Here is a photo of the new to me 1943 Inland M1 Carbine .30 caliber. It was purchased from CMP. The sling and ammo pouch are farbish not vintage. I picked up three vintage 15 rounds magazines. two of which are in real good shape, the third looks like it was fished out of the English Channel. The backpack is actually a rucksack. It is also a 1943 model B-88 manufactered by Meese Inc. This rucksack was developed for use by mountain troops. It is vintage and I bought it 25 years ago at a flea market.

so basically because the law dicks HCP holders you want LEO to be treated the same way. I see nothing wrong with cops carrying, while in uniform while they are grabbing lunch at O'Charleys or wherever. -
carry on bag, that is the funniest thing I have read in a while. I suggest you try.

I have been admiring a certain rifle, it is taking up a lot of my time

I am not going to be able to go. I have privately made my peace with Mars death. After he is buried I will make my way to Kingsport to visit the grave. I am going to visit family this weekend in Cincinnati. Not to disrespect Shannon but life is for the living and I intend to enjoy life this weekend in his honor. I am pretty sure he would see my point, and would be the first to tell me to go on.

I am pleased to see that there is some resolution to this matter now.

while I am comfortable with the source for breast milk I myself am not comfortable with consuming it anymore.

I have not been to one of thse BYOB places before. Do you keep it on you table the entire time or does the facility keep it for you until you want another? If they keep it for you I believe it would be the same as serving it. If you keep it with you then they are not serving.

I dunno about that GSG thingy. I believe it needs ammo that costs more than 550 bulk packs do. Most of what I read is it does not cycle well on plinking ammo but runs great on mini mags and the like. then you are at about $10 for 100 rounds. You might could find a used Buckmark or Ruger auto loading .22 for under 250 bucks. They run on bulk pack ammo IMHO. I would stick to looking for a Model 60 or a Stevens in semi auto or bolt.

I can't believe no one brought up a Taurus Judge or a Thunder-Five. Load a few chambers with .410 00shot and the others with .45 Colt. Revolvers IMHO make the best nightstand guns. Just pull the bang button and let the lead fly. The two revolvers I mentioned combine the best of both a shotty and a revolver. Auto loaders are fine, but are you going to leave it chambered? If not I might guess in a high stress middle of the night wake up scenario someone forgets to rack the slide.

Mars used to make a new sticky each month. No one has stepped up to do this. I thought I would make a thread for it. we need a location to shoot. Still the third Saturday of the month. Third Saturday would be October 18

has anyone ever asked Obama about all his "present" votes?

I had opportunity to go to the Auburn game but turned it down to move couches instead. I guess I will sit on the couch and watch UT get humbled again.

way to go Suntzu, your awesomeness is even more awesome now! buzz writes mediocrity is the Tennessee way, better get used to it. No one does much of anything in a hurry or with much pride around here. Took me some getting used to as well.

Joel it sounds like we are in the same boat. My advice to you is get a inexpensive .22 plinker like a Model 60 or something similar. You can find them under 100 bucks and shoot for hours on about 15 bucks worth of bullets.

Doc I think you have supplied the answer to the question of how many guns is enough

I have heard Bonefish Grill is pretty good. I can vouch for them keeping a nice kitchen too. been through the one in Bearden and Turkey Creek and they are near spotless when we deliver. We did chicken wings on the grill tonight. Man were they good. Used Louisiana Hot Sauce, butter, cayanne pepper and chili powder for sauce. First time we mixed in the chili powder. It added an extra bit of flavor along with a different kind of heat. Used a little ranch dressing on the side as a flam retardant.

she took the dogs before he passed. Someof you may remember a post where he mentioned having gone to Cookeville. He was taking the dogs there I believe.

now I ask a serious question. And keep in mind I am as ate up over guns and bullets as anyone. But why in the world does someone need these huge quantities of magazines? I like to have two for each weapon, but the second one is mainly if there is a malfunction of the first one. I am not fighting off zombies, TEOTWAWKI is not happening and even if it did what good is 50 magazines for a handgun or a hundred for a rifle? I ask the above in all seriousness. I think it is a sickness. I have ammo and don't want to shoot it because then I will not have it anymore. LOL WTF?

I do not have a dog in this race but I would be very curious as to what the Derek guys side of the story is.

I don't shoot BP rifles but in my .44 revolvers I use between 20 to 30 grains of fff. I suggest you start out at 15 grains and work your way up to an optimium load. A lot of the time a maximum load is not very accurate anyway. If you took five shoots maximum and started at 15 grains I bet you find the optimum load before you hit 35 grains. I am guessing the rifle will easily and safely accomodate 40 or 50 grains, maybe more, but it is just a waste of powder.

not very "High Road" imho

I would not want to stand at 800 yards with a target in front of me and Tower's wife shooting. I believe she is an excellent shot, seen her shoot and she might could do it. Rabbi acted like an asshat when Tower inquired about buying a rifle from an ad that was an old post. It would have been better business to say something to the effect that "the rifle is sold but we can always see about getting you one when you are here" If I was in the gun business I would want Towers business, chances are he is going to buy the thing. and Elliott, not that you need it but if it comes down to 2X4's I have your back.
