Glad to see that you finally at home. I am really looking forward to the shoot, the camping part of it too. I am hoping for some dry weather but I am prepared for most circumstances for camping. I have been holding off shooting the M1 so I have an ample supply of ammo to shoot. Going to bring the SKS and Mosin Nagant too. Love the service rifles! I will probably bring the '58 Remington to make a nice cover of smoke too. I don't think I have shot that piece with regular cap and ball loads since you were home last time. I need to strip it down and clean the dyno oil out of it to make it shootable for the Holy Black. Don't let Sue wear you out with the honey do list.

Go in through the Sears store. I do not believe it is properly posted. I don't think it is posted at all actually.

From what I have read that is prohibited, restaurants with on premise consumption would be the main concern. I think we will be in a park or two but no national parks or WMA's. I will wrestle with the decision until I have to make it.

thanks for the rundown Fallguy. That is pretty much what I have been finding too. I feel I am damned if I do and damned if I don't, LOL. I pretty much am willing to roll the dice and go naked, but I will sure feel like I am missing something if I do. It would be easier if I had a definite itinerary for while I am there. The only thing I know for sure we are doing is going to Tombstone one day and that will most likely involve eating at a place that serves.

I am going to Arizona in about eleven days for a long weekend. Debating whether or not I want to take my carry piece and bug with me. I am not sure if I am at more risk carrying where I am unsure of laws, or more at risk from criminal types. Mistakes either was could be bad news. Gonna google it to try and learn. I am mostly curious about park carry and restaurant carry. I am pretty sure OC is legal as is CC. I also understand my TN HCP is acceptable there. I can transport in checked luggage with the airline. Was hoping someone here might have some insight onto their laws.

I can't even imagine how bad it is now. I have been gone over 7 years now. When we first moved there was very little west of 441. when we moved out in 02 there was a lot of growth to the west. We had a rat problem for a while when they built on the other side of 441 from us. They tore down the woods, drained the swamp and the rats headed out way across the street. I preferred summer time there as opposed to snow bird season. I do not miss hurricane season, hardly even pay attention to it anymore. I have fished off the Deerfield Pier many times but definitely preferred fishing in the glades. Almost got stranded out there once. My friend Mel owned the boat but had no vehicle to pull it. So that is how I became his fishing partner. One time he neglected to put the plug in. We boated for about an hour out into the middle of nowhere and settled in a spot to fish. After a few minutes I noticed my feet were wet. I looked down and by then it was over my ankles, I yelled to Mel to get the boat moving or we would sink. By then it was near up to my knees and about to wash over the back of the boat, I went to my knees and stuck my finger in the plug hole just in time. He got the boat moving and I pulled my finger out. the water started draining out as we moved. I did not mind so much except he soaked my damn lunch but good. We got the boat drained, found the plug and inserted it. Kept on fishing. It was a semi-scary experience. I have not been there since my son got married about 4 years ago. Dunno if I will ever go back.

seems like a cut and dried choice.

I lived in West boca almost on 441 near Palmetto

Yeah, like you guys have never been arrested after fighting with a hooker.

I have always wanted to try fly fishing, it looks like it is sort of an art and could be very good for the soul. When I lived in Florida one of our neighbors was from Quebec. He was only around during winter months. He saw me coming home one day with my bait casting rig. I used to bass fish the canal and ponds in the complex. He told me he was a fly fisherman back at home but had always wanted to try to bait cast and go for bass like I was doing. We made a deal that he would teach me fly fishing and I would teach him bass fishing. Sadly though it never came together. he went back to Canada for summer, we moved to TN. Never saw him after that. And I have pretty much not fished at all since we moved here. Bass fishing in the Everglades is the one thing I really miss about living in Boca. I spent every Monday for about 4 years on a boat out there with a friend. Monster Bass were the order of the day, that and big ass alligators.

