey is a great one.
  13. ha, i was expecting this to be an NFL thread
  14. it was a self fulfilling prophecy
  15. exactly, and I do not see a candidate that will change things. Maybe Palin would be different if McCain up and died if elected. She is probably just as bad as the rest though, we just don't know it yet.
  16. not so fast there, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keating_Five
  17. Jacob's is great, tastes way better than cosmoline. Cheese goes better with Jacob's fare that it would on a rifle too.
  18. having someone else do that takes out all the fun, just ask Suntzu
  19. Don't do it! I mean it just kidding, congrats but seriously don't do it!
  20. sort of off topic but I heard a guy on the radio yesterday explaining that he cannot vote for McCain. His reasoning was that McCain broke down and talked while being torchered while he was a POW. Talked as in gave up information more so than name rank etc.. These are the type of people the repubs are up against. How long does this guy think OB would have held out before talking? Okay back to the regularly scheduled thread.
  21. Savage rifles are great. I have several, bolts and semi auto. No problems with either type.
  22. Doc, You would just be buying at your normal rate. Others who went and bought gas in amounts more than normal or frequency were who I referred to. I remember this same thing happening after Katrina. Reminds me of what happens when the weatherman mentions SNOW.
  23. this is pretty simple. If you do not want to pay the price don't buy. If everyone would be consistent and not buy then the price would come down. This is basic supply and demand. Some guy in another thread talked about filling up his car, his wifes car and five 5gal gas cans. So I am guessing there is a percentage of people who also did this. Plain and simple, hording is what made the price go way beyond a simple adjustment for low supply. FWIW, the Weigles at Washington Pk and Murphy Rd had regular for 3.99 tonight.
  24. Guess you won't see this post for a while but just the same, Good Luck to you. Keep your feet dry. I look forward to shooting with you when you get back into town again. And like Boom says, I would be happy to come up and keep your gun barrels warm!
