  1. you would kiss Mr. T if he let you sit on his lap too
  2. that ain't your tattoo. You have a Rubic's cube there. And Unicorns don't get my panties in a wad. You can't wad g-strings. And I am staying on topic until this thread is shut down
  3. forgot to add, Ammo-to-go has 440 packs of Bulgarian steel core ammo for $92.95 before shipping. Can't even imagine who would have just ordered it
  4. the forward hand grip serves a purpose, but the wood past that does not do much that I can see. At some point the front of the stock will have to go, it has a crack. Can't just tell yet if the crack is growing or not. But then what can I expect for 78 bucks
  5. great pics BoRFan! Real nice post too. It is hard to believe that rocket actually penetrated the steel plate but then it was a great shot. You should post up the video of you shooting the Mosin Nagant. It was a real pleasure meeting you. I totally enjoyed shooting your rifle, that sight is something else. I hope you can make it back to hang with us again someday.
  6. dude, you are 24. You really have no knowledge about hangovers. drink a case of beer and do shots in 25 years, then lets talk hangover. Something to file away for future use, ice cream and a bottle of water and tylenol before bed after big time drinking will greatly reduce the pain.
  7. how does one buy enough of it to give it a good test, say 100 rounds? too expensive to even give it a proper try I think, I go with what BK says ,I can get effective ammo for a whole lot less. Anyway if you carry a .45, mearly deploying the weapon will cause the bad guy to fall down in submission.
  8. I will venture a guess that if 100 rds of rifle ammo is not sufficient to acquire a weapon and more ammo from those that would be holding the populace in check that 1000 rounds or more would not be enough either. So if all us tin foil hatters keep a few boxes of ammo bought last week set back we will be good to. Or dead anyway.
  9. obviously it would stop the stockpiling of ammunition, at least in amounts that would not be shot before expiration
  10. heck I can see where Beale Street could be a lot of fun. Key words here are "could be". If I was thirty years younger I would be down with it. I ain't so old as to not remember loud music and drunken fun.
  11. ChuckTaylor, where did you get the boyhood picture of SUNTZU?
  12. so I have been wondering about the furniture on the 91/30. What is the purpose of the stock that extends past the foreward hand grip? The only thing there is the slot for the dog collar part of the sling. No doubt that slot could be fitted further back towards the forward grip. A Garand has wood up front that is not touched but it offers protection to the operating rod. No such need on a bolt rifle. Just been wondering...
  13. I would say anything is possible. Better living through science and chemistry yanno? I beleive chemicals can be made to use in primers that would degrade over time. I firmly believe that doing something like this is no real benefit to ammo manufacturers. It would cost them money to research how to do it. I would guess they would scream and yell if somehow they were forced to do it. Now if, and I mean IF, the politicos never ever planned to ban guns through stopping the manufacture of ammo that expiring ammunition is no big deal. That is as long as there is always an ample supply to go and shoot today. Obviously the ammo shortages are due to the fact that there are many many new gun owners and everyone already into guns has been hoarding ammo to one extent or another.
  14. I dunno about ammo shortages. I just looked in the ammunition bunker and I still have plenty
  15. Personally I would not put a lot of faith into what a clerk from Walmart has to say.

  17. yanno Suntzu, the Wolverine in your avatar probably reached the high point of his acting career in that pose
  18. the dang puppy just jumped on my nads again, then tried to french me when I howled in pain. i wish Bronkers dog would come and kidnap this one
  19. I did not shoot at paper much today, the Garufa Steel Plate Challenge kept all my attention. I did feel the 91/30 was shooting maybe a little low at the 150 Arshin mark, and it seemed to be pretty good with the windage. I liked the Ruskie ammo as did the rifle. I think I bounced a couple of rounds into the plate.
  20. When I shoot the 91/30 I pretend I am shooting at Nazi's. When I shoot the Garand I pretend I am shooting at Nazi's Them dang Nazi's are getting it from both barrels. Anyway, rifles are clean and pistols are staring at me.
  21. don't say the C word. And I don't mean CONTACT
  22. if anyone else in this thread actually had a thought it definitely would be a random one
  23. Oh man, totally slipped my mind. OhShoot and I had a real highlight of the day on our drive home. We were on 441 about two miles north of the Knox County line and a ...... wait for it..... Black bear ran across the road right in front of us. we both were like,. WHAT was that???? OS suggested is was the worlds largest poodle. LOL But nope, it was an honest to goodness black bear. Icing on the cake as far as today went. ( crack me up Mac, we both posted right at the same time about our bear sighting)
  24. 125 yards or 150 arshins? We were a bunch of dead eyes if that is actual distance.
  25. Man we had some good old American Fourth of July fun today. There were about 6 of us I think. Guns making appearances were Mosin Nagant 91/30's, M44, Garand, M1 Carbine, AR's, and AK, a couple of .22's, a .308 pump gun and way to many handguns to list. Targets were soda cans, golf balls, soda bottles, spray paint cans, steel plate, spinners, and as always paper. All the targets were totally destroyed. OS's spinner and Suntzu's spinners took an absolute beating. I really do not think there was anything left without holes in it. Was nice meeting BoRfan and hkusp40cal. I think hkusp40 will become a regular at out get togethers. I turned BoR onto milsurps. He did awesome shooting my Mosin, Garand and M1 carbine. I hope he can make it back sometime and join us again. I have to admit the Mosin Nagant 91/30 made a fine bottle rocket launcher aside from throwing massive amounts of lead and fire downrange. you guys who found excuses to miss the shoot, well you missed out. It was a hoot and a half. Totally a great day and a great time had by all of us. Can't wait to do it again!
