  1. sometimes it is good to be a poor SOB
  2. I was at the dentist getting a temp crown glued in. The dental assistant stuck her knee right into my gun as she was assisting Dr. Pain. I know she knew what it was, but she did not skip a beat, bring it up or do anything odd. Her knee hit right where the grip meets the business part of the gun. Can't imagine anything else it could have felt like. She did look at me right when she did it, kind of how I figured she knew. She did not move her knee either. Asked me later if I was a hunter too.
  3. I am suprised I did not know that. mine is a 4 stroke liquid cooled, nephews buddy had a 400. That thing flew. He blew his up too. lesson learned the hard way, as usual. I am guesing that is what I will find in the carb
  4. nothing to show off? Are they guns? Then show them:tough:
  5. don't answer a question with a question
  6. if that is true it probably was in Oak Ridge
  7. is this anywhere mainstream?
  8. might not be funny, but certainly entertaining
  9. its coming, can't wait to hear how this will be spun.
  10. thanks, will use starting fluid carefully. Does the WD40 fire the motor or clean it the carb?
  11. I have a Granite Safe. Made in the U.S.A.
  12. you have knowledge, you need to visit this weekend.
  13. I have always gotten walk behind mowers at yard sales or on the cheap somewhere. Need a new one, the last one rotted so bad the motor had virtually nothing holding it up. Maybe I will actually get a NIB mower this year. Wouldn't that be a treat. My mother in law used to constantly bring over old weed eaters, she even bought a chainsaw, I told her no more. I have good stuff that will not need replacing in my lifetime.
  14. I still can't believe the Trail Boss would not start, it always starts. The other one was the one I had concern over, and it fired right up. That Scrambler is a beast, it would be better suited for some fearless kid.
  15. petcock? is that the fuel valve?
  16. What kind of weedeater? If I buy new I buy Stihl. But that could be a thread of its own. I actually had turned the gas to reserve when I was trying to start it, I never turn it to off. I am sure parts need to come off to get at the carb. I am hopeful that starting fluid might coax it to life.
  17. thanks for all the ideas guys, I can't wait for the weekend to try it again. To be clear, I am jumping the quad off of a battery charger on the "start" setting. The battery is DOA big time, been dead for a couple of years. If a new battery may help I will swap in the one I just bought Saturday. It had plenty of crank, just no start. I could not hardly believe it did not start. Them things are fun and can be very useful, but they are a never ending road of maintainance and repair. And that does not count rolling them and the repairs that come from those tricks. LOL I actually enjoy fooling with the things, but I am not sure I am ready to rebuild the carb. If I can get the thing to fire I will put some gumout in the tank and ride it for a while to get the fuel out of the tank. Can I pull the plug, put it back in the plug wire and crank it to see if it sparks? ( does that make sense?) Anyone know the gap for the plug. I think I have it at about .30. Aside from it being black the plug looked good, it is not burnt down or anything.
  18. thats not the answer I was hoping for, LOL
  19. what will remove varnish if that is the trouble?
  20. what do you want with a quad that doesn't run? LOL When it runs it is a good machine. I like it mostly because I can pull start it normally without having a stroke. Trying to pull start the Scrambler 500 4x4 results in stroke, heart attacks and very sore hands from the handle ripping out of my fingers. I keep that one working off the battery at all costs, LOL. I have no idea why I have two four wheelers anyway. they both never earn their keep anymore.
  21. I dunno if the gas is bad but I would not be suprised if the lines are gunked up. I had it running a month of so ago and it is the same gas. I guess that gas was put in sometime last summer. Never had this trouble with it before. It always has started even when a few months have gone by between starts. Now assuming the lines are clogged with gunk are there any tips for cleaning them. I hate the thought of taking it to Polaris to have it fixed. I did not add any gas to the tank as I kinda figured at some point the tank is going to have to come off, it is maybe 1/4 full now. meant to add, can I just spray the starter fluid down the intake where the air filter goes on? Or do I need to get to the carb to do it?
  22. That is far from the stupidest thing I have seen on facebook
  23. what do you call it?
  24. it is not the same party as it was 25 years ago. It is very similar to the republican party though.
