  1. Yeah, don't mind us. Mostly we are being smart asses to one another. Unfortunately the new guys(OP in this case) have to wade through our hijynx. For the most part I conceal casually. Meaning my gun is worn in a holster on the outside of my waistband. But it is concealed under a t-shirt or under my button down untucked shirt. I rarely tuck in a shirt, like most fat people. I truly wish society would not look at someone like me OC'ing as a blight or something to fear. I do not believe in the BS that if you OC you lose the element of suprise, or you become a target for a bad guy. I dunno maybe that can happen but someone needs to show me documentation of it. I believe most people are anti OC because they do not want to rock the boat or in other words draw attention to themselves. Each one of is has to find out what works best for our own situations. For me casually concealed works best. But there are situations where I conceal a little deeper than casually, and also times where deep concealment is involved. Today happened to be OC day here at the casa de Mike.357, and believe me, those in attendance were dang well impressed. Suntzu said truer words were never spoken, well the ugly part anyway.
  2. Yep, I need to know who is pitching and who is catching. I would prefer to OC, as long as I had my CCW badge on a chain hangin round my neck. I OC'd today as a matter of fact, I think it impressed those who saw it.
  3. get a inflatable alligator to put in the pool. I saw that used in Illinois and in Florida at goldf courses to keep birds away. Seriously it worked. Maybe a owl statue mounted on the fence might work
  4. Seriously, everytime I read someone's account of an ammo expedition I get hot flashes and cold sweats. Stop posting how you found ammo. Stop posting how you did not find ammo. Stop posting how much what you found or did not find cost. Stop posting about the man at Walmart unloading ammo and a line halfway to houswares waiting to buy it. I can't take it anymore. My name is Mike and I am an ammo-aholic
  5. that was some of the most disgusting crap I have ever seen, I thought my wife was gonna blow chunks when I yanked that mess out of the stock. I can't even imagine why someone would stuff scalp and skull into the stock of the rifle. i wish mine had some in it.
  6. " I am never coming back" famous last words! HAHAHAHAHAHA. I was waiting for someone to threaten to call Obama about it
  7. bring the scalp with you i also have the worlds longest roach clip/hemostats. It will reach in and get it out no problem
  8. I feel cheated I did not get anything in my Garand. Tower got someones firing range chart in his. really gotta wonder why someone would stick some bloody hair in their rifle though.
  9. I honestly do not understand why I cannot own these things. I know I can still get a fully auto weapon and a short barrel shotty if I jump though hoops and I should be able to get a grenade launcher if I want one. I am honest and law abiding. A criminal will get the above items if they want one and not worry about the laws involved.
  10. I have about given up on WalMart for ammo. If going by one I might stop in and check, but I am over making trips and phone calls to try to score something. Cheaper to order off the internet considering time and gas wasted driving around to these places.
  11. I can't wait to shoot it. Nice looking pistol there.
  12. blasphemy Hehe ,thanks Mac
  13. "Dont hate the hoarder, hate the game." Joey Gilbert from the Contender "He didnt hit you, he hoarded you, and hoarding, son, thats racing" Days of thunder Robert Duvall playing Harry Hogge used the rubbing line first, later on Cruise used it too. I give up on the two others, Can I have half a box?
  14. also heard the real Messiah will return in 2012..... the world ends on December 21 of 2012. you heard it here second. History channel first.
  15. I would prefer to use Mark@seas range. I have no trouble being responsible for the target stands, picnic table and seeing to it that trash it carted out at the end of the day. I do not expect Sue and Mark to put on a spread of food when we use the place. I would be happy to bring some charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill, people can supply their own food and drink if they want. At any rate I say we let this discussion carry on in the thread for a week or so and then decide where to do the May Shoot. So everyone please state you preference for either at Mark's in Kingsport or at the range in Clinton.
  16. Well you gotta be really cool like me or have the mullet to pull this look off.
  17. I want to get another one. One to wear on my belt and one to wear on a chain like Dog the bounty hunter.
  18. I would second this idea. Those rings are great. Especially if you want to take some shots using the iron sights. I have a cheapo BSA scope that came with rings and fits every .22 I own, Model 60 included. I am not sure you need high or medium specifically.
  19. I could always ask Mark in Kingsport if he would let us use his range again. I suggested around Knoxville only because we used to rotate back and forth. I understand some people may not want to make the drive, not that it is really all that far.
  20. I dunno what she was driving, some sedan, I don't doubt at all she might have been killed had she hit my truck. I was trying to keep from crapping my britches. If I had not been careful I would have been there one second sooner. I always go slow.
  21. I am thinking one will call out to you. heck even if it is old looking and the stock is beat to crap it might end up being your most cherished rifle.
  22. I almost got t-boned Tuesday night. If I had left work 1 second sooner I am not sure I would be here typing right now. Dumb ass young girl blew through a blazing red light at Amherst Rd and Middlebrook Pike at about 6 pm. Oh yeah she was yapping away on the cell phone. I have no doubt she never knew what she did. I tell you if I was in that intersection one second sooner it would have been game over.
  23. TJ, I think the OR place we shot at was effectively shut down for our use. Maybe Phantom will read this thread and chime in sometime. We have some time to sort this all out anyway.
  24. You all can laugh all you want. the situation is not going to get better anytime soon. Been putting a lot of thought to this stuff. The world is over populated, in the good old USA there are more gun owners than ever, these gun owners are more affluent than ever. They/we spend more money on guns, ammo and gun stuff than our parents ever did. Sooner of later the manufacterers cannot possible keep up with demand. People who used to be happy having 300 rounds of what they shoot now want 1000 rounds of what they shoot. It is never going to get better. The basic metals to make bullets and chemicals to make powders/primers are being bought up for other uses by the overpopulated masses of the world. I firmly believe ammuntion will be so expensive by summers end it will be unobtainable in amounts I like to have on hand. So I am buying every round I have money for at the current time. When ammo is unobtainable they will have effectively disarmed us. I am glad I have front stuffing weapons. I can make black powder, I can mold balls, I can find flint. The man is trying to keep his foot on our neck, thinking otherwise is just foolishness.
  25. the only one I am holding hope out for is being able to have a loaded long gun in the cab of the truck. I think they will screw us out of the others once again.
