I must have missed something, maybe I am naive. Isn't the so called bailout of the "Big 3" a loan. Bailout to me implies that it is a gift. A loan would ideally be repaid. What am I missing here? If GM does go under it will effect a lot more people than just those directly involved in auto manufacture and associated businesses. Even if they file bankruptcy aren't there going to be people who get screwed on accounts receivable? Won't that be just as bad as the fallout from a loan or bail out?

I was gonna buy that Hi-Point but you all had to go and ruin it for me @#&$%*@!!ers

I have used all three of the bulk packed .22's Federal, Remington and Winchester. I shoot them out of several different auto loading .22's. I can't say I have had a worse experience with any of the three brands. All of them seem reliable. Out of my bolt action Savage .22 Federal works best. Dunno why. Now when shooting the Ruger Single Six the only failures to feed are operator error

I wear mine on my chest just like a real cop. -
I remember back in the 60's when I was a young whipper snapper that Dec. 7 was near a national holiday. Now it seems to be almost an afterthought. Thats kind of a shame. While he was not there on Dec. 7 my father was stationed at Pearl Harbor during his time in the Navy during WW2.

If God intervened directly in life in general I would be fine with not carrying. But that is not how it works.

If you buy an alcoholic beverage there are you allowed to wander the mall with it? Anyway I cannot think of one reason to go to a mall.

if the pricing was not borderline ridiculous I would order an entire set for my oldest grandson. H eloves action figures. The grocery store up the street has a bin full of toys for $1 apiece. I looked through it last weekend. It was full of gun sets. I ended up buying the boy a 1911 looking dart gun and a bag of plastic army men. The dart gun is great, what a hoot. Now the army men came in the bag divided in two colors. There are gray men and green men. There were also two flags. One a USA and the other a German flag. The boy set up his armies on the fireplace hearth to do battle. How did he know the gray men were Germans and the green men US soldiers? He put the German flag behind the gray men and the US flag behind the green men. I do not think it was accidental either. Somehow he knew. So anyway why is there not German people in an uproar of bags full of army men? Screw the freakin Muslims. To borrow a phrase from Stonewall Jackson i say when the terrorist comes along, "Give him the bayonet".

the person who would sell a dirty gun is the same guy who does not cut his grass regularly, does not rake leaves, never washes his car, etc.. You get the idea. I have never been presented a dirty gun that I wanted to see for the purpase of purchase. Dunno who them people are, but I can drive down my street and point out who I think they might be.

Not much new there. Same old stuff. Political suicide for many who would vote for it.

Yesterday I had the Phil Williams show on the radio as I often do after 3 pm when I am in the warehouse. Right at the begginning of his show they commented on the Plaxico Burress thing. Phil made some crack about taking his gun everywhere even the golf course in case of slow play. The girl who is his sidekick made a comment about " why would you go somewhere if you thought you needed a gun" I tell you both comments pissed me off. I tried to call but the line was busy and I did not have time to keep trying. First of all, carrying a gun is serious business. Not something to make wisecracks about slow play on a golf course. And I seriously doubt one person in this forum goes somewhere if they think they need a gun to go there and be safe. If I ever think to myself, " better strap up as that place ain't safe and I expect I will need to shoot someone" well then I am not freakin going. Stupid people like that really irk me. And if that jackass of a radio host really has a carry permit he should know better than to make dumb wise cracks. <Sorry had to vent after reading the op>

The 6 year old grandson and I had a turkey shoot on Thanksgiving. Of course a 1st grader knows how to draw a turkey. We did that Wednesday night and took them out to my range and had a shooting contest on Thursday before dinner. It was a hoot! Of course he won too. Black Friday wasa trip to the gun show, Saturday another Turkey shoot with the boy. Then it started raining, so I got to hide out in the basement and watch about half of Band Of Brothers while eating leftovers. Great weekend.

I hope they prosecute the heck out of him. Totally irresponsible to be carrying a handgun like some gang banger wannabe. Into a night club on top of that. If you want to carry in a bar go to Virginia and OC, or else get something small enough to deeply conceal. He may well get some time in a striped suit.

gotta love the Rosie bashing, i do wonder though how the network determined after one show that it needed to be cancelled. Heck I think of it was worthy of cancelling after one show it was never worthy of being aired to begin with.

I don't doubt what you are saying about a positive attitude is true. I have worked with guys before who did nothing but bitch and moan. It really brings other people down to hear it all the time. It only goes to make sense that a good attitude and kind positive words will bring it back in return. (PS: Mark have not seen you in a while, hope everything is going well.)

7.62 x39 ammo 4 sale DEC 4th!
Mike.357 replied to Magiccarpetrides's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
i have never heard that ammonia is bad for chrome. Is the chrome on a bumper on a car different from the chrome in a gun barrel? Not sure how much actual ammonia is in window cleaner anyway but my Moisin Nagant is not hardly chrome lined anyhow. I use the walmart version of windex to neutralize the corrosives in the barrel and on the bolt face. Then clean like normal. Been doing it this way for a while and the barrel looks like new still and the bolt face looks no worse than any other rifle I shoot. -
Tony Siragusa needs to shut up...

foiled by reading comprehension once again. dunno where I got shot at home from?? Found this tidbit on Fox sports. I wonder if the suspension would be for being arrested or for possessing the gun period? Maybe the NFL trumps 2A It was also stated that he had a Florida carry permit which expired back in the spring. Not that it matters even if he renewed as it would not be valid where he was. -

i thought Burris shot himself at home. And the fact he was to be inactive for todays game was already known to him. I had guessed he was cleaning the thing. Football announcers ought to just stick to announcing football. Of course the NFL has an official policy encouraging players to not own guns. I wonder if the NFL had the netowrk throw their editorial opinion out there via the announcer. As a side note, I cleaned a gun today and somehow managed to not shoot myself. -
these would be my thoughts exactly. I have not even attempted to list anything since the change. The old way seemed better. I am guessing it is JC's fault.

the gun grabbing scum bags could give two ****s about the people who will not be able to defend themselves. They know darn well that 2A is about self defense and the ability to stand up to the gov't. The entire reason they want to ban guns is so they have the ability to put their foots on our necks. They could care less about that womans parents lying dead in a Lubys Restaurant. They want to remain in power and dissarming the populace is one way they can do it. **** the gun grabbers.

great story. why would he do 4 years in the Marines and then sign up with the Army? Anyone know? Is this normal?

something I learned many moons ago, now everyone pay close attention here. If it sounds to good to be true, it IS too good to be true. No such thing as a free lunch. I could go on...

I can't believe they hired Kiffen. The guy has NO head coaching experience aside from the gig with Oakland. Being an ass't coach at USC is not the same as being the head man at UT. USC recruits a lot easier than bumpkinville here does. And the cupboard is bare right now. The locals here like to pretend that UT is some top tier football school. I think this hire proves otherwise. Hamilton seems to have jumped at the first guy who would say yes to his offer. What happened to the model for when he hired "The Golden Jew" Bruce Pearl. Find a guy who is a head coach, one who has shown success at every stop along the way. Kiffen is no where near this model. This hire smacks of what Notre Dame did in hiring Charlie Weiss. Being a good or great OC does not translate into being a good head coach. I think UT will regret this hire. But since I live here I hope I am wrong and wish Kiffen years and years of success. As for his father leaving the NFL to come here, money is not an issue. Apparently Daddy is well off and has always wanted to coach with his sons. he will take the pay cut to come along for the ride. Here again being a success in the NFL as a DC may not translate to success in D1 college football. Every player in the NFL is a stud, even the ones who suck. He will not have that talent pool at UT.
