  1. Spuds said foiled by reading comprehension again JSmith said thanks but that is not really much of a deal. I saw boxes for $18. That is too high. I did not want to pay more than .30 cents a round.
  2. thats great, every gun owner needs encouragement to buy more guns. I bought a 11/22 sized safe (RSC). Depending on use of shelves it hold 11 long guns or 22 plus handguns on a top shelf. I never thought I would need to worry about using it in the 22 long gun configuration. One more long gun and I got to remove the shelves, LOL
  3. we are on the same page Hillbilly. Can you imagine the outcry from the lib's if firearms training was required in high school? It would be great.
  4. Hillbilly i totally see your point and agree with it. Though I do not equate stupid people with criminals, criminals are stupid people I more refer to the guy who basically would not break laws intentionally but if he had a gun handy might do something stupid. Basically a guy who would not put forth time or effort to understand when you can and cannot use a handgun in a confrontation. the criminal knows darn well what they are doing is wrong. I totally agree we should not have to pay for the priviledge but I do believe the paying part helps keep the morons of the world maybe a little safer to themselves and others. It's a messed up situation.
  5. jwp said I tell you, you are right on with that comment. Not that I am a gunshow expert but it really was a let down. Lots of empty tables. Really compared to the Expo Center the Jacobs Building is a dump. don't know that I would be inclined to go back there. I only saw a few boxes of way overpriced .30 Cal carbine ammo. Which was what I was hoping to find. Well not hoping to find overpriced .30 cal ammo, but rather some bulk packed in a price I expected to pay.
  6. So did you pay off on the bet?
  7. I feel ya on this but I am not so sure permits should be done away with. Those of us who choose to carry legally think it is worth the time, effort and money to do this. If every Tom, Dick and Harry that is legal to own decided to up and carry a gun I am thinking something bad would happen. There are many people who while legal to own a gun do not heave enough sense to use a four way stop sign. These people would probably pull out that gun and threaten or use it when confronted at a four way stop. Know what I mean? Of course criminals will never follow the law anyway, but I am writing about your average yahoo that owns a gun.
  8. Just got back from it. One heck of a line to get in at 1 pm. Situation inside was crowded right off the bat. Found no good deals on ammo, not that I expected too, saw a lot of ammo that was high priced. I got a relatively fair price on a handful of boxes of Wolf 7.62X39 from private seller. And a bag of some 7.62X54r with yellow tips from another table. My "glad I went" find was a metal thingy to connect my two 30 round M1 mags together for $10 and a pair of milsurp long johns for 5 bucks, LOL. I never found Spuds but did see the neandrathal looking guy he had described. I saw a guy selling cool milsurp (rifles, bayonets etc) stuff to the right of the door, I asked and he was not Spuds. Big beef jerky display but sadly no beanie babies. I would have gone to CCA but I guessed I would find no M1 mag connector or long johns there I said hi to the TNSG guys but did not converse with them as they were talking to each other and another older gentleman. NRA guy looked bored out of his goard. Two guys outside selling AK's wanted over 600 each for them. I did not see any buyers. There was one old guy walking outside with a Mac 10 (?) with a sign saying "unfired, $1100" yikes! But what the heck, it was only seven bucks to get in (with coupon) and I enjoyed my time there. would have liked it better if Ga. Arms was there.
  9. :stir:Woman make mass amounts of food. :drool:Family eats until it is about to bust. Woman do dishes and clean up, men sit on the couch and take a nap. Thanksgiving does not get any better
  10. I love these threads. They start in the OP as "your favorite" gun movie, then always turn into a list of any movie with a gun in it, LOL. I will add to the list with "God's and General's" and "Gettysburg" as they are just full of front stuffers making tons of smoke.
  11. How about you invite the male of the house to help you find a shooting range to kill some time. that would borach the gun subject and not make you having a gun with you sound like a big deal.
  12. thanks Fallguy, from the way that law reads I am good to go with loaded mags in my tool box and guns in the cab.
  13. thats some nice looking tile you have Guns are great too!
  14. You answered 27 out of 33 correctly — 81.82 % Average score for this quiz during November: 78.0% Average score: 78.0% i guess I am above average at something anyway, LOL
  15. Band of Brothers to me is what a rainy cold day off work is made for. I bet I watch it four times a year, not counting when I see it is on History Channel, LOL. It is pretty much the only DVD I will not lend out. I bet I have watched part two 50 times by now.
  16. wordsworth says What fantasy world do you live in? Try a web search of Obama+gun shows. He is a self professed gun grabber of the first class. He has openly talked about ending the gun show loop hole. That loop hole is simply me having the ability to sell my personal property. There are already laws on the books addressing the legality of who I can sell to. Right there is his threat to gun owners and gun sellers. Enjoy gun shows as they exist now before it is too late. Spuds, how does one go about knowing they have found your table at the show?
  17. not a movie but Band of Brothers would be my favorite. It has all my favorite guns in it. M1 Carbine, M1 Garand, Thompson sub machine gun and i am sure the 1911 made an appearance. Generation Kill was pretty good but not anywhere in the league of BoB. Definitely worth watching though.
  18. i remember when we were kids, one of our neighbors used to buy live chickens and slaughter them himself rather than the store bought variety. We talked him into cutting off the head and letting it go one time. What a hoot. 6 or so ten year old boys chasing a chicken with its head cut off. Great memories are what it's all about, not the Hokey Pokey.
  19. Jung, did you get to pee in the radiator? BK wrote OMG my man, do you live under a rock? I bet I have seen that movie or parts of it 30 times. Wait it is me who has no life more than you under a rock
  20. Very sorry to read this. Children are very special as we all know. In some way not evident yet you will be blessed by your son.
  21. I don't mind the wait particularly. I do appreciate they are upfront about their turn around time and my order was within their time frame. Planning ahead to not be caught short is the key.
  22. it seems every year there is this three day gun show, are all the vendors there on Friday at 1:00? Mac if you want to meet up I suppose I will be there at opening so as to be able to hoard any and all good deals for myself.
  23. I placed an order with ammunition to go on the 13th. I recieved word today that the order shipped today. 12 days. They gotta be swamped.
  24. I will send you the part that I ain't gonna eat.
  25. going to this will be my feeble attempt to have a life
