Anyone else go? I got a call from the wife right before I left work. Seems a girl she works with had two extra tickets she could not sell off. Gave them to me and the wife. Would not take any money for them. I had never been to that arena for any event before. Getting in to park was a little tough but it all worked out okay. Seats were facing the stage in the upper deck. The band looks like specks on the stage but they had a couple of big screens to make up for that. Seating in that place is cramped for a fatboy like me. No legroom, i was pretty darn stiff after being there for three hours. but it was well worth any aggravation. They played for over 2.5 hours, with about a 15 minute intermission. Played a bunch of the new album as well as almost all the classics. Every time I have seen them with Joe Walsh he has stole the show. Last night I thought he did it again. really good rendition of Funk 49. No Rocky Mtn Way though. They did one encore with two songs to end the night. I am glad I followed the law and did not carry. They were wanding everyone who went through the gate we used. No doubt having a pistol would not have ended up very well. But I did not feel unsafe at anytime while on campus. It is the only "dry" concert I have ever been too. that was kind of strange. I wonder if the band noticed a subdued sober crowd. i guess I got lucky getting out of the parking garage. we ended up parking in G10 (for those of you that know the lots) Got out of there and was back home in about an hour after leaving the concert.

More On National Park Carry
Mike.357 replied to steamnsteel's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I wondered about the restroom scenario too. Now common sense would say that a public restroom in a campground or a picnic area would not qualify as breaking the intent of the law. But we all know how that may play out. But I am guessing next time I picnicing down in the park I will just go take care of my business. Doc, last time I camped in the Smokies, while before the law change on jan 9, we were able to take care of it from the outside of the building. They had a little window. Not that it mattered I was abiding by the law that day anyway. -
Fitting statement even today

I personally don't care what tag anyone wants to hang on themselves. It is not important in relation to the office he now holds. Like it or not the guy is the president. Does not matter what his heritage is. There are plenty of legitimate beefs to have about him being the chief, lets focus on those. I consider myself a native american btw.

I must have missed that.

No, God help Barack Obama. I did not vote for him, I do not care for his politics. But I do hope he is the best president the country has ever had.

Tower said thank God there is someone here besides me who is not going to use some lame ass lie about selling them or dropping them off the boat.

If and that is a BIG if, the law is ever changed it will not be anytime soon. Late summer maybe by the time it goes through committee and then maybe makes it onto the floor for a vote. Then it has to go to the other legislative branch. Provided it gets through there then the Governer has to sign it. Not happening anytime soon.

I knew I cancelled HBO last week for more important reasons than saving a few bucks.

carry more and more and you will get over it. I think it is normal to be nervous and concerned about being made. Carry at home to get used to the feel of it. After a while you will feel like something is missing when it is not on you.

Bk hit it. The bullet tumbles and leaves a hole similar to the keyhole in old style door locks that accepted a skeleton type key. My Ruger Single Action Six does it if I get a lead build up in the barrel. I have also read that a damaged barrel crown can cause that as well.

Congrat's thats great, now all you have to do is file the paperwork with TDOS, go and get you CCW badge and check the mail daily for the next three months.

Obama calls for new Declaration of Independence

Thats a great pic Daniel. Reminds me of a book I read once called Guns of the South Punisher says A big 10-4 to that! And to the guy who posted a couple of link to some pics. While I certainly am no fan of the annointed one, I really do not see any similarity in those pictures. -
Congress wants to repeal the 22nd Amendment

the only way something like this would happen is if the new messiah makes the US the greatest place in world to live. Oh wait we already have that. Heck a president is lucky if they can be elected to a second term. No way can one get elected for life. No way will 3/4 of the country agree on much of anything. All this rosy glow about the Big O will fade soon enough. I give him 6 months before he seriously shoots himself in the foot or the ass. -
either a stone, the one in the sheath works fairly well, or a little gadget looking knife sharpener i have. You pull the knife through it a few times on one side then turn it over and repeat. Comes out purty dang sharp.

Here are the three I have that get the most use. Top one is an all purpose deal I really only use when camping. It can do most anything from digging a hole to flipping burgers. I have had it for about thirty years. The middle knife is great when a sawing motion is required. Mostly a camping knife but I keep it handy in the garage. this one was part of a set I was given years back. The entire set is great for camping or even in the kitchen, not sure what it takes to dull it. Sharp now as the day I first got it. The Swiss Army knife is sharp enough to take your arm off. It holds an edge and takes an edge. I suppose I could shave with it in a pinch. It is the knife I never leave home without. It gets used daily.

The last place they need to look is this board or others to see if I claim gun ownership. They can start with TDOS where I have a current HCP. I dunno, but I wonder how many people have a carry permit but do not own a handgun. Then there is the various places where my name is on a 4473. At least three of those forms are in the ATF's possession due to those FFL's having gone out of business. I seriously doubt that if they come for my guns they will accept some lame excuse about having sold mine, or a boating accident etc... If that was the case you better have paperwork noting guns were sold, when they were sold and for how much. Those papers better look like they were not written recently. I advise all of you who will claim this to practice your forgery. Guns lost in a boating accident? Whose boat? What waterway? Why no insurance claim? If the time comes where they are going door to door to request a turn in you either will turn them in, hide them away where you will have a felony hanging over your head forever, or use them. I like to think I know which option I would choose. But do I worry that they will find me from an internet gun board, no.

if you are going to kill them for food you ought to feed them for a month or so to fatten them up

Obama calls for new Declaration of Independence

More feel good-do nothing posturing by the president select. No doubt a new BoR and Constitution will be proposed as well. I found this in a CNN story, This part of a paragraph outlined items prohibited in DC for the innauguration I hope it pours down rain all day long Tuesday. Of course seeing as he is the new messiah he probably can control weather. -
can more than one firearm be in the same hard case? I am thinking of where a BUG is taken along with a primary carry piece.

I do not believe there is any way possible to get cash from an ATM without the PIN. It must have been written on the card or else whoever stole it knew the number. Instead of a signature I always write in that space PIC. I.D. ONLY. The clerk does not always look and ask for ID though. I more hope that the person who steals it or finds it will be discouraged from using the card that way. Way more often than not as long as the clerk handles the card I get asked for ID. But a lot of stores now days have a self scan type of pay system. Even if it is run as credit the clerk does not handle the card. Best advice is to take your time and put the card away before leaving the check out area, even if it means the guy behind you has to wait 30 seconds extra.

he sounds like a whack-job. Ought to fit right in with the incoming administration.

reminds me of an old joke, Why are divorces so costly? Because they are worth it!