I am not going to go out to my flagpole and fly my US flag upside down. I think it is ridiculous to think this will make even an iota of difference. Flying the flag upside down originated as a distress signal for a ship at sea. The idea had been bastardized by citizens as a means of protest since the 1960's. I prefer to have my say on election day. Electing our representatives is how the founding fathers thought we should have our say. They also thought having proper weaponry and ammunition was darn important too, as well as the skill to use them. This country is not going anywhere. Democrats want to build gov't to increase their political power. I do not believe Obama or any of the others want to see our lives in shambles. We all disagree over how to best achieve our countries goals. If King George II did not send us down the crapper in 8 years, I don't think the Big O can do it either. Recession and depression are part of economic cycles. The economy will bounce back, IMHO quicker if gov't stayed out of it. I dunno, I guess I could go an get an old Soviet flag and fly that, yeah that makes sense.

Venting is good. So is spell check and punctuation. Oof that was hard to read.
-
I dunno, I hope he fails. His policies are surely going to send us down the crapper. He succeeds, the country fails. He fails the country survives.

is it chipmunk fur? I agree with the ball ammo for the .380, penetration and shot placement is key. I am not even going to waste my time messing with JHP's for the FEG, It will do its duty with FMJ's. At least with the 7.65 when Daniel gets shot by it he will know about it unlike when he gets shot with my .25 auto.

Heck of a first post there Patty. As the OP is permitted to carry he certainly knows the law as to alcohol consumption and gun possession. It never occured to me that he was going to get lit up wearing a gun. I have two guns sitting on a bar right now, bar is very well stocked. I wonder if the guns will get drunk. <Gasp> one of them is chambered. What i find really amazing is I can drink on occassion and manage to not handle a gun at the same time.

you are right TJ, I am sure I used up a bunch of my luck karma by finding the spring. Glad to read that the Llama is working out for you. Have you tried any hollow points through it? It seemed to run the ones I had just fine. I might have a magazine load of them around still. I think I have about 70 rounds of ball ammo in .380 Daniel if Kat ever loosens the apron string up you need to come and shoot a few rounds.
-
the spring turned up on the floor right in front of the bar, I still can't get over finding it. I need to go buy a powerball ticket. TJ glad the .380 is working out for you. I did not think the slide was that stiff, teach her a shoulder shrug method of racking it. Some woman find it easier that way. Next time you come up bring it with you. I have some ammo we can feed it.
-
LOL TJ, that's normally how my luck runs. I just came back from putting rounds through the TMG (Transylvanian Mouse Gun) No misfeeds, no slide lock back, All rounds on target. I have more ammo coming on Monday, I will put 50 through it next week sometime. But I am sure that it is fixed. woot for me! Thanks for the help John, woot for you too!
-
yep, that was definitely the part, fits right in and appears to function correctly. Gonna take it out and run the last of the rounds I have through the pistol. I can't believe I found that tiny little piece on the floor.
-
Ah, as blind luck would have it I looked around on the floor in the basement where I work on the guns at. Sure enough there was a very small piece of spring. Looked like a piece of a staple. But I am thinking it is the part. way to stiff to be a staple. Gonna try to fit it in.
-
My lock back does not have that. That must be the problem. I dunno if it was there when I bought the gun or if I lost it the first time I stripped the piece.
-
So i picked up this little FEG AP 7.65 auto pistol at the last gun show. It has tons of holster wear but really does not appear to be fired very much. It had feed issues at first as well as the slide issue. I managed to resolve the feed issues by buffing the feed ramp out and tweeking the mag lips a little. Actually it shoots pretty well from about 15 feet on in. The DA pull is a monster but dry firing it a lot has eased it up some. The issue I can't seem to resolve is the premature slide lock back. I can remove the part easy enough, it lifts right out and the slide issue will be sort of fixed. Anybody have any ideas on what causes a slide to lock back while there are still rounds in the magazine?

I have this to do today, actually it is draining right now. Just waiting for the drips to stop. So who else changes the oil in the personal vehicle? I have the truck going now, and the fixings to do the filter and oil on the tractor. Going to try to get the quads done next weekend. Only two options on the poll, I figure if you do your own, on occassion you may go to a speedy lube place, but if you don't do your own, you don't sometimes do it yourself. Sometimes I go to a quickie place, but at least 9 out of 10 times I do it.
