  1. Now thats the spirit!
  2. WalMart sells big thick coats, vodka at your local package store
  3. TDR, how low do you normally allow the fuel tank to get before buying gas? I never let my tank go below a quarter of a tank and I try to fill when it goes below half way. For those that don't know. The fuel pump is cooled by the gas in the tank. Allowing the pump to heat up on a regular basis is bad so I have been told. Also letting the tank get to empty allows accumulated crap in the fuel tank to get sucked down the line.
  4. I admit the Moisin Nagant has some kick to it. But man up I say. Hold that rifle to the shoulder and fire away. What would have happened on the Eastern Front if Ivan had refused to fight because he needed a pad on the butt of his rifle? if recoil is a problem then get a 22, LOL
  5. I had never heard this until this election cycle
  6. I will wait until it is aired on TBS
  7. I dunno if it is true or not. But I switch up who I buy gas from about every third tank or so. The purpose is that the cleansers added to fuel can leave a buildup inside your injectors. Buying gas from a different source now and again gives you a different cleanser which will clean out the previous cleanser buildup. Like I said I dunno if it is true but I have been told that by a guy who stayed at a Holiday Inn Express.
  8. which "sparky" are you referring to?
  9. It will be legal to carry in national parks on January 9, 2009. Anybody want to meet at the Chimney Tops Picnic area and have an O/C picnic?
  10. I wonder where Chattanooga gets its gas from? Exxon here (at least the two I buy from) has ethanol in its gas and it is noted on the pumps.
  11. thanks for the kind thoughts db I think maybe they are adding more ethynal to the gas now. Almost every pump i use claims something to the effect of "10% minimum ethynal added" I know that stuff kills MPG.
  12. Tower said fixed that for ya, Nothing evil about any of them. John Wayne Gacy=Evil, rilfes=not evil, Adolph Hitler=evil, semi automatic handguns=not evil ymmv
  13. so has this thread ever drawn a conclussion as to if you can leave your loaded gun in your console or glovebox while you are inside conducting your business?
  14. I always thought the winter gas was better. That along with cooler air provides more horsepower as well as better gas mileage. Summer they do stuff to gasoline so as it will not pollute as bad, therefore lowing MPG. I guess I have been wrong, LOL I am curious now. I feel like i have been duped my entire life.
  15. are you buying a lot in a subdivision or acreage? If it is in a subdivision there may well be a minimum square foot build allowed there. In a field next to us in east knox county they are building homes. Lots go for about $50,000 and you have to build a 2000 sq foot minimum house on it. Not cheap and no wonder in four years they have only built about ten homes.
  16. I think you should start this phone campaign and then adivse others how to join in.
  17. why would a criminal go to the trouble of filing off numbers? I guess there may be one or two criminals who buy their guns through gun shops. As for the others, I doubt they care about it.
  18. I turned the Statue of Liberty pic into wallpaper. Really good first post dude.
  19. threads like this are why I do not express opinion much anymore.

    rifle help

I have shot all of Marks milsurps mentioned. None of the "big 3" compare with that Swiss K-31. That rifle seemed to be in its own league as far as bolt action rifles go.
  23. I don't get this either. I was at both of those shows at the Expo Center and they both seemed fine to me. The last one at the Expo was fairly limited on gun sellers. I put that to be dwindling inventory at the gun shops who do the shows. Was it the biggest ever? I doubt it but I take advertisement with a grain of salt. I have never seen a show at the expo center that used the entire facility. It seemed cordoned off the same as always. I did not feel cheated for the 9 bucks I paid to enter. Certainly not any reason to go raise a stink over the admission fee. I thought every show I have been to at the Expo was better than at Chilhowee.
