  1. where is the farm? might be a better option. yes I am inviting myself
  2. TJ you SUCK!! that is officially the first gun someone has shown on this website that I am jealous of. It better make it to the next shoot, I can't wait to give it a try! Feel free to contact me about coming up and belssing my range with it this weekend.
  3. Went to get my taxes done this morning, that is an April fools joke all in itself. They were playing the song Taxman on Sirius as I drove there, the check I payed the CPA with was numbered 1099, and the amount I owe is equal to the date (tomorrow) when I will mail the payment to Uncle Sam. Too many coincidences. And the worst joke of all, Megyn Kelly is not on Fox News today, grrrrrr She is pretty much the reason I watch their 9 am news show. It's a rotten April Fools Day.
  4. NO pictures means there is no gun! Take Mark's advice on using grease. Oil does not cut it. Congrats on the new piece, I can't wait to shoot it.
  5. what they do in NASCAR is simply advertising. I am leaning towards it being a joke but with the Big O there is no way to tell. Sounds like something the socialists would come up with. I have Fox News on the TV and they have been talking about the auto makers but there is no mention of this. I would think if it was true they would be talking about it.
  6. Mark I think the poison blocks are the same stuff as the pellets. I had better luck with pellets but it was probably more about placement than the bait. I have an industrial bait trap on the side of the house. ( one of them black things you see near dumpsters or culverts near businesses) I check it monthly and replace as need be. Have you had any luck finding where they are getting in at? Cody lets see what we can work out. I plan onleaving directly from work in Knoxville. Can you get a ride to where my warehouse is at? I am hopeful to be on the road by about 1 pm. Don't you have school? i had a dream about the shoot last night, it must be on my mind some.
  7. Just out of curiosity I called to verify the price. Yep the price is correct. I have 80 rounds of brass cased .380 and no gun to shoot it from. I will take the first $50 bucks waved in my face for it.
  8. are the fury demons in the house Mark? I may need more info to be of assistance. Offhand I would recommend laying out glue traps where their pathway is. A good second line of defense is rat bait poison ( them little pellet things that come in a tray). They eat it and get really thirsty, they go to get something to drink. The bait turns to cement in their intestines and they die soon after. Normally they have to go outside to drink so the risk of them dying indoors is minimal. I put one of them pellet bait things in the eave of the house and I have not heard a foot step since. A guy at the Knoxville Home Show recommended this method(off the record he said) to Karin. It seems to work so far. Myself I preferred the glue trap because I either got to execute with gunfire or a wack with a shovel.
  9. Thats it in a nutshell. Even if the fam is not around I carry because protecting me also protects the family. If I am killed they will get some insurance money, but if I am maimed and unable to work they get nothing. From the mouth of babes department, my 6 year old grandson saw me a couple of weeks ago wearing a gun. Not the first time he has seen it. He said " Grandpa is the the gun you have to protect us?" I just looked at my wife and grinned. He is 6 and gets it!
  10. old Vince broke the first rule when errr.. visiting with a lady of the night. NO FREAKIN KISSING!! And JC I am waiting for an example of something you would not hit, LOL
  11. feels good, don't it. I still have a little debt but it is very managable and goes down monthly. For me the biggest relief is to not have to worry about what has to be paid by what certain date.
  12. tactical teacher said While I am not a fan of interacting with police in an offical sort of way I am thankful that there are police to do what they do. Your words remind me of Jack Nicholson's character in the movie that portrayed him as the commander at Gitmo.
  13. Boom says shooting to go up on Friday afternoon, as soon as I can bail from work. Won't know for sure until that day.
  14. The law allows for OC, so if you wanna do it, then go and do it. But don't complain when it causes some unwanted attention. I stop several days a week in a Weigles store near the county jail. There are Knox deputies in there all the time. They never speak to me because they do not know I am armed. I will bet dollars to a donut that if I OC'd in that store I would have had many unwanted interactions with the man. I figure the less interaction I have with the man the better off I am. Cops are not being my friend out there. They are looking for a reason to arrest me. I choose not to give them reason to look twice at me. And another thing. Driving by the county lock up twice daily is a good reminder to stay on the straight and narrow.
  15. I would go and have gone because it is fun and great place to spend time with the family, especially if you have kids. It can't always be about the gun. Sometimes to live life you have to make compromises. They have a right to post it.
  16. to add, you can always do as you wish. But I am pretty sure it is properly posted at the gate.
  17. oddly enough the striker fired pistol is one of the most recommended designs for newer shooters. Thats because of how safe it is and pretty much fool proof to make it go bang when you want it to. The striker fired pistol was one of JMB's first designs.
  18. I am guessing these two bills have a chance of passing somewhere between slim and none. if I had to pick one or the other to pass I vote for the parks.
  19. Gander has the 91/30 in an ad mailed to my house. I want to say they advertised it for 129.00 ???
  20. So what did he fix you up with?
  21. I dunno if addicted is the right word, I may want to upgrade to a better firearm in that caliber. But I like it fine, especially since I put work, effort and eyesight into making it reliable. I think it makes a fine bug. So when I shoot Daniel with it he can get mad right away. Rather than later when he finds he was shot like what would play out with the .25 And UPS just delivered 250 rounds to me for it.
  22. Forgot to add, glad to read you are going to make it Elliott, can't even remember the last time I saw you. It will be more funner for sure now.
  23. Mark I am not sure where I stand on ammo purchases, especially for the SKS. I am giving real hard thought to selling it when the near thousand rounds I have for it are depleted. I have been giving a lot of thought to reducing my caliber needs. BP stuff excepted I am thinking about keeping only .22's, .30 carbine, .32auto and .45 auto If I have any cash left when I get back from Arizona I may be interested in relieving you of some .30 carbine ammo though.
  24. If I go to that mall, well any mall for that matter it is an act of last gasp desperation.
