  1. I think it would take a real hard ass to bust you for having your concealed weapon in a restroom. But if it is concealed no one will know anyway. I would like a definitive answer to if a restroom qualifies as a federal building. In my mind the purpose is to keep the sheep in the vistor centers safely unaware. The libs and anti's point out the very low rate of crime in a national park. It is true I suppose. But why I want to carry in a park is that a crime there seems to be more catostrophic than just a wallet snatch or cooler robbery. People get kidnapped and killed when a crime is committed in the park, thats what I worry about and that is what I am defending. Not too mention the real time for crime is entering your hotel/motel room. Gun needs to be ready at that moment as well.
  2. its been on here before. One of the seach geeks will be by shortly with the link
  3. Lifetime moves are only bested by Hallmark channel movies IMHO. These are the types of things Rosie ought to devote her energy too.
  4. I assume they could line up the paddy wagons and arrest near everyone at those shows. At least those carrying firearms to sell or trade along with anyone who purchased one. I am not aware of any laws that ban gun possession but then allow for guns in other instances. I guess the KPD agrees to look the other way. Or maybe being that guns are unloaded makes them legal.

    Springfield XD 45

you missed out on a real good deal on that XD
  6. I would have it checked out then shoot it providing it is in working order. A gun sitting unfired is really no more than a door stop. Personally being able to fire it and taking it out and using it would increase any sentimental value it has.
  7. I have posted this before. It is a Stevens Model 62 .22 rifle I got on the cheap from pawn shop. The stock was a plain black polymer type. After removing the action, trigger and barrel and after thoroughly cleaning the stock of oil and dirt I sprayed it white. Used paint from WalMart. Some kind of Krylon made to adhere to plastic specifically. I then put strips of blue masking take on a piece of glass to cut them into patterns. I adhered those to the white painted stock. Using other pieces of blue masking tape I filled in the gaps I did not want black on. I then sprayed black onto the stock. After the paint was dry I carefully pulled off the blue masking tape then clear coated the rifle stock several times. Took parts of two days to complete the task. Mostly lost time due to making sure the paint completely dried before moving on to the next step. final cost to do this was less than 9 bucks.
  8. Mark I might pick up a few boxes of that when I see you in April. FWIW is was shooting without a bi-pod or any stable support. Used the steering wheel of the golf cart to lean against with my elbow. That little Savage rifle is pretty accurate and I enjoy the single shot nature of it too. I also have a Savage MkII GL that is a pretty fair shooter aside from not having peep sights. That one is scoped. Maybe I will use it next time. I really found the variances on point of impact interesting. At the distance I was shooting I did not originally think POI would vary that much. I will keep my eyes open for other types of match ammo and standard velocity stuff. At the distances I normally shoot I have not found mini mags to be any better than the regular bulk stuff.
  9. there is still a lot of wooded and semi rural land in the east town area. What wild life there is gets squeezed by the new subdivisions. The coyotes need somewhere to live too. So there is the catch. I can't remember ever seeing a story on the news of in the News Sentinel about coyotes attacking pets or kids. I doubt she has anything to worry about. In fairer weather we hear coyotes all the time around here. I have had them drinking out of the water feature off the front porch. Of course I can take pot shots at them if I want too. I have over heard local ranchers in a store complain about them though.
  10. less than fifty yards, forty maybe??? Thanks for all the tips Brian. I wish I had more of the standard velocity Aguila ammo. I would like to apply the more than fifty rounds theory to that stuff. Those rounds showed real promise. I can stretch out the distance a little, maybe up to 75 or 80 yards. Does it matter what twenty rounds I put through the rifle before shooting for accuracy? IE: run twenty of some bulk packed lead ammmo then try the Aguila Eagle Match. The next nice day we get that I am free I will try it with using more fouling rounds before shooting for accuracy.
