  1. Try to remember Christmas is not about bonuses. If that offers no solace I am down with the Ho F'n Ho thing.
  2. here is where concealed showed a benefit. If they do not know you have it they cannot assume you do and make a play for it. Also using the enclosed stalls with locking doors rather than urinals are your friend.
  3. I think you ought to not give up on gun shows. All too soon they may be out of existence as we now know them. I like going to them to be with hundreds (if not more) like minded people. It's very easy to converse about guns and associated wares. It is fun to look at all the stuff, even high priced knives. Most dealers do not overly mind if you fondle their guns. So the hands on factor is very high. I dunno, generally I have always found a fair deal, fair is all I expect. I have also gotten great deals. It helps a lot to know what you want and what you are willing to pay before going in. It can also be helpful to be up on gun pricing so you know if something is a good deal. Remember prices you see on Gunbroker etc... do not include the inevitable shipping cost as well as transfer fee and background check fee from and FFL. So go ahead and add 50 to 100 bucks to the cost you find on the internet. (FTF deals being the exception to fees). Best tip I can offer is that if you are buying ammo, get to the Ga. Arms booth early!
  4. is a hunter allowed to hunt on his property and then come onto other property to get his deer? Meaning he shot it where allowed but the deer ran and died on my property where the hunter has no permission to be?
  5. I would like to see the law on this cited. Having to load mags at the range kind of defeats the point of having multiple magazines. I been transporting when needed with guns in the truck interior and ammo/loaded mags in a ammo can in the tool box.
  6. thinking about going Friday.
  7. Tower says Didn't you swear off buying any more guns until sometime next summer?
  8. nothing wrong with don't ask don't tell. Gays have no more choice over what they are than do Jews(Sammy Davis Jr. excepted) or Hispanics
  9. aside from the point of this thread and the original post, is there some law against giving someone the finger? I gave that kind of stuff up a long time ago, some jerk on the road is not going to get my goat. The best way to get even is to continue having a nice day. I did have a guy years ago pull up next to me and start yelling at me. I guess he thought I cut him off. I dunno really. I yelled back at him "go home and beat your wife, maybe that will make you feel better" I have since matured.
  10. not in a million years, never. No doubt they would burglarize a residence or business to get ammo. Heck they could hijack a walmart truck easier than loading their own rounds
  11. i kept waiting for the turkey slaughterer to whip his manhood out and wiggle it at the camera. I think though this does show that she is not polished enough to be president. Does anyone think for a moment that GW would have allowed that camera angle to be used? No doubt the camera angle was deliberate.
  12. I wonder if this statement is true or has it been told so many times people believe it to be true
  13. thats what I am talking about!

    1911, why?

the 1911 helped whip the Axis powers arse. For me that is the fascination and what draws me to them. I only own one but it is enough for now. Someone mentioned the original not having a thumb safety. I believe JMB saw no need for that. It has a grip safety along with keeping you finger off the trigger being a safety. I believe the gov't insisted on the thumb safety. Cocked and locked is the way to carry now.
  15. i really wonder what it will take for the American people to wake up. Some of us obviously seem to get it. Why are the rest being snowed under with all the BS? tarheel, your post hits the nail on the head. so many people are willing to sacrifice, unfortunately it is not those who have made the mess. No doubt the CEO's who will not fly commercially also will get huge bonuses in spite of the fact that they cry about the straights their businesses are in. I am fed up but basically powerless to do anything about it. This country and our leaders sicken me. I really do wonder when a revolution will happen. We need change and hope, but it for sure is not wrapped around Obamanomics.
  16. what did you buy? I am an ammo addict. I bought 100 rds. of WWB .45 Auto
  17. I do not doubt reloading components will be required to be stamped with some sort of ID. I would pretty much figure that "rolling your own" will still have to fall under compliance with the law. How enforcable would this be? I dunno, but I am guessing getting caught outside the law will be no better then than it is now.
  18. This whole bailout business really has my dander up. First the banking mess, now the proposed bailout of the UAW. Why do I have to pay for it? I live by my means. I did not buy a house I could not afford. I am not the man making bad business decisions and operating off of a failed business plan. But I will get to help pay for this. I will see little if no benefit from this bailout. I read in news stories how the bailout of the mortgage business will help those who are getting forclosed on. Why is none of this money being sent to me? Because I am responsible and pay my bills, did not buy a 200K home when all I could afford was a 92K home, I get to suffer from others stupidty. As far as I am concerned capitalism should run its course. If the auto industry goes belly up then so be it. If somone has to move in with their inlaws because their mortgage ballooned then so be it. Maybe, just maybe they will act smarter next time around. People everywhere need to man up and support themselves. Stop looking to be on the gov't dime. Which in reality is MY dime. Our kids, grandkids and great grandkids will be paying for this BS. It's a fine example we set for future generations. You cannot borrow your way out of financial trouble.
  19. I am not sure in what context this statement is meant. But someone who make 250K a year is doing pretty well. Certainly well out of middle class. Being rich is not in my mind based on a annual salary but rather accumulated wealth. If I am making 250K i can accumulate some wealth fairly rapidly. Making what I do there is barely enough to put much away. But I do not really consider myself poor either. I choose to not live to far over my head. All In all i feel lucky to be in my situation, I know plenty of people who have it a LOT worse.
  20. i wish I could find one with a bent barrel and a broken stock, on the cheap. I am a fanboy of Hi-Points. I think there is nothing wrong with their handguns or the carbines.
  21. so why do Hi-Point handguns get bashed but no one seems to bash the carbine? Isn't it all based on the same thing?
  22. What I want to know is if the "don't ask don't tell" thing is removed can they be married by base chaplains? This of course pertaining to bases in states that allow such a thing.
  23. 76 to 24, i guess my vote did not count
  24. are all Glock grips the same size (aside from length on compact models) and that same angle? I have always wondered why they don't make truly different models. They all seem alike to me. S&W makes different kind of gun as well as a lot of manufacterers. Just something that keeps me up at night wondering about.
  25. as far as I know there is no law against a firearm carried legally in a commercial vehicle or company car.
