  1. Of course I would carry in the GSMNP. Just have to remember it is concealed carry, no just carry like in TN. I agree with SUNTZU about two legged critters, not so worried about the four legged ones.
  2. I am gonna do all you Bama fans a favor. The teams I root for hardly ever win the big one. Once in a blue moon maybe. So I am gonna root for Texas. Hook 'em Horns!
  3. I like to use the terms clip for mag and bullets for cartridges. Gotta do something to amuse myself.
  4. right, did not know it before a few days ago
  5. other thread made me think of this. Was watching Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer with my 7 year old grandson last night. I had never noticed it before but the character Yukon Cornelious was carrying a 6 shooter stuffed into his belt. Can you imagine a childrens holiday classic made now days where one of the players is obviously pro 2A? And open carrying at that.
  6. I did not know, and was sort of shocked to learn that this was the first Heismann Trophy to a player from Alabama. That's hard to believe.
  7. emotion is emotion
  8. just went out and tested the new to me 1911 mag. The gun cycled and went bang everytime. Also tested one I had bought at the last show I went to, which did not work. I had tweaked on it and it also cycled and went bang every time. I am hopeful they are both reliable. Woot! Looking forward to Saturday even more now.
  9. One thing I noticed was Ingram was crying as he accepted the award. Did not read anyone on here cracking on him for that. I will dare say that while it is a great honor for Imgram and Alabama, it may be the kiss of death in the title game. Surely he will be on the cover of SI now.
  10. oh yeah I forgot this bit. There was one table with various stuff on it that had a handmade sign that said " Spuds was framed" Not sure what that was about
  11. I am on the see food diet
  12. Spent the morning and half the afternoon at the Expo Center. Had a great time with the usual suspects. Lots of kicks and giggles. Made near 5 laps around the place. Proud that I did not bring home any more mouths to feed. Almost pulled the trigger (pun intended) in a Hi Point .45 that was FTF for 125 beans, but figured I have enough .45's already. Wasn't really planning to buy a gun anyway. Show was on the small side for the Expo Center, probably about 80% of normal as far as tables. Not too crowded but enough people to keep it interesting. Some lovely ladies in attendance too. Plenty of new gun vendors. T and T still seems to have the best prices on new guns. Fair amount of people selling FTF. Prices not too crazy, but there are lots of proud people selling SKS's. I did not see any deals on ammo, some fair pricing on some though. and some blatant rip off's, one guy had 100 rd boxes of Winchester .45 for $70, YIKES! Too bad Ga. Arms was not there. I ended up with a GI mag for my 1911 and a box of armor piercing ammo to shoot from the Garand. All in all it was lots of fun, but great company while walking the aisles is what makes that possible. Glad I went. MoPed, did you buy that M44 from a guy in camo? We looked at a M44 and it was the only one I saw, you did good talking him down 25 bucks if it was the same guy. Good enough rifle for the price you paid. I am jealous about the Hooters, I love them.
  13. So how will you learn? Developing your own bad habits, or shooting with a bunch of unknowledgable folk? I learn something most every time we get together. And believe me I get laughed at plenty. Well not as much as SUNTZU does but still.
  14. moved this post to the other thread about the gun show
  15. it is fairly obvious from looking at this picture that it was not taken in the white house. Look at the archways ( or whatever they are) in the background. Thats not in the white house
  16. that day is coming unless something is done to stop it. Muslims will not stop until the entire world is under Shariah law.
  17. or flipped a light switch to try and see where the leak may have been coming from.
  18. the found a body, assume it is the son. Apparently he was fairly well blowed up. Hell of a thing to happen this time of year. +1 on douchbag who smelled gas but did nothing. I tell you if you smell gas get out, do not turn on lights, just get out and call for help from outside the house.
  19. whoa, just had a flashback
  20. Sign me up as not a big fan of the TWRA range in Knoxville. It's a nice range and all but I only go there reluctantly. Some of the SRO's let their authority go to their heads. Range Nazi's would be a more appropriate title for them I think. I have seen some things that are really over the top. i got chewed out there once for holding a revolver vertically to eject shells. Keep in mind the pistol never was vertical until the cylinder was hanging out of the frame. And it was not so much being corrected for allegedly unsafe handling but the way it was handled. Screaming and yelling at me is not going to get a favorable reaction. I much prefer Norris where all the shooters watch out for each other. i will try to make it on the 19th, once OS tells me we are going
  21. Gives you something to aspire too
  22. I spent a whole $1.99 for some ear muffs from Northern Tool Supply. They work fine and the ringing in my ears is not really that bad The information OhShoot supplied is spot on
  23. "will never be" is an awful long time. These things go in cycles, USC was terrible for a long time, Miami has been in a downward spiral, FSU not so good anymore. Penn State was absolutely terrible for how many years? I am a firm believer of what goes around comes around. FWIW all the losses this year were by 7 points or less. A defensive stop at the end of all those games would have resulted in different outcomes. just saying....
