    SUPER BOWL

I hate the Steelers, no suprise they won because of that
  2. All three of my grandsons have them, two of them under two years old. I think they take care of that at the hospital when they are born nowdays.
  3. one big drawback to a revolver is being able to properly do a double tap with it. But then again the double tap IMHO overrated. The average person is not going to be able to pull off an accurate double tap anyway.
  4. sorry for your family's loss. Hold on to the memories, encourage the others to do the same. He will still be there for everyone in this way and keeping hims around is what matters.
  5. as for shoes, slip ons are your friend:) Astra don't be sorry you brought it up, I give you kudos for manning up and replying back to most all the points raised. I think depending on how you act that anyone might be somewhat thankful for a tip or two. Especially when all you are really doing is turning them onto a resource that would be helpful if they choose to check it out.
  6. I have to admit I am trying to see it your way Astra and I am just not feeling it. All of us started somewhere. I am trying to remember if I knew how to load a pistol the first time I bought one. Can't remember. I am sure I asked the sales clerk. It is not the clerks job to tell a guy to go get training. The clerk works for the retailer, sell the gun is his part of the equation. 2A gives the couple the right to purchase a handgun. Basically even the dumbest knucklehead in the US should be allowed to own a handgun training or not. One hopes they take the time to ask questions. Even if the question is where the bullet goes. Its a start. I still think you could have been a big help by volunteering some information. Did they buy the gun?
  7. Nice looking pistol. I will ask a dumb question. In the first pic there is a long key. Where does it go and what purpose does it serve?
  8. I like to think that in this situation I would have taken the opputunity to make some small talk with the couple and asked the clerk for a pen and a slip of paper. Then I could write down "www.tngunowners.com" and encourage them to check this place out as a source for information. They sound like they had interest but need a way to learn. New gun owners may have no clue about the wealth of knowledge that can be gained by a few hours of surfing sites like this one. Better they learn here than from TV shows like NCIS. I think you dropped the ball.
  9. I saw them in 1980. They were the opening act for ZZ Top. Only memorys of it were that they were really loud and some huge bouncer type guy carried Angus on his shoulders around the floor of the Coliseum as he played a solo. Ticket was $9.50 (still got all my old ticket stubs.)
  10. I wonder how this is all working out for her.
  11. Good god Mac, next time you need a walk come up this way, a .22 is good enough to keep the coyotes away . I now picture the park you have mentioned walking in. I think the NBR might be what you need for that walk.
  12. that place would be better if it did not take three days to cross it. And if course if they allowed OC
  13. my original thought was "blasphemer" but what the heck. The idea is to get you carry permit. that is the bottom line. Take the class, learn what you need. then buy your carry guns somewhere else. Anyone else wonder if Uselton wishes he had refused that interview?
  14. Scenarios are plentiful. I agree, what are the chances of needing so many rounds. but what are the odds of needing to deploy a firearm to being with. I dunno who it was but someone said "I never heard anyone say I wish I had less ammo"
  15. lets see, James T Kirk is a character, girl in a bra in the trailer. Spock.... Gotta see it. I was expecting a bald dude on the con, this looks way better.
  16. not to be argumentative, but I think the MG42 trumps it
  17. OS mentions See that is a great point I was not even thinking about when I posted originally. There was a story at Knoxnews.com today about a guy in the Noog (I think, to lazy to go look again) who staked out his business and as luck would have it the place got robbed. He held one bad guy at gunpoint waiting for cops and he was found shot when the cops got there. the story lead me to believe another BG was there too.
  18. wwwhhhhhhaaaaat? I don't get to have my special time with the dead hookers anymore?
  19. This has probably been hashed out before, but lets do it again. How many rounds do you carry when you leave the house? Why do you carry that many? If I have the SP101 I carry 5 in the gun, and a speed loader with five more in my pocket. Full box of twenty in the truck console. Now that I have an XD45 I will carry 14 in the gun plus a mag of 13 in my pocket depending on where I am at. In the warehouse at work I think the loaded gun is plenty. In Walmart or the bank etc it will be 14 in the gun plus a spare mag of 13 in the pocket. And of course the .25 with 7 rounds as a bug.
  20. the gov't has to find my house before they can kick in my door. I spent a week trying to convince a bank that my home exists in spite of them not understanding my mail address and home adress are two different things. My mail address really does not exist aside from the square foot my mail box sits on, LOL. All I need to do is leave the mail box where it is at and then post big ass numbers on the house with the property address. They will never find me All my 4473 stuff lists the mail address. I have never been able to figure out why the two are different. Now I got it figured out. Like a bolt of lighting it has just hit me. The guy who built the house and owned it for twenty years had his tin foil hat screwed on tight, he did it to keep the man off his neck. Sweet!
  21. had opportunity to go to WalMarts on Millertown Pk. and Halls today. I was looking for .45Auto. No luck for me. No bulk packed .22's at either as well. Both did have a relatively large amount of Blazer Brass .40S&W in case anyone here is in need.
  22. thats a phrase not often heard. I dunno, I would eat it lacking anything else and being really really hungry, other than that YUCK!
  23. Aside from the Carbine they were well stocked on handguns at pretty much fair prices. They seemed to be doing more selling than standing around. I doubt the two pretty girls doing the paperwork hurt business much either
