  1.   Grocer's will be subject to the same laws that govern purchasing wine for retail sale as the package stores.   Of the seven wine distributor's in East TN there are none currently with enough trucks to service their current accounts and the soon to be added grocer's.   Depending on the distributor's portfolio they made need 10 or 12 more trucks to service new routes.   That is an incredible start up expense.  A couple of them have built new warehouse facilities in the last couple of years.   Some of the others will end up selling off brands or selling off their license to larger distributors in the state.   It will result in higher prices to pay for that.    There will be a one time bump in sales and revenue.  Overall wine sales will remain fairly static.   It is a big pill to swallow.   This is how the law is currently written.   But as we all know once Wine in Grocery Stores is in place by referendum,  the rules can all be changed by the legislature, leaving the voter out of the picture.   There are already efforts underway to change a lot of what is in the current deal.   Sooner or later I suspect the local distributor's will get cut out of some deals.
  2.   they will sell a lot of the same wines that are the backbone of package stores.   Who buys Thunderbird and Ripple?  Is it still in the market?
  3. at the end of the day there is profit.   That money leaves the state.  That is all I am saying.   I have heard that 20% is the expected loss in sales to package stores.   20% of our business is a lot.  For small stores it might be the back breaker.  Certainly we will have less employee's down the road.   I don't see it not being voted for in metropolitan areas.  Outlying counties may be questionable,   I imagine costs will go up,  The start up to service grocer's will be enormous to distributor's.  They need more square footage of warehouse and more trucks,  Someone will be paying for that.
  4.   you misread me or I was not clear.   Money spent in big grocery stores leaves TN.    Money spent at your local wine store stays where you spent it.   Which is better?
  5. i remember Nixon having Shingles.   That's all I know about the stuff.
  6. i did not see Smith's speal about Ebola.  I did see the hosts of The View talking about it and how wonderful they thought he was.   Right off I figured he F'd up.
  7. maybe sort of OT but please vote NO on wine in grocery stores.   Keep your dollars in TN.   Money spent at your local wine shop stays in the community.  Money spent at Wallys and Kroger as well as others goes out of state.
  8. am I the only one who wants the baby to become a zombie?
  9. also be wary of the letter N stoppers.  There are two different ones.  Note the jockey position on the horse.
  10. no Buffalo Trace Antique yet.  I am sure we would have it if it was available   We get the ER 17 on occasion.    I sold the last bottle of Elijah 23 the other day.  I hope we get more.  We do have the Wild Turkey Diamond in stock.   and for you Whisky Mary's Jack Daniels Honey came out with a free flask co pack,  there is no upcharge for it.  Unusual for JD.
  11. Pappy should be out in a few weeks or so.   Have not seen ETL in a while now.     Another one that has taken off as of late is Evan Williams Single Barrel.   Now it is hard to get.   The demand for bourbon has increased worldwide,  lots of it goes to Japan where it commands a premium price and they pay it.
  12. I got a bag of .22's free from Bill's Outpost when I bought a .22 rifle there.  The baggy had a tax stamp on it.
  13.   that is what we are here for  ;)
  14.   not picking but why is seeing a lawyer a fast option?   Sounds to me Dude works at an auto parts store or something.  Not a life long career and the departure is satisfying to everyone involved.   Just saying...   In TN you can be canned for much of any or no cause at all.  You can collect unemployment.  Life goes on.   I got canned a couple of years ago.  Came out of left field.  I sort of laughed when it happened.   I was lucky to have another place to apply to. Missed one day of pay in the big picture.   In the big picture things could not be better.   One door closes, another door opens.  Or some such....
  15. newb     ;)
  16.   this should be the standard answer when people ask how it is living in TN.   I always laugh when there is the thread about someone from Maryland or Pennsylvania or whereever thinking of moving to TN.  They ask how Murfreesboro is, or we are looking at Brentwood,  or thinking of buying property on Norris Lake or west Knox.   Then the answers come in about how great the place is and how much the new guy and his family would love it.   Why encourage people to come here?   LOL   My standard answer is that this place is awful and I am trying my best to figure a way to move out.
  17. AIM has project M44's for 99 bucks according to an email I got today.
  18. far out
  19. I am absolutely amazed that the blending door motor was somewhere accessible.
  20. last time I ordered (month ago) I got email on the order being placed and again when it shipped.
  21. like everything else there are times and places where cursing is fine.   I really try hard not to throw out F Bombs and its variants ever. I fail sometimes.       I stick by this mostly,   4:46 into the video they are listed.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyBH5oNQOS0
  22. I have not read any of this thread yet.  Gonna save it for when I have time.   This stuff is scary.   I don't want our survivor's to read about the Ebola Outbreak of 2015 in their history books like I read about the black plague in some history class of mine.
  23. I can't wait for one to be delivered to me!   LOL
  24. this has disaster written all over it.
  25. I low to answer their calls and waste their time.
