  1. I figured that place would be the first choice. I also think there is a lot of positive potential to show gun shops and the gun culture in a very favorable light. There can still be plenty of humor in it. No doubt there is a lot of stress in running a gun shop/shooting range. With stress comes humor. It would also give a chance to show how gun shop owners keep it legal and above board through hard work and dedication. Good luck JWP I hope it happens for you all. I also do not doubt that there may be more than one production company persuing a show like this.
  2. a joke so good it had to be told twice
  3. ya think? Did he really have a choice? And if he dove in front of a bullet intended for the Gipper I would say he is a heluva man.
  4. vinegar will remove gun blue very easily try www.MPIonline.biz for a product called Van's Instant Gun Blue. You can buy a kit or just the blueing. I have used it and it seems to have worked great.
  5. Daniel, did you eat your MRE yet? Anyone know when the next Knoxville show is? That last one was a hoot.
  6. Thats a heck of an offer JWP. I am sure you will get some eager applicants. Someone ought to do a reality TV show based on a gunshop. Similar to the tattoo shows and motorcycle shops they feature on shows. I can't believe it is already not being done.
  7. Tried to order from them Friday night too. It would not except my order. I have been told them are running months behind too.
  8. I always order from them using the internet. I ordered Friday night and something went wrong with the debit card part of it all. Still don't know why it did not go through. At any rate they called me Monday and we sorted it out. I also took advantage of the call to up the order a bit, LOL I am going to really start rationing myself on how much M1 shooting i do. Well under 1000 rounds on hand and getting more is hard. Checked Sportmans Guide today and the 500 round deal is gone. I am to stingy to lay out for 1000 rounds right now. I am sure I will regret that though. Have plenty of .22's on hand. I will switch back to shooting them for a while.
  9. Price I can live with. thanks

    one word, parole
  11. I have ordered large, medium, and very small quantities of ammo from Ammunitiontogo. Never had anything but great service and delivery by the the time I was told UP FRONT it would be delivered. Now if they only had some relatively inexpensive .30cal carbine rounds.
  12. There currently is not the slightest bit of talk about a revolver ban being part of AWB. I am not sure Ruger is doing the right thing at the right time. I think I would get all my resources going towards making the LCP and other auto loaders. Every LCP I have seen is way way way overpriced. Must be because they are hard to get. Maybe Ruger could sell more of them if they made more of them instead of worrying about a niche in a market that is non-existent. I really do not see the purpose of this revolver, but if you like it then go and get one.
  13. shotshells. gonna switch to .38 shotshells after the last debacle executing the rodent. No I don't blow holes in the roof. Executions take place in the yard. Yanno, offer the blindfold, give them a smoke, then BANG! Got 500 fo-fi's enroute.
  14. I placed an order with them Friday night. It shipped today. Looks like maybe they have their time issues solved. About two months ago I ordered and it took two weeks for it to arrive. Yay Me! Who needs walmart to be able to buy .45acp? Not me!
  15. I have found a BB in the butt gives the same result.
  16. It works pretty well in spite of any drawbacks. On all sales I have made the "commit to buy" thing was never used anyway. Just a PM to me saying they wanted it along with a phone number to set up the deal always worked well. Of course no one has back out on me yet anyway. If it is doing all that it can do, no one can really expect more out of it.
  17. I think the Halls store still sells them, and Oak Ridge maybe, and I am thinking I saw them at East Town too????
  18. not to criticize, I don't like criticizing without offering a fix. I found/find the classifieds not very friendly to use. I ain't a computer whiz or tech guy (whatever) but I am not totally ignorant either. I recently listed a pistol for sale. It took a while to figure it out. Then when I edited the ad it erased comments that had been left. I had a very hard time with leaving a comment for the purchaser of that pistol too. Finally got it done but it seemed too hard. I also am not sure about banning someone who backs out of a buying something. There may be a valid reason for backing out. Maybe get rid of the commit to buy thing all together. But I do see where it would be frustrating to think you have something sold, show up for the meet and get 'no showed" on. I guess I have been lucky when selling some things here or playing middleman. Never had a problem. But it is not my home so you all do what you think needs doing.
  19. Here ya go, not totally an online deal though. A few years ago I desired to find out my late fathers military records. He served in WW2 in the Navy. There is a site that you can begin the process on. But you will need to send information by snail mail. You can do the entire thing by snail mail. Okay did some digging through the paperwork I ended up with. Try this url for national archives and records administration http://www.archives.gov/st-louis/ if you are a deceased veterans next of kin you can request info from http//:vetrecs.archives.gov Here is the address that i dealt with National Personnel Records Center Military Personnel Records 9700 Page Avenue St. Louis, Missouri 63132-5100 I had to have his Social security number. I was lucky that my step dad is awesome with paperwork even in his 80's and he had my father SSN in his records. I received my fathers entire military service record. Shows enlistment records, where he was stationed at any time, citations, notice of seperation. Lots of cool stuff to know finally. Good luck with it!

had not a flake on the ground a little more than an hour ago, Now this
  25. Today was a brand new day. They have reinforced and attacked before dawn. My defenses of glue traps once again took them down. So far I suspect that only a scouting mission was sent out. They probably were giving one last ditch effort to find their lost brethren or to see if Vince had chopped their nuts. A suicide mission it was. One of theirs gave his life on a lost cause. I must show respect to the furry little guerilla, he did not go quietly. I offered a blind fold and he spat in my face calling me a filthy fat human. Dared me to go about my task. I shot him once, thought it was done. Oh no, he cursed me again saying something about me smelling of Elderberries. I shot him again, he then made some rude comment about my mother. No mercy for him. Brought out the heavy stuff. He was flattened and sent to his maker by a simple shovel. Now to reset a new glue bomb and wait for the next wave.
