  1. I wish they would do it here. I would go so far as to wish they would take down a persons name and check it to keep people from coming back for additional boxes. Dang, if people would just buy what they need to shoot right now this problem would ease up.
  2. so are you saying the ammo under the cash register is not for sale? and watch it mister, I now have a fresh box of .25's to shoot you with, not that you would notice it anyway.
  3. Just got back from checking out their ammo situation. Scored a box of .25 auto and a CCI Mini mag. They had on hand .357 Sig, some hunting caliber ammunition and assorted CCI stuff in .22 But under the counter beneath the cash register was a pile of Remington .223 I found it odd that it was down there but not on the ammo shelf itself. anyway if you want .223 they have it.
  4. I have not encountered any Walmarts that are rationing ammo. I wish they would all do a 2 box limit on centerfire and bulk .22 lr. If nothing else it would allow more people to get something anyway. Its the only way I see this drought easing off for a long long time.
  5. move along sir, nothing to see here.
  6. can't spell Outback Bowl without U and T , or is is Citrus Bowl?
  7. You bunch of freakin morons. Here ya go. Ammo is near impossible to get because of everyone is buying every last box that is for sale anywhere. You go to ______________ ( insert bullet store here) and if they have ten boxes of 9mm you buy it. If they have a case of .380 you buy it. If they have ten boxes of Remington Golden Bullet you buy it. If you do not buy it all yourself, then the 93 other gunners who come through the bullet store right behind you buy it. Repeat this process daily. It is pretty darn simple to see why there are no bullets anywhere. Add to the above rinse and repeat cycle you have tens of thousands of new gun owners. They are all freaked out and trying to buy ammo. This is not rocket science, but rather supply and demand. The demand has out run the supply. Quit buying every bullet that is not nailed down and there will be some available, just like in the old days. You remember the old days. Go to Walmart and there was always a fair supply of 9mm, .40S&W, .45Auto, .22 LR in a bulk pack. People were happy to have a few boxes on hand. When was this? Just last summer? Now that the evil Obama has been elected everyone freaked out and went bullet grubbing crazy. No longer was three boxes of Value Pack ammo enough. Now everyone has to have ten boxes. It goes on and on and on. Never ending cycle. So there you have it. I bet you are all disappointed. There is no magic solution to this. Basically quit buying more than you are shooting this week and the supply will build back up again. Just remember, the next time you find ammo. Don't buy it all. Buy two boxes like you used to. Leave some for the next guy. ( And take my opening line in this post in the tongue in cheek way it was meant, you bunch of morons )
  8. You do that too? sometimes I switch it up and use my right index finger and thumb. I love it when you talk dirty.
  9. better to clean them from the muzzle end than to not clean them at all over paranoia of damaging the crown when cleaning. I always moslty thought the reason to not clean from the muzzle end is that you may push crud into the action of the rifle. I have cleaned from the muzzle end on rifles and never damaged anything. But a boresnake sounds like a real good thing to own.
  10. y'all really want to know why there is no ammunition around? You sure you are ready to know?
  11. nope no Rolex, pretty much dress like I am poor, which I am.
  12. she is used goods, isn't she a Tom Cruise cast off?
  13. 70below hooked me up with the picture of the girl. I told him about the ammo shortage and that is as far as it goes on this message board. You all are out of luck.
  14. I agree with it. Maybe I could get some .45's and .22's locally then.
  15. I buy calibers I do not have when I see it in case my friends want it. And I do not clean out the shelf. I always leave some.
  16. TJ we can work something out on the pistol ammo I have in trade for the greek '06. I am trying to figure out what 80 rounds of .380 is worth ( in reality, not rip some one off fantasy). I do not recall what I paid for it. The 9mm (100 rds)was about 21 bucks OTD and the .40 was about 13.75 each OTD. I set aside that .22 lr for you too. Oh yeah, I have some '06 brass, about 40 of them I can throw in on it as well as return the newly used brass back to you. I only shot 32 rounds yesterday but I know I picked up more brass than that. must have been a leftover or two from Sunday.
  17. the guy is just trying to keep a job. Nothing like being a Senator. There are only 100 of them so it is a big deal to have that job. All he is doing is trying to extend his political career. He was not going to win a republican primary, and it looks doubtful that he can beat the republican candidate in the general election. Give Obama some more time, he will give himself a fatal shot to the foot before the next go round. And don't be so sure all the Senators will back him in some kind of BS treaty with Mexico or the UN.
  18. I kind of find it odd that JWP is constantly being put on the spot and being forced to offer a defense to whatever it is a poster comments on. It just seems to go on and on and on... Geez, give the guy a break. and fwiw, I have only ever been in CCA one time about a month ago. I was treated very well by staff there in spite of my telling them I was only interested in a box or two of ammo. I was treated like I was fixing to drop a couple of grand not 39 dollars.

    SWINE FLU

well at least you won't be hoarding ammo while you are there.
  20. okay i give up. It was a big deal. And Arko you are not just a yankee, since you moved here you are officially a "damn yankee."
  21. its only an incident because conservatives and Fox News are grasping at anything to take shots at Obama and his administration. There are plenty of reasons to blast him and his administration. This fly over is not it.
  22. .22 bolt rifle and a few clips through the M1. I think I want to sell the Thumper. Seems the bolt rifle likes the cheapo ammo best. At 50 yards I was getting real good groups with lead nose Federal ammo. The match and target ammo I had was terrible through it. At 100 yards the supposed good ammo dropped 6 inches, the Federal only a couple, And the groups stayed good with the Federal.
  23. I decided I am going to buy what they sell, even if I don't have a gun for it. I have 9mm, .380 and now .40 on hand. No gun for any of it, LOL. Maybe I can run it through someone elses gun when we have a shoot, or I can always hold it, Not like it will spoil like old milk. (Off topic I went back to John Sevier this afternoon. Almost deserted. Was fairly pleasant to shoot there today. Thinking about an annual pass)
  24. Yep I have the actual lowdown on why ammo is so hard to get right now. Let me assure you it will make your jaw drop, all information is totally verified through independent sources. And I am not going to tell one darn bit of it until I see that picture.
