as of 11 am on May 6 they had several 100 round boxes of .38 special, a whole lot of 100 rd value boxes of 9mm. They also had some .25 auto and one box of Winchester bulk packed ammo. Someone left with the other two boxes they had (Sorry Mac, I would have called you but I forgot my phone.) Maybe the ammo situation is breaking a bit. Still no .45 acp though

This coming from someone living in Oak Ridge. (Just kidding, could not resist) to the OP, there is no where safer than anywhere else around here. I live in rural knox county (east and north of downtown )and there was a guy shot during a home invasion last night not 1 mile from my house. As for out west, not far from Peters Rd. there was a guy shot and killed last night outside a restaurant in a "nice" part of town. So there is no good answer to this puzzle.

I know what you mean. I know it kind of goes against most everything I think about needing to be armed, but I feel really safe from crime at a gunshow. The only crime there is rip off priced ammo and caveat emptor firearms.

From what I have seen at gun shows in Knoxville (at both locations) is they will confiscate your ammo, not let you put it in your pocket and go on. I have seen them do that. They have signs saying no loose ammunition or loaded magazines. I generally would either go with the idea of concealed is concealed, or leave the bullets in the car.

can you buy ammo to take out at Range USA? Or does it all have to be shot there?

I dunno if it will help but grip the pistol like you would if you were holding a bird, not so tightly that you squish it but not so loose that it flies away. I believe at the moment of truth, when you pull the trigger your grip pressure will increase enough to not let the gun get away from you, but will not be so stressful as to get the shaky grip syndrome. I dunno, that is how I try to do it.
