  1. all them guns, how is the ammo going to fit in a glove box?
  2. my worthless opinion is that you should pick out a carry weapon based on how proficient you will be with it. The finish should be secondary. A carry gun is nothing more than a tool. Now all things being equal I prefer stainless, but wear and tear on the carry gun is the last thing I worry about.
  3. got a call today from a friend, she told me it is sold out. I did not know they were preselling tickets. We had a booth last year but not this year so I am not going/vending.
  4. next time you get a chance to jump ship! Looking forward to it. I think my favorite was the black powder firing line we had at one shoot, too much fun. I picked up some BP .45 Colt cartridges, have not shot any yet but I am looking forward to seeing how they work in the Remmy.
  5. Rock City is really cool. Ruby Falls is pretty neat too. My advice to you would be drink a bunch of beer, eat brats and saurkraut, have big fun!! Take your time going through Rock City, enjoy it. I would also recommend a side trip to Chickaumaga Battlefield.
  6. There is no respectable side of Knoxville. Crime happens everywhere, murder of that girl near Lovell Road (west) , church shooting near campus (central), school shooting (north) mall shooting (east). Its the west side snobs who want you to think it is better out there.
  7. I dunno about mail ordered Hot Salt, but the stuff from the grocery store is pretty darn good.
  8. I am not sure about spare BP cylinders for a Palmetto revolver. You may wish to contact Possibles Shop about it since they deal with Palmetto. My spare BP cylinder and my R&D cartridge cylinder dropped right in. I doubt you will be able to know for sure about putting a cylinder in the gun that is made for Uberti or Pietta just by comparing cylinders. Off a red hair might as well be off by a mile. Keep your loads on the light side and the gun should hold up fine for years and years. My Pietta '58 shoot fairly accurately with about 20 grains of fff. The cylin der is big and will hold a lot more. Mostly over filling just wastes powder. I use corn meal to get the ball near the end of the cylinder. That also raises accuracy. I think you have motivated me to take mine out to shoot this weekend too.
  9. beef tips and noodles. It was very good! "Stick to your ribs food", as Grandma would have said.
  10. I love the Remmy '58 NMA. It is my favorite single action pistol to shoot. did you know you can get a conversion cylinder for it to shoot .45 Colt cartridges? Sounds like you got a decent price. I hope yours is a nice one!
  11. take them Crispy kremes and pan fry them in a little butter, they get gooey and the sugar on them kinda caramelizes a little. Oooh it is a treat.
  12. You could not find one, no matter where you searched bridge water
  13. Hi-Point 9mm and .40S&W pistols are rated for +P ammo.
  14. url on the "bugflector" in reverse so the guy ahead of you can read it in the mirror
  15. Interesting answers, all. The ones that make me chuckle are those who go vote for who they think will win, irregardless of who the better candidate is. still debating... to add, even if one does not vote they very much still have the right to bitch. I think that falls under the right to pursue happiness.
  16. I am curious how many people on this board own guns that they have put 150,000 rounds through?
  17. I will go on record as saying the Lorcin was not mine, I was just playing middle man for a guy I work with. also the Hi-Point C-9 is not a big giant pistol. It is fairly small and I would guess easily concealed. I carry at 4 oclock, other times of the day too. my advice is to stop bending over.
  18. go vote this year? I looked at a sample ballot and my vote one way or the other is not going to matter. All the repub's will carry the day around here. So why does it matter if I go vote or not?
  19. thats really funny. what a way to start the day.
  20. Thanks for all the nice comments on the M1. I almost feel like I have no need to ever buy another gun ever again. It completes me HA, Now if I can save up to get a Garand next summer.
  21. thats another thing I like about the M1 Carbine, it is so easy to pose!
  22. I dunno, someone spills a cup of coffee all over you, or the interviewer says something like "our AC is out today, take you jacket off and make yourself comfortable" i am just saying a lot of times Murphys law takes effect.
  23. what if something happens that requires you to remove the jacket?
  24. I can do the basic need to have list of five. 1. US made milsurp 2. 1911 in .45ACP 3. Model 60 4. Remington pump 12 gauge shotgun 5. 1958 Remington NMA in .44 w/.45 LC conversion cylinder.
  25. service grade. The stock has enough dings and dents for me to never have to worrry about adding another to it. The rest of it is in absolute great shape. Reciever and barrel are both Inland, I do not know enough about markings to know where the rest of it came from. There are not a lot of visible markings on it. Stock has the P cartouche on the grip and there is an AAK on the left side. I know I can never find out but I wonder about its WW2 service history.
