    New 16lb 9mm!

    waizzit?
  3. After growing up listening to Joe Nuxhall and Marty Benneman, any other baseball announcers really do take a back seat and seem second tier. Do people still sit on their porches and listen to baseball games anymore?
  4. doesn't the Czech ammo have some sort of wire built into the can?
  5. on the other hand Barry White makes me feel all warm and fuzzy
  6. I figure someone who works there is snatching it up or telling their buddies. Once the buddies show up they pull it out. Ammo is bad around here at all Walmarts I look at, but not like it is at Walker Springs.
  7. I think there is some kind of inside dealing going on with Walker Springs and ammo. I cannot even remember the last time I have seen anything there.
  8. I have seen that type of pitching switch done before. I actually watched the first game of that double header yesterday, well it was on the TV and I was in and out of the basement as I cleaned the garage. I realized that the only names I recognized during the broadcast were a guy named Pujols for the Cardinals, Lou Pinella and Keith Moreland the Cubs color announcer. Shows how much baseball I have payed attention to since the last player strike. and FWIW Joe Morgan was one of the best second baseman to ever play the game. Of course playing on the best baseball team to ever take the field does not hurt his reputation.
  9. near as I can figure grits are like boiled sand. YUCK. How did it ever become a food?
  10. I feel like I am being stalked or something.
  11. pretty much if you order on Monday you receive on Thursday or Friday.
  12. I can testify that the Czech ammo is very aromatic. It really does smell nice.
  13. Yeah you could by buy high dollar non surplus ammo, or you could simply put some soap and water on a few patches, (or some ammoniated windex) and put them through the bore as a first step to cleaning. And it is not a race to get home and clean these things. The surplus ammo is not going to eat a hole in the barrel or bolt face in an hour or two. Clean it within a day or three and you will be fine. If you are going to be a week or more before cleaning simply pour some water down the barrel. Same with the bolt face. It is a Russian battle rifle for God's sake, not a prom dress.
  14. she was on the pointy end of things
  15. what are gang tattoos and how can you tell that someone is most likely in a gang? I don't know much about gangs. Could they not be some sort of benevolent society or a brotherhood, like Knights of Columbus and the Lions Club?
  16. 80 rounds of ammunition is totally insufficient. At minimum you need one can of 440 rounds that you will never dare open. You will go to the grave with it still in the closet. So actually you need to start off with a full case of 880 rounds. One to open, the other to stash. Then when you shoot 50 or 100 rounds you will need another can of 440 rounds. Trust me, that is how this Mosin Nagant stuff works. Within a few weeks if you do things correctly you will have well over 1000 rounds of the stuff. Also try to buy some from different countries. That's is a prime excuse to get another spam can of the stuff. Excuses to buy more ammo, thats what its all about, (don't believe that it is about the hokey pokey)
  17. I am going to run about three patches through mine. one with windex, one with CLP and one that is dry. The freaking gun was made in 1939, has a cracked stock and a broken cleaning rod, not sure it deserves any better. But I love it, there are many like it but this one is mine. My trigger finger is way more sore than my shoulder. Long live the Nancy pad
  18. big time had up at the Norris shooting range today. It was another milsurp fest. For me the highlite was shooting Garufas 1917 bolt rifle. I am not sure but I think it was once carried in battle during WW1 by Alvin York. Without a doubt it had the smoothest action of any bolt rifle I have fired. I also dusted off my SKS and fired quite a bit of ammo. Certainly the most I have shot out of it in a long time. And not to leave it out, but I lost count of rounds through the 91/30. I did shoot it enough that the cleaning rod broke. It seperated from the threaded part of the rod. I have about three threads left on it. Never heard of such a thing. but I don't really care, just adds to the Mosin lore that is the 91/30 i took a few pictures of the guys in various action poses. Newest rifle of the day award goes to OS with his Marlin 1894c chambered in 38/357. What a shooter that is. Hitting the plate at 125 arshins was no problem at all. I will give you all one guess where he got it at. Oh yeah, that plate. No pic but it looks like a piece of swiss cheese. Actually it makes the plate from last week look like a solid piece of steel. Garufa was banging rounds off of it with his little transylvanian auto loader. Definitely good shooting. Sorry you others could not make it. Maybe next time.
  19. whats FIY? Of course it is steel cased ammo, you figure that out by yourself?
  20. i think my golf cart is safer to drive, and roomier too
  21. it gets addicting to watch. Lots of real drama. I love it when the nut bag fans go running after the riders, cracks me up.
  22. AIM is alright to deal with too. The important thing to remember is to go shoot! I just noticed Cheaper Than Dirt has black box Wolf for 4.97 per 20 round box.
  23. Now that is a post showing a lot of class. And it does me no good to buy a thousand rounds when I only have cash for 500.
