  1. why don't you call the local sheriff's office and ask if it is against the law to discharge a firearm where you live? They aren't going to roll out on you for asking. If there is no ordinance against it they will tell you. Be sure of where the bullet is going. Generally you cannot fire towards a residence or other structure where people are expected be at.
  2. l would buy the gun and keep a record of who you bought it from. In the very unlikely event something happens you can then prove who you got it from. All used guns are not stolen, I would guess a extremely small percent turn out to be so.
  3. So what did everyone do on New Years Eve? I hung out with my 23 year old nephew and his pals at a cabin near Gatlinburg, then went into town for them for the ball drop and fireworks. It was a lot of fun. I have been meeting up with them for the last few years on New Years Eve. Makes me feel old. No way I can keep up with them kids anymore. I tried like heck though. I reminded myself why I don't go to bars anymore. I got drug to some bar/club in Sevierville at about 2:30 in the morning. I did not feel comfortable there at all. I was glad it was only one beer then go. There were a lot of drunken hotties in there though. At least I am not so old I did not realize why these guys liked the place. It has taken a whole day of naps to catch up from it all, LOL
  4. ahem, for the second time, in this regard Joe Biden would become the president. Doesn't matter if Obama is booted before or after swearing in.
  5. hey! enough of letting facts get in the way of a good story.
  6. My search fu is weak but I believe it has been determined that Biden would simply become the next president and in turn he would appoint the next VP
  7. I have heard some bad stories about Crowders. My only purchase experience there was a good one. Ended up with a revolver for about 60 bucks less than the original price I had agreed upon. Turned out that the price they quoted me was out the door, I was expecting tax and tics to be added on. Ended up being the best deal I have ever gotten on a gun. I am pretty sure what happened to me was an exception.
  8. who is she taking the course through?
  9. Seriously there is no telling what could happen in the next couple of years. Stock up on ammo. If a civil war did happen you don't want to get caught short.
  10. + 1 for those rounds. Accurate and recoil friendly. Have you tried any of the local gunshops? Worst comes to worst, if the day of her class happens and you have not found any let me know. I could set you up with 50 rounds.
  11. hey mr smarty pants, shouldn't you be looking for a job?
  12. It is a version of a Glock that does not KB
  13. everybodys favorite online discounter Cheaper Than Dirt has cocobolo grips for 20 bucks. I bought a pair and they are great. Don't know how anyone else gets 40 bucks for them http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/GRIP450-1.html
  14. OS said you have scruples.
  15. I went to the show today with Oh Shoot. I had a good time in spite of one setback. Could not find a 139.00 9mm Hi-Point compact. Found one that included a knife but the price was not suitable. Saw a 995 for 199 bucks, tried to talk OS into buying it but he would not commit. I ended up getting a IWB holster for my SP101, a 15 round Inland magazine for my M1, and box of bullets for a small handgun that remains to be seen if I got screwed or got a decent deal on. I will know more tomorrow hopefully. Was there when it opened and it was not crowded at all. Filled up pretty good by the time we left around 1:30. The prices on handguns seemed pretty fair. Actually down a little from the Thanksgiving show I went to. Ammo is still high, imagine that! Anyway it was fun.
  16. Your two cents are worth more than some other peoples dollars. Thats my two cents!
  17. I put a Hi-Point 995 in Macs hands today, he just would not "pull the trigger"
  18. okay, it should be spelled chipmUnk but I am not going back and correcting it, LOL. Nothing new to report, been very quiet since # 5 was dispatched. Oddly I am disconcerted by the lack of activity. Makes me wonder what they are up to.
  19. my boss, who has a buttload of spendable cash, pretty much will never go to coal creek again. Said he went in to look for a handgun and a holster for a Glock he carries. He told me he was basically made to feel that he was a bother and in the way. He had asked me if I have ever dealt there. I told him honestly I have never been in the door, but have heard tales such as his from several people on this site. There is a gun shop on my side of town I won't go back into for the same reasons I described above. Maybe the gun business is so good to the shop owners that they can pick and choose their customers now days. Now on the other hand I happened to visit Frontier Firearms today. It is way out of the way for me but I found myself on Rt 58 with time to kill. From the second I walked in the door I was made to feel like I was wanted there. I was asked if I needed anything in particular. I explained how I was just killing some time. I was told that was great and to make myself at home. I was offered something to drink. It may have been the nicest gun shop experience I have ever had. From the parking lot it does not look like much but once inside the door it was a very pleasurable experience. Heck I even dropped some dough on a couple of items I did not know I needed when I first went in. Now if I had been made to feel like a bother I would have walked around it once and left to never return. Maybe someone from there lurks here and if they do I say my hat is off to you and your way of doing business.

    Help me choose

gotta love when people ask what to buy, have a poll, and then buy what does not win the poll, LOL so why go through all this in the first place??? it don't matter, but it made me laugh a bit
  23. I believe it is all very possible. I seriously doubt that in the late 1920's and early 1930's people could fathom that the Germans would round people up to simply exterminate them. The Russians did it as well. I do not see the USA being immune to this stuff should guns be banned and confiscated by force.
  24. I went the Friday after Thanksgiving and there were a lot of empty tables yet. Vendors were still coming through the door about noon. I was told that it would be more filled up Saturday and Sunday. I am guessing it will be crowded as usual again.
  25. You all are a bunch of comedians. Seriously I wonder how many more there can be. I still can't figure out how they are getting in. We are starting to go with the theory that they have somehow tunneled and moving up through cinderblock into the walls and then to the attic space. At the rate I am going I will need to get another box of shotshells.
