I am following you Daniel, but isn't the whole concept of a scout rifle such as this thread is suggesting kind of dated? Far be it for me to say it is not a worthy project. I love milsurps and all that. i am just trying to get a grasp on all of this. I think it looks cool and would be a great addition to a collection. but as far as really being funtional I am not so sure.

why would you want to go there when she made it clear you are not welcome? Yes improper posting mean nothing, unless you do not leave when asked. so is this scout rifle thing more for fun or kicks than functionality? I am not so sure that a EBR is not a better scout rifle than any old bolt rifle could be. So is it for kicks or are you all serious about this?

probably the less you can remember about a sale the better. Besides. Say you sell a gun , you get a look at the TN drivers license, the guy you sell to is really on the up and and up. A few years down the road something happens, the gun is used in a crime. What is to say the person you sold it to was involved in any manner. The thing may have been sold five times over. Heck it might be sold five times over that same day you sold it to begin with. Like I said, the less you know or can recall might be best.

Brought this over from the new sentinel thread. I like the Bulgarian ammo fine. I shot about 60 roundsof it on the 4rth. It all seemed fairly consistant as far as felt recoil and sound of the round going bang. I have some other ammo, Hungarian maybe, and it seems out of a loaded magazine one round will feel different and sound different. Of course none of this stuff is as bad as the cracked casing ammo I had. The ammo Garufa has been shooting, Chech stuff really smells aromatic, like they dosed it up with perfume or something. And with his superior marksmanship skills all ammo is accurate. Handgun ammo is holding out. I do not seem to shoot those things when we are at a place like Norris. I think this past weekend I only ran two mags through the XD45 and one box of 50 through the FEG. Somehow I have a box of .40S&W but no weapon to shoot them from. I must have been in a ammo daze, eyes glassed over on a trip to walmart or sumptin. Anyway, I might go for 200 rounds of x54r this weekend and balance it out with some .22lr out of the bolt rifle. Maybe this will be a bolt rifle only shoot for me!

So as to not pollute another thread. I am thinking I will need to smell power, feel recoil, and sling lead downrange on Saturday. Anyone else interested? i really think that not believing we have defacto gun registration as being naive. I fill out a 4473 and that paper does not just up and dissapear. Even in the movie Wolverines the commies knew to go to the sporting goods store and get those forms. if the man wants to know what guns were bought from retailers by which people they can get a fair start by laying eyes on those forms. And that is why I am a big fan of using the gun show loophole before it is closed.

x54r ammo is fairly cheap and plentiful, never really sat down and added up what I shoot and what it costs. Walmart might be short on ammo but I am not.
