  1. I have a basic rule I make known for those that will get me a christmas present. It has to fall in one of the following catagories. 1. Eatable 2. Drinkable 3. Smokable 4. Burnable 5. Shootable 6. Spendable My wife is the only one who gets a pass on those guidlines. Mother-in-law has it figured out. She gave me a five gallon bucket loaded with all kind of man food. I have not waded through it yet but I have already identified Slim Jims, Beef Jerky, Cheese Doodles and Chex Mix. There is about 4 gallons worth of space I have not laid eyes on yet !!
  2. For fun it is hard to top filling cans with water as targets or small trees. Shoot the cans and the water makes it very reactive. Smalls trees can be a hoot to take down with .22's
  3. whichever I see first, I shirt pocket sized semi auto in .32 or wait for it A Hi-Point 9mm compact.
  4. No Christmas Truce like they had in 1914. I heard some thumping this morning coming from the left side trap. Went to take a peak and their was a big ole chipmonk stuck on the little glue trap. He was fighting like all hell to get off. But no luck for him. He was a fiesty little devil. he had a hold of something up there and near came off the glue trap when I went to pull it out. Had to shake it a bit to get him to let go. He did not take very well to the .22 shotshell and I had to have a solemn burial service for him a few minutes later. Count to date, 5 chipmonks and two mice. PS: They are skeeving me out less and less each time I yank one out.
  5. I am making a run down to Kingston Saturday for a liquor delivery. I am very curious to what it looks like from the interstate. Dunno how the homeowners will rebuild there, or if they would even want to. That place looks fubared in the pictures.
  6. I got a pack of paper targets and a small pack of Shoot-N-See targets. Might put them to use later today.
  7. I like light colored wood on some battle rifles. It looks really good on that Mauser. Nicely done! CK I believe Guns and More on Papermill Drive has a few Mausers. Dunno for sure if they are Yugos or not but I believe they shoot 8mm, which they have rounds for too.
  8. I am one heapin' hunk of good looking man flesh!
  9. I was coming out of an auto parts store on the way home today. There was a dude messing with something under the hood of a car. I noticed he was open carrying some kind of semi auto handgun. It was impossible to miss the "badge". I could not resist. I lowered the passenger window of my truck and pointed towards his gun and asked if he was a cop. ( he really did not have that cop appearance about him) He said no. But not to worry as he had a permit from the state and the badge was his HCP badge (or something to that effect) I was chuckling so hard by that point it was all I could do to drive away safely. The look on his face as I was giggling was priceless.
  10. I yanked # 4 out of the eave just a bit ago. I thought I heard something up there last night when I was standing on the porch. I tapped at the eave and sort of chased the noise down the eave toward the trap. The noise stopped. I checked it after getting home today and there was a little chipmonk stuck on the trap. He must have worried himself to death. I was dissapointed he did not appear hungry. I was ready to feed him as I had the rest of his family. So that makes two adults, two juveniles and two mice so far. Punisher if you ever make it out this way let me know, I can show you how we roll in the 865. Never a dull moment at the house in the woods! My wife said she thought there was a donkey off to the side of the house this morning. She said it was way louder than what we usually hear from the ones down in the cow pasture. I looked around after burial detail today but saw no signs of a donkey.
  11. you probably ought to turn that pistol in as it is based on a design that was originally a military handgun.
  12. funny Punisher. Heard some footsteps earlier while I was on the porch. I am thinking mouse on this one though. They were pretty light on their feet compared to others I have heard.
  13. what is JES? I might be in the mood for a Hi-Point 9MM compact
  14. checked the traps and most of them were empty. Well actually all the ones in the eave were empty, but I left a cage type trap out and caught a little bird. Not what I had in mind. Dunno if the critters are gone. One of the cats sat on my wifes night stand and stared at the ceiling. Makes me think he hears something we don't he stared at the ceiling for like an hour. Anyone know what kind of family life chipmonks have? Do so far I have got two adults (mom and dad??) and one youthful one. I wonder do adults gather in groups or do they stick to a basic family unit?
  15. 44m, how about I can own something simply because I want it. Can't own military weapons? How does that logic work? The revolvers you show in your avatar are based on military weapons. Why can't an honest citizen own a military weapon. I own several. Does that make me a threat to anyone? What does the speedometer on your car max out at? Do you need to drive that fast? If not then why do you need it? Honestly when someone on a pro-gun forum acts like an anti I get worried.
  16. I am hopeful to go on Sunday. Maybe I will get lucky and get some kind of bonus to have a little to spend, heh.
  17. I keep a four of them in the garage year round. The peanut butter dissapears over time. I am guessing insects are eating it.
  18. meow
  19. well someone has to make up the .2 of a percent of HCP holders that improperly use their handgun. Still a very insignificant percentage.
  20. These two quotes are just to what I refer. Back in the day people got to know their neighbors. People got along. Nowdays people are all too quick to call the police instead of knocking on a door. All to quick to tell a neighbor to F off instead of working with them. I am glad I have nice neighbors. Can't we all just get along?
  21. If I got one last night he will be a chipcycle before I can get to him. It is about 12 degrees here now. To cold and dark for me to mess with it this morning. Time to leave for work. I did not hear anything last night but I am still hopeful I got another one.
  22. I say kill the thing. It will make its way into someones house. Nothing wrong with a white lie to the daughter.
  23. Suntzu you ought to just straight up go with the fanny pack. A big pink one! You are gay anyway
  24. I also would suggest take over a roll of deer sausage. Explain your plight and I bet they would work with you. Lots of posts here about how it is "my property and I will do what I want". Not a good way to develop a relationship with the neighbors. I shoot here at home almost every week. If one of my neighbors came over and asked nicely for me to curtail it on a certain day or at a certain time I would work with them. Especially so if they came offering some deer sausage, you get more flies with honey!
  25. When you give your son a handgun you are potentially giving him an heirloom. If it is a quality pistol your great grandchildren will shoot it. I say save the extra money up and get the boy a Ruger Single Six. His grandkids will thank you.
