  1. I dunno, I guess I am totally alone in this but I say who cares! It caused no harm, no one was in danger. I say this whole thing is a non incident.
  2. I can give you all the answers if you post up a full size copy of your avatar.
  3. I have never had a vehicle broken into in my 33 odd years of driving. The truck I drive now is the only one I have not had a rifle rack in. I honestly can say that when I bought the truck back in 98 I went to Walmart to get one and they did not have any. So I guess I forgot about it. I used them to carry fishing poles. Now both my fishing poles are in my tool box, and both of them have broken tips. I wish I had a rifle rack again.
  4. i read this thread title and thought something was up with the Department of Safety. Guess I am not a big enough computer dork to catch what DOS really meant, LOL
  5. if you have a CCW badge it makes it all good
  6. I think a boresnake works just fine. How clean does the bore need to be? More damage is done to the bore by overcleaning than by undercleaning. Personally I do not use more than 5 patches on any of my rifles. Wet, dry, wet, dry, dry, and a couple of passes with a bore mop then call it done. And I have not noticed any problems. Been wanting a boresnake for my .30 cal rifles. Them things are mutliplying while I am not paying attention.
  7. why do "they" get to make all the decision? I have seen a similar sales tables at gun shows that was in the aforementioned photo. While they are not badges as such they are ID holders with a pin type thing in it. I guess you could call them badges. I always wondered why they bother with doing gun shows, but I guess they sell enough to make it worthwhile for the guys time and the cost of the space at the gun show. I have never seen anyone make a purchase though, most people seem to shy away from it. And I take it they are threatening legal action? Funny if thats the case.
  8. stack it deep boys
  9. I believe it is legal to lend a handgun to someone from out of state. I am sure one of the legal eagles here can verify this. If not and he is out of state then a transfer is the only way to go. Not sure why i am thinking lending is okay, but it really sticks out in my mind. In state, make a gift of it, no paper trail needed.
  10. I had a relapse this morning. Went to the dump and to the bank. as I was ready to make a left turn out of the bank lot all of the sudden I made a right turn and went to Walmart. Not much there, no ammo delivery today. Ended up buying the last two boxes of CCI mini mags and two boxes of Blazer .40S&W. I do not own a gun that shoots .40 S&W
  11. this country was created as a nation of rifleman, it is time to sharpen our aim once again.
  12. The Big O does what he wants when he wants.
  13. I am glad it was not me, I definitely would have challanged him to call someone "on duty". No doubt I would have run mouth at him too. I would have also demanded to see the store manager. Freaking idiots like him are why people in general dislike cops. Kudos to you for remaining calm. Now go back to that Kroger and OC! To add after reading the entire thread. The guard did not say it was Krogers policy to be gun free, he told the OP it was illegal for him to be there on account of alcohol sales for off premise consumption. This Dick was flat out wrong in his actions. Glad it was not me, LOL I would have blown a gasket.
  14. that does not look like Bullwinkle
  15. Well Ken, even if the badguy survived the handshots you have the satisfaction of knowing he is wearing a bag from now on. Those intestinal shots would be very nasty. I agree with Mouse about the 3 inch groups at 25 yards. Must be someone who can do it but i sure can't. Fine shooting for 21 feet anyway.
  16. GI Joe went downhill once the enemy for Joe stopped being krauts and japs. Heck, GI Joe battling Cobra may have been the beginning of political correctness. Aside from them downsizing the guy he was not near as cool when he became some kind of world policeman.
  17. I am guessing a lot of us know about this link already, but in case anyone has not seen it here it is Collecting and Shooting the Military Surplus Rifle (2005) - Surplusrifle.com
  18. Those Garands looked like pretty good shooters TJ. I did not see your target from the Springfield, was it as good as the HRA target I saw? I can't keep up with you. LOL My spreads were two or three times the size of yours. I do look forward to shooting it again, I got better as the day wore on. I will leave the Mosin at home next time. I think I hate that rifle.
  19. Not sure how many your tube holds, mine holds 18. Is it feasible to leave a round or two in the tube when you go to reload? At least that way it might only get stuck once. Still not sure how it is getting stuck. Is it possible the follow is deformed or nicked up? Have you look into a new follower if this is the case?
  20. Anyone else have an opinion on this? Waiting for you regulars to sound off on it.
  21. Does it do it every time? I am trying to remember what mine looks like. I know I have never had this problem. Can you twist it in the tube? Turn it 180 degrees? Or does it not matter?
  22. Steven rifles are handled by Savage Arms. Maybe look at their website or contact them about parts. I bought a Stevens Model 62 a while back on the cheap from a pawn shop. It is a fairly good shooter.
  23. I am not sure what would push people over the edge, but making a back room deal with the UN that effectively flushes any part of the bill of rights away would qualify. I do not forsee a good outcome to 2A being sold out to pacify some euro trash country.
  24. actually there is a small clump of it still stuck on the hemostats. Creepy...
  25. cite some examples where this has happened.
