  1. I have read that the .30 carbine round is ballistically similar to a .357 magnum round. I saw a show on History Channel that compared the 30 carbine to the .30-06. While the 30.06 did damge the .30 carbine was worse. Using clay, the 30-06 left a big channel, but the .30 carbine exploded the block of clay. Something to do with the blunt shape of the carbine bullet compared to the pointy shape of the 06 round. Dunno? I am fairly certain a round from the Garand will turn the spinner into Swiss Cheese. Where the Carbine round just craters it. No more rage. left it all in the woods
  2. beer= good more beer= better
  3. I know that cold hides bad flavor, LOL not that I am above drinking a Natty
  4. It already is looking like the moon, I can put a hole in it yanno. Been there done that.
  5. I was very, I mean VERY concerned with bending that piece. Did it a hair at a time. All is well that ends well. would have sucked the big one to have broken it. I was really suprised at how soft the metal that makes up the trigger group is.
  6. have some burgers ready to go on the grill, they are nice looking. Hope I can sear them good right off the bat. I am a real believer in searing meat. Hot and fast.
  7. I dunno what the deal is with Coor's Light, but it is on the menu again.
  8. need a pic of that Rohrback. I tweeked on the Inland this morning,. Stripped it down and tightened up the fit on the trigger group. there was some slight wiggle in the group so I put the front end of the group ( where the hole for the pin is) in the vice and torqued on it a touch. Had to take the mallet and pound it back into the frame. Got it back together and it was tight like a 15 year old virgin. ( no questions here please). Took it out about an hour ago. Ran 60 rounds of Prvi Partizan through it. I am no marksman by any means but it shot real well. I could definitely feel two stages in the trigger. Could not feel that so well before tweeking things. Anyway sent 60 rounds of carbine ammo down range and followed that up with a box of 50 Prvi in 7.65 out of the FEG. it was a hoot! Also SUNTZU's spinner target is starting to look like the moon. It is getting cratered up a bit.
  9. I am guessing she needs a septic professional. J&J Septic can be reached @ 865 992 1516 Sounds like she has some issues to be solved. I dunno dookey about dookey but I will vouch for J & J
  10. ordered some S&B .30 Carbine from Cabelas
  11. hard to beat Prvi Partizan ammo. Thats the ticket, gonna go run some through the M1 and the FEG AP. Yeah, its a plan.
  12. thanks for the heads up. Not near that desperate yet. Vigilance in searching will yield ammo at 30 bucks a 100. ( or near abouts)
  13. I am having a sammich. - ham, american cheese, hard boiled egg, lettuce, banana peppers, mayo on toasted white bread. Two pickle wedges,(Claussens from out of the deli case) and a nice side of cole slaw. Gonna wash it down with my daily ration of diet pepsi! Then it might be time to send some lead downrange
  14. I know a guy who keeps a derringer in the refridgerater, his reasoning is what if you need a gun and a sandwich at the same time. True story
  15. Walmart in Halls has/had ( 9:15 am today) fair amount of Remington 9mm and Federal .22 bulk packs. thats all I paid any attention too. Did not buy any either. Was hoping to find a box of .45 auto maybe, but no luck.
  16. when forced to listen to commercial radio in Knoxville I pretty much just keep the channel on 100.3. I like Neal Bortz, he is on 10 am to noon. He calls out whoever is screwing up, does not matter what political party they are from. I like his fair tax ideas a lot as well. I can tolerate the local morning guy Hallerin Hill before Bortz, sometimes his topics are interesting. Sometimes he is a little too corny for me. I will listen to Limbaugh after Bortz but usually end up turning the radio off. Limbaugh's ego is too big for me to handle. The guy really is full of himself. Pretty much a pompous ass in my book. He hates everyone not like him. All in all commercial radio in Knoxville blows.
  17. serial number shmerial number you just file that off
  18. Keep me in the loop if you get out this weekend. The Mosin is a little much for here, and I had been really jonesing to shoot the Inland.
  19. Not sure really where to put it so here it is. How many rounds did you put downrange today? Might be nice to include calibers and weapons shot. I will go first. 80 rounds of .30 Carbine out of my Inland 1943 50 rounds of 7.65 banged downrange out of the FEG AP 50 rounds of .38 special wadcutters from the SP101 last and least a handful of .22 long rifle from the Savage cub mini youth single shot. All in all a productive afternoon.
  20. good news and bad news and good news and bad news and good news all wrapped into one. I hope the grandbabies are good through all of this.