  11. Since the weather was fairly nice today I decided to finally do something I have been wanting to do with a .22 rifle. I gathered up several different brands and types of .22 lr ammo to do a little test. In this test I used - Savage Cub Mini Youth Single Shot bolt rifle with peep sight. Ammo is as follows. 1. Federal Champion High Velocity that has an uncoated 40 gr solid lead bullet. This is regular run of the mill inexpensive ammo. Not the bulk packed stuff. This was shot at the upper left part of the target. 2. Aguila Eagle .22 LR Match for Rifle. It is a lead uncoated 40 grain solid bullet. This is fairly high dollar ammunition. This was shot at the bottom left of the target. 3. CCI Stinger .22 LR. There is no info on the packaging as to bullet weight. It is a copper coated hollow point bullet. Packaging claims it is the worlds fastest .22 lr round. This was old stuff, price marked from Walmart was 2.22 for fifty rounds. This was shot at the upper right corner of the target. 4. Aguila Super Extra Standard Velocity .22 LR. This is a 40 grain solid lead bullet. It was shot at the bottom right. I used CCI Mini Mags to re-sight in the rifle before doing the test. That ammo is old stuff too. Price from a Walmart sticker is 1.04 for a 50 round cardboard box. I used about 25 rounds to make sure point of aim was somewhere near point of impact. The five rounds I had left after the test I put into the center of the target. The barrel was hot by then so accuracy and grouping was not exceptional. But the groups from the test sighting were pretty good for me. Point of Aim was the center of the 4 little black squares near each corner of the target. Note how only the Aguila Match ammo was near the center of where I was aiming. All the rest had distinctively different points of impact. Seems the Stinger had the best grouping but it was way off of point of aim. I am also fairly confident I had one god awful shot with each type of ammo. I think I flinch about once out of ten shots. I also swabbed out the bore with a dry patch between each brand of ammo. The Match ammo far and way was the dirtiest. Here is the result For me the Stingers would work best but there is no point in sighting the rifle to shoot a bullet I only have 40 rounds left of. The Aguila on the bottom right is real good too, but I am about out of that as well. Still 450 rounds of the Match ammo so I am leaving it sighted for that. Might try some bulk pack ammo tomorrow, Rem Gold, Federal Bulk and Winchester Bulk.
  12. And I had my hopes up that this thread was about bacon and eggs, or sausage and pancakes.
  13. maybe if you voted you would not get called so frequently:shrug:
  14. top of the food chain milsurp bolt rifle.
  15. You or anyone can call it what you want. It does not change the fact that it is a murse. A murse is gayer than a fanny pack.
  16. This is where I really have a problem with the whole deal. No way are they coming into my house without a warrant. Could they get a warrant? Probably. Would they have to have it to search? Definitely!
  17. I got one but have not sent it back yet. I plan on returning it. Crow about gun rights on internet message boards. How else?
  18. How that would not be an infringement I do not know. I do not see anyone using a backdoor on gun legislation. They will trumpet it out loud for everyone to hear. Besides it is political suicide in a lot of districts.
  19. Nah, had plenty of ammo. The only thing I dislike about this new found freedom of toting a gun in the park is that it must be concealed. I assume concealed means you can't be found carrying a gun just by sight. I carried a less bulky revolver and made extra effort to conceal it.
  20. Don't be sorry. I can't hardly ever find anything I am searching for. And not to worry about the libs sliding something in on us in the dark of night. When they get ready to try for another AWB it will be all over newsprint, radio and television. I think they have enough on their plates now with the economy, the messiah, and even racial equality. Guns aren't up to bat just yet.
  21. Right on Mousegunner. I am with you!! I don't have one but I am gonna get one. I can clearly see now that while it may look gay, a man's man can wear one and not look any less manly. And on top of that, I might look like Richard Simmons wearing one but I could care less what you bunch of homophobic Nancy's think. Wait until you get old, wrinkled and fat and see if you care then. It looks entirely functional and it really could be fairly tacticool. As an answer to the OP's question No a man can't. But the real question to ask is why do you care if you look gay. A man does what a man wants to do.
  22. obviously they do not feel the same way the AG does about things. can't have it both ways.
  23. this thread is very entertaining. I just wish it was someone else house being invaded, LOL Monkatraz, Chipmo, you all are killing me.
  24. don't you all get this stuff to your email inbox direct from the NRA? If not then you need to join!
  25. I just left the WalMart on Gallaher. Finally something in stock there. I left with three bulk packed 550 boxes of Remington Golden Bullet. 16.97 per box before taxation. If you hurry there were three boxes left. Thought I would be a good guy and leave some for others. Did not see any 9mm or .45Auto. Did not see much else as a matter of fact. And the .22 bulk boxes were tucked away in the corner of the top shelf of the cabinet. Not where they normally would be kept.
