  1. I think what is really important is how safe is Graceland should this soil liquification happen, and do you all out that way take advantage of being so close to it. do you all go to Graceland?
  2. over 500 posts, can't imagine anything drifted. LOL
  3. 59 for to 41 against 512 votes cast
  4. TJ I shot some of the American Eagle Sunday. Used the grandsons little bolt rifle. was blowing out the black center on targets. Very impressed with accuracy and reliability of that stuff. did not try any of the Winchester HV yet
  5. posted by Septicsam can't have it both ways. Sounds like he needs a refresher course on teaching the class. Do the board a favor and tell us who it was. save somebody else from making the mistake of going there.
  6. I am not saying this is wrong, but I have big doubts. I lived in Boca Raton for seven years. Went to restaurants and bars weekly. Never paid drink costs that a $100 bottle of liquor would bring. Normal prices IIRC is bottle beer about 1.50 or 2.00, mixed drinks 2.50 to 5.00 depending on where a person was imbibing. And AFAIK in TN, there is no special tax on wine or spirits for restaurants. They pay the same price (basically) as retail stores do for product from wholesalers. There may be some variance based on discounts offered. Some wine is specially packaged for restaurants and therefore they get a better price, but there is no add on for liquor to places for on premise consumption. I wonder if this all passes and becomes legal, and there is no blood in the bars will all the naysayers come back and write news articles and editiorials stating how wrong they were in their assumptions? Of couse I am fairly sure I know the answer to this question.
  7. so why am I reading a bunch of guys go off on this, how about going off on not being able to carry in court houses, post offices and other federal buildings? Ken Williams has been a friend to us, don't skew it over guns in the capital building. Maybe you would all prefer Naifeh back in charge. And FWIW there is no right to bear arms in TN. You have to pay for that priviledge, last I checked rights don't cost anything monetary.
  8. the governor has no say over what happens in a national park anyway. This would be federal business.
  9. SUNTZU instead of it saying give me back my bullets it should read "give me back my testicles" and I believe it was you who suggested this place to get better use out of your pass. hmmmm......
  10. thats great, tried to watch it last night but could not get in. I saw where you found that link so I am guessing half the free world that owns Garands was watching. Just watched it now. Too bad they took that show off the air. I wish my Garand was a purty as the gunnies.
  11. I think he has shown he is a huge supporter of gun owners. Just because he feels no guns are needed in the capital does not make him an enenmy to us. He flatly pointed out that there is plenty of armed security there already. Plain and simple, he has repeatedly allowed gun legislation to come to a vote in this session. I feel he has been showing his true colors.
  12. In further new, it was announced today that the sky is falling.
  13. TJ I think I would try to find an M1A that is in good shooting condition. The prices have risen on them, just like everything else lately, but they are still very desirable weapons. They are not out of reach yet but I believe they soon will be. And unlike the run of the mill AR 15 they have soul. Not so sure about SAA revolvers. I am not sure how affordable they are if vintage and shootable.
  14. why buy the cow if the milk is for free?
  15. that thing shot nice, but it would still shoot nice cut down. I say shorten it.
  16. I am probably the only one on this forum that when it gets down to it could give about the restaurant thing. I really want them to fix the loaded long gun law.
  17. maybe someone with an FFL can clarify, but oddly enough the one time I was denied/delayed the gun shop insisted on payment up front. I was told that was the proper and legal way to make the transaction.
  18. someone who is familiar with that place and who is coming ought to pick the time. Are there facilities? Yanno a restroom? What about water or other beverages? Any fountains or soda machines?
  19. yep, this coming Saturday
  20. i'll pass on it. I am guessing the trailer is the best parts. Did see some cleavage in there though GI Joe started sucking when he was downsized.
  21. I believe that to be a factual statement. I am not a big fan of Cheney or Limbaugh. Cheney is from the administration that basically left people soured on republicans. Limbaugh is an egotistical blowhard.
  22. there are jobs all over the place, not just in Memphis. I did not mean to offend. if you all can't do better than stay there by all means stay. It is just that I always read on here how people who live out that way think it a hell hole ,filled with crime and undesirable neighbors. I just don't get why people stay there. Is a job the only desirable thing about being there?
  23. I dunno about pocket carry. I am fairly big and fat and I don't hink I can pull that off.
  24. all things being equal I can't figure out why people live in memphis.
  25. better to hold you up for a few days than let someone who is a felon or otherwise not eligible from getting guns through FFL's. At least that is the politicially correct view. I have been denied, even knew why, Was approved on appeal and have not had trouble since everything was straightened out. Welcome to this place.
