  1. if it is corrosive be sure to clean the barrel with soap and water or some ammoniated window cleaner in addition to regular cleaning after shooting it.
  2. congrat's on you membership in the church of JMB. It is a sickness, hope you enjoy it Joel. Leave it stainless. You can always get a black gun later on.
  3. the "intent to go armed" charge while a misdemeaner is one that will cause you to lose you right to own firearms. At best it will cost you several thousand dollars to defend the charge, even if it is dismissed. Don't do it.
  4. sorry I missed you too 70below, i have heard rumors that Seaslug is totally untacticool anymore. I really did not believe it and wanted to see for myself. SUNTZU verified some horrible truth though. Rando said uhhhh. :doh:I see we sort of met yesterday. Next time we will need a proper introduction. It was SUNTZUS fault, I will be flat out honest about that.
  5. two very fine choices! Hope you can make it out to a shoot when we do it at Mark@seas range. Welcome to TGO
  6. Went as planned with SUNTZU and OhShoot. Had a great time. Maybe it was the company I was keeping or the little something something that followed me home but the gun show was a good one. Prices seem to be getting back to normal on pistols and there was a large variety of them available. AK's and SKS were still bringing a premium. Not gonna pay 450 for a SKS or 750 for an AK, just ain't gonna do it. Ammo continues to be out of this world. I guess it is something we will all have to get used to. Doubt it is gonna come down much any time soon. Lots of tables, and yes there were the typical t-shirts,beef jerky and knives. But they are okay to look at too. Saw a few familiar faces and met a few new people. Got to meet Garufa not long after going in. Met the fine guys at the TNSG booth. Just missed Seaslug somehow but SUNTZU talked to him. The place was packed when we went in a little before 1PM, but by about 3 it had thinned out nicely. it was fun and I look forward to going to another. Oh yeah, the little something something that followed me home is a NIB Springfield XD45, This emoticon pretty well describes how I feel about it Hoping to put some rounds through it tomorrow.
  7. I agree with what OS has come up with. The owner of the business gets a pass on it, not employees.
  8. I wonder if there is a provision for the possession of firearms by prohibited individuals. Oh wait there are already laws pertaining to that. Reads to me that are trying to work against law abiding citizens once again. Got to love open ended laws, so what else will the AG determine is appropriate? What a loser of a bill. I will not comply.
  9. Cherish the memories, hold them close to you. Tell him how loved he is. I think i will hug the oldest grandson a little tighter tonight ( he is spending the weekend) I am sure your Grandpa would do the same for you. Grieve not. Passing is another chapter of life. Hang in there bud.
  10. selective pain is good for the soul
  11. I tried to ditch SUNTZU but he is meeting us there at 1. We will be easy to find, look for the ugly large guy, the ugly old fat guy, and the really old guy.
  12. thats the one I like to hear!
  13. Welcome to TGO from Corryton. No doubt you will find what you are looking to learn about. Lots of great folks too, aside from me, I am a jerk. (a bunch of them will vouch for that too!) if you need help with swarming chipmunks I am your guy.
  14. I hope you gave as good as you got dude. Have two beers with the meds, it works wonders. Back to the peeing midget. HIV is not passable through pee is it? Dookey I don't doubt but I am not so sure the peeing midget was much of a danger to anyone.
  15. it will come long before this. if and when they ever ban guns that ban will not come in the dark of the night. It will be during prime time when all the sheeple are at home watching network news. If congress resorts to conducting midnight sessions so secritive we know not what they are doing the time will have arrived. When the 2 amendmant is laid to waste the time will have come. At what point did the founders of this nation decide to take action? History has a way of repeating itself. When the time comes it will be very obvious.
  16. right on Doc. +1
  17. I have been giving this quote a lot of thought since reading the post. I do not want to needlessly die for a vain cause. I really do not think this a vain cause. I think it is a cause worthy of the ultimate sacrifice. I know in my heart that I would lay down my life for my wife, kids or grandkids. No thought about it. I would do it in a heartbeat. Doing this would be as involuntary as sneezing. What kind of life will my family have if I die over 2A? I guess they would get along. I ask myself how it must have been in the 1760's and 1770's when the framers and revolutionaries in this country made their move. Did they think about the consequences and what would come of their families? Surely they did. What would have come of this country if they had not taken action? We would have remained subserviant to a foreign crown at the very least. These people risked their lives for the chance at freedom and democracy. Is it not a worthy cause to risk ours to retain these things? Sometimes lives must be lost or risked to retain freedoms we feel God has given us. Not even really that. These are rights we have simply because we exist as human beings. I am not so sure I am willing to give them up so easily and without a fight. Even if that fight will cause hardship on my wife, kids and grandkids. There are greater causes than what is best right now for ourselves and our families. I hope this makes sense to you who reads it.
  18. Someday down the road when order and the constitution is restored they will name high schools after some of us that defended freedom Of course the sports teams at my school will be called the "Fightin' Chipmunks"
  19. so did'ja hear they are going to make bullet makers mark their bullets so they can track them criminals down? I searched but could not find it.
  20. Screw that kind of BS the OP is referring to. I am too old and too fat to much give a damn. I own guns, somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 of them. Some of them evil and scary some of them not so much. So you make up some lie about selling them. What is the freaking point to that? You gonna hide them then take them out of the hidey hole and fondle them in the dark like a 13 year old with a stack of nudie magazines does?
  21. I am with you Poak. I find it idiotic when people say that crap. Although it may be in jest it still gets under my skin as I have posted in a couple of other theads. I seriously doubt the first person is on the board and does not own guns. Be proud of your ownership and be ready to man up when the day comes. No slinking allowed, no claiming you sold them to a black man in the hood, no bad fishing trips. Besides, if the day comes they bash in your door to get them does anyone think they will believe that crap anyway?
  22. If King George the Second had been presented a AWB bill he would have signed it. Certainly McCain would have signed it had he won this time out. No reason to be hating on the Big O over it all, . The Dem's have had control of congress and have not been able to get this to the presidents desk. I believe they will wait until another Columbine/Va Tech type incident happens and then try to get it done.
  23. I may assemble the chipmunks and sic him on this loon. thats if I do not make a stew out of them first. Unbelievable this dude saying you can't have people over to throw lead on your own (non-city limits) private property. I would like to see him enforce that.
  24. While I do not live in his county I will continue to shoot in my county on my land as I see fit. I will also determine who can come and shoot with me. Pretty simply, my land, no ordinance against gun fire. Not for anyone but me to decide who shoots here.
  25. I am debating whether or not to go. Don't have any money to speak of to blow there. But it is fun to go and be with like minded people and look at what on display. In spite of what some people say there are deals to be had. you just have to have an idea about what you want and what you are willing to pay. I could think of worse ways to spend a few hours.
