The day after legal restaurant carry
Mike.357 replied to Mousegun's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I believe Chase might post his restaurants. But it will be with a No Guns sign or some such thing, I doubt it will be a legal posting. But who knows. -
we saw about half a dozen Saturday, various makes and models. Most were re-arsenaled 91/30's. Saw a couple of carbines, one that was sporterized and the aforementioned Chink model

LOL Nah, thought I have no doubt he might have pee'd himself if he had seen it. It was lost IMHO at the Knoxville airport when they went through my stuff after I checked the bag and walked away.

The day after legal restaurant carry
Mike.357 replied to Mousegun's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Restaurant owners don't want guns on patrons minds. I don't see much posting of these places. And if they do? Well it is their right to do so and I am fine with that. -
it is amazing what some elbow grease, gasoline, elbow grease, Hoppes9, steel wool, 133 patches and a bunch of elbow grease can do to an old rifle. i thought that Chicom Mosin showed some promise if someone cared enough to show it some love and tenderness. Not much you can do with the wood though when it is bad. One just has to decide if it is too bad for them to love. FWIW my knife is a piece of finely crafted Suisse Steel and an absolute bargain (not cheap) at the price I paid. It would have cost double from Smokey Mountain Knife Works. It replaces its twin that I carried for many moons and was mysteriously lost out of my luggage when I went to Arizona about two months ago.

here is something and cowboy20th don't take this the wrong way. A waiter is there to provide service to me. The waiter should promptly give me a menu, ask if I want something to drink. Fetch the drink while I look at the menu. Take my order, check my drink. Bring my food, check my beverage, ask if I need anything else. Come back in about 3 minutes to see if there was something I needed and forgot about. Check my drink. Stop back with my topped off diet pepsi. Notice my dinner is about consumed, ask if I want anything else. Give me my check. Waiters are not there to join in my conversation, not there to listen to my tables conversation. They are there to see to it my needs are taken care of while I dine. Flatly I could give a rat fart what the waiter thinks. I am the customer, we are not equals in this scenario. In return I will says please and thank you, be pleasant in my demeanor and if your service warranted it I will tip you generously. Anyway thats what i think.

Reminds me of the scene in the beginning of Tombstone where Doc Holiday pulls his pistols out, lays them on the table, pats them and says something to the effect of "there we can be friends now"

I found lots of reasonable .380 ammo at Knoxville Gun Expo
Mike.357 replied to a topic in Events and Gatherings
Thats funny right there. God Bless Georgia Arms and their 500 count ammo cans of .45 auto -
+1 for Ga. Arms

they have been supplying you with your new found crack. Also known as Hi-Point firearms.

spuds says Whatever, you are totally worked up by something that had not one thing to do with you until you interjected youself into it.

heck, that Winchester in the 50 rd silver boxes made all the other ammo being sold look like great deals. That guy must be particularly wacked, near 8 bucks/50 rds. for everyday .22lr Wish I had the dough to go back again today

the only gun ettiquete I am worried about is to keep my barrel out of the gravy and the ketchup off the grips Seriously though, nothing should change with the new law, aside from people legally carrying. No one ought to know you are sporting a sidearm but that is another topic for another thread.

Were you at the show? How did I miss that you did not buy a gun? I must have thought the cop parted with his butt shooter. I hope your cousin liked the blade, it was a nice looking piece. You infidel you

Okay, I am not here to piss people off or start a fight. I apologize for you misinterpreting what I wrote. I apologize that I did not write with enough clarity. To be clear, there were people selling high price ripoff Walmart ammo. That's one sentence. There was a guy selling high priced extra-rip off carbine ammo, thats another sentence. I never said the carbine ammo was from Walmart. There was one gentleman selling carbine ammo at a fair mark up, he is who I bought from. I did not buy every box he had, I bought three boxes. I almost wonder if another seller at the show bought his 21 dollar a box ammo then took it to their table to try to sell for 31 dollars or more. The reason I assume you may be a Walmart gouger is that you are at these shows. You know prices. Most all the Walmart ammo gougers had other items on their table. Items like surplus rifles and the ilk. You became defensive about my comment on carbine ammo. You told me I owed a seller more money. Is it more of a stretch for me to think you are selling Walmart ammo as it was a stretch for you to assume I was referring to carbine ammo from Walmart? Besides the fact that there was not one single box of Remington .30 carbine ammo at the show. Why was your post an overt attempt to start trouble with me? My original post made no attempt to call you out. I do not know you from any other seller at that show.

I agree with you BD, no more shooting OS's spinners with that stuff. but i do have a big old box of .45's to throw at it. I really liked the resetting spinners.
-
I like the spinners too, if I had not already over bought I would have got one. I am hopeful the guys that bought them will bring them when we shoot, LOL Maybe I will get lucky and they will forget one here at my place. The heavy plate single spinner was defnitely worth 20 bucks.

Someone had to pick up your slack,

seeing as the carbine ammo in question is Aguila and not sold at Walmart I don't think you know what you are talking about. Reads to me that you may be one of the Walmart gougers, dunno I did not see one box of Remington Carbine ammo and I believe that is what Wallys sells. I don't mind a guy making a buck or two, but the walmart ammo I saw for sale was ripoff city.

OK to take 7.62x39 to the gun show for trade?
Mike.357 replied to a topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I think you are okay with the ammo. I believe by loose ammo they mean the rounds that just came out of your carry guns chambers or magazine. But I believe your best option would be to sit out front with a for sale sign and a fair price posted for the stuff. I saw boxes of Wolf, 20 rounds per box for 9 and 10 dollars each. I cannot recall what 1000 in a box were going for. -
Yep, quite the pocket emptying affair today. In spite of leaving with a real thin wallet at the end of 6 hours examing every nook and cranny in the place I thought it was one of the better gun shows I have been to. I did make a smart comment or two to people who were trying their best to rip anyone and everyone off with their overpriced Walmart ammo. Saw one guy trying to get 38 bucks for boxes of .30 carbine ammo. Before we left I saw him again and he still had almost all of it. I found another vendor, an old guy who is at all the shows, he had the same stuff for 21 a box, picked up a few of them. First purchase was a 500 round box of Ga Arms .45 ACP. Priced at about 34 cents a round, and you get to keep the ammo can. So I feel it was a real fair deal. Picked up one long stick. I will talk about it later after I shake it out and see what it can do. It is gonna take a lot of elbow grease, steel wool and solvent to find out. Lots of fun, all in all it was a very pleasurable show to go to. but to be honest the company I kept today during the show is what made it a lot of fun. Oh yeah no stitches required but I got a heck of a cut on a finger tip, dang knife would have took my arm off if I had given it a chance to. The Swiss really know how to make a knife blade. In spite of the damage I was really happy to find it and bring it home, I needed a new working blade for daily use.

It is a HCP here, handgun carry permit. Check out Tennessee Department of Safety to find information about obtaining a non-resident HCP. Tennessee Department of Safety I doubt you need to do this as Pennsylvania and TN have a reciprocity agreement in place. Welcome to TGO
