  1. I have been on the Yorktown, I bet spending the night was really fun. Any ghosts? I can only guess as to how much clanking and banging a ship of that size makes when it gets quiet. Mark post up some pics of them Remmy's! Everyone needs to own a BP revolver or two. The Big O is not going to ban them
  2. we can only wish at this point, but you never know what the future may bring.
  3. if you wold quit playing on the puter you would be done by now
  4. best I could get was 319.8. But then I am not moving.
  5. the fire was in 1973 I have most of my fathers service ribbons, but none of the medals that go with them. I think I am missing the good conduct ribbon and medal totally.
  6. i think you will watch your girlfriend sleep on the couch. I honestly never heard of someone taking a month to move.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
  7. Here is where you need to start, also your grandfathers child might be the only one who can request this info, if they are passed it may fall to you. You may well be considered a next of kin, I dunno. Good luck if you choose to follow up on it. I had great success and got my fathers entire record. That thing tells all! Definitely cool How to Request Military Service Records or Prove Military Service (DD Form 214, DD-214, DD214
  8. I will assume he was given credit for four pacific campaigns possibly while a POW who would you call? I retrieved my late fathers records but had to go through the Feds in St. Louis where records are kept. Also a lot of records were lost forever in a fire years ago. Not doubting you mind you, just curious how TN would have that info.
  9. Just staying in practice
  10. how did he get frostbite in a pacific POW camp? Also how do you get a bring back weapon being a POW? This is a fascinating story. I love this kind of history. If you can get his SS# you can most likely get his service records. Lots of time the story relayed by relatives does not jive with what actually happened. Especially if he did not talk much about what he did during the war. Great stuff you have there.
  11. you coming or still moving?
  12. the best part of the soap is the "new hunky aroma" I mean the old hunky aroma was so 70's
  13. no driving on the range. I think my dolly will work for moving it. I am going to see about drilling a hole through it. If I can get a hole in it i may be able to attack an eye bolt. With the eye facing the rear I think a piece of chain or rope attached to a sturdy peg or piece of rebar might work. The plate could be tilted slightly forward and the rebar drove into the ground behind it. ( dunno if the makes sense or not in writing) If none of that becomes practical I will stand it up using the method employed on Garufas girly little plates. I think as long as we are using less than .50 cal on this it will hold up.
  14. if you have never been to the park before it is worth the few hours it takes to cross over Newfound Gap on Rt 441 and go down to Cherokee NC. The drive alone makes it very worthwhile. If you have never done it you really need to do so. Even if you only have a two or three hours you can go to Klingmans Dome and back by car.
  15. so anyway I now have Brown Bear in hollow point and in full metal jacket. wish I had got the tin
  16. they used a front end loader to put it in my pick up i think I have a way to get it out to the end of the range, now I just need to ponder how to best stand it up, I think it needs to be slightly canted forward too.
  17. Fixed that for ya pretty good little deal, i thought it was never gonna end
  18. oh yeah, just got back from the target store. i think I have something we will not be putting holes in now to come up with a plan to set it up and a plan to get it out to the business end of the range.
  19. I just figured a playa like you would have a young one
  20. thats mashed tators in these parts.
  21. who wouldn't enjoy the Hoff sitting on them? I let people like the OP refers to think what they want, it is more amusing to me that way.
  22. joining in is very important, it is the first step in the Dale Carnegie program
