I would say it is about time for a shoot. It has been a while since we have had a big get together. We need a place and a date. Anyone know a good spot ( private property maybe) a lot of people can shoot? Anyone interested in hosting? If anyone has suggestions toss them out here and lets banter them about.

I love the gun shows, they get crowded sometimes. But imagine that, hundreds of like minded people wanting to go look at and fondle firearms. Kinda funny too, but gun shows make me feel like I am in a very safe place even if it is crowded. I can't say that for a lot of other situation where there are lots of people. Good deals can be had, no one forces anyone to overpay. Yep I love them.

sounds like a good deal and a step in the right direction to repair the sour relationship some people seem to have with the place. -
Anybody shoot older military rifles?
Mike.357 replied to roverboy's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
there is nothing for me more fun that shooting the milsurps. But unlike the OP I refuse to neglect the .22's and shoot the heck out of them too. -
I have forgotten more about being grumpy than most people have ever learned.

nice posts OS. ( and I am not being sarcastic) The politicos have sold "we the people" out at every chance. I pretty much see no point in voting any more. We get choices that really are not choices and where any candidate really is not any better than the others. The system is fubared. Time to end this country as it is now.

I am not sure why the 3.8 is sounding popular. For concealing the butt of the gun is what matters and the 3.8 and service model have the same size butt, don't they?

not everyone sees the NRA as the end all and be all of gun rights.

yep, the guy is driving in from Michigan. There is absolutely no reason or need to have a handgun on a car trip like that.

Test Results Sickness Quotient: 68% Hmmm, your Sickness Quotient of 68% is a little worriesome. Detailed Diagnosis Interpersonal Insights Your sense of self-entitlement means you're probably the kind of person that pulled the wings off of butterflies when you were little. You are utterly incapable of meaningful relationships, which is probably a good thing since you're a horrible bore under the best of conditions. Job Performance & Attitude Your work is of so little value they should just put a shredder in place of your Out basket You work very slowly. In fact, if you went any slower you'd be in reverse. Personality Insight Your personal motto is "What doesn't kill me makes me stronger." Wrong. What doesn't kill you usually makes you hurt all over and go "Owie!"

this may well be shoved down our throats. Of course it is for our own good . And as bad as this health insurance scam makes me feel, I really fear this is not the endof the line. They have many more ideas on doing what is best for us all. Yep big brother knows what's best for me better than I do.

So me and my son went gun shopping Thursday. It was a lot of fun. How could it not be? Sunny AZ, guns, more guns, bullets, more bullets, gun accessories. What's not to love? We were shopping for a handgun for him and a long gun. (either shotty or .22) I had done some research on the internet about local gun shops. Well local to him anyway. Found a couple near Mesa that had good reviews. I picked one called AJI Sporting Goods in Apache Junction. I also had another store as a back up in case AJI was overpriced or did not have enough selection. Selection and price was not a problem. He wanted a 9mm, as he had shot a couple a few weeks ago with his buddies. We walked into the store about 15 minutes after they opened. The clerks there acknowledged us but let us in peace to browse. I like that. wait until I seek help, always works for me. The store had a great selection of handguns, all kinds. Old used stuff, NIB from most of the major gun makers. We had discussed his needs and wants previously. He has not shot a lot so I wanted him to look at pistols that are safe and reliable out of the box, and also have a fairly simple manual of arms. We told the clerk we were ready for some help, I aksed him to show us the XDm, Glock, M+P, and a CZ ( just for comparison). The clerk did not rush us at all, spent ample time letting us compare, and helped us make an informed decision. My son is now the proud owner of a XDm in 9mm, a full size service model. 19+1. He got a real good price. I had also looked at their .22 offerings but did not find what we wanted. We ended up going to of all places, Walmart and picked up a simple Savage .22 bolt rifle with a polymer stock. I will tell the Walmart story in another post when I have time. It was a hoot though. But back to AJI. They had a great selection of milsurp rifles. I wanted to pick up a Mosin Nagant to take and shoot with him that day. I was just going to leave it at his house. I saw a Chinese marked 91-30, but the bolt did not match the receiver so I passed on it. Settled on a pretty good looking hex receivered model. I filled out the 4473 and he called it in. I was "delayed". The clerk told me that he was not suprised. He guessed that almost 75% of out of staters get delayed. He took my phone number but I have still not heard back. At any rate I told him it was not a big deal and I was sorry to have caused him work that ended in no sale. He was not put out in the least and told me not to worry about it. I pretty much explained that if he did not get the approval in an hour or two to just let it go. So no new 91-30 for me. But it all worked out great anyway. We went shooting ( that too in another post when I find time). Shot the crap out of the XDm9 as well as the Savage bolt .22. What a shooter that rifle it. No accu-triger but I think it shoots better than my Savage bolt .22 that I have done work on to accurize. So that is our pistol buying experience in a nutshell. It was a real good day!

At one time unions served a very useful purpose. I am not so sure anymore. And definitely there should be no company that is forced into unionization, certainly noy by the man. As for me picking UPS over Fed EX or the other way around, in all of my near 52 years I have never had any trouble from either one, Always have great service and their drivers in every case have always been very pleasant to deal with.

Bullock is atractive, kind of in the girl next door kind of way. I was always inpressed that she never caved to the Hollyweird pressure of body modification. As for tat girl, she is nice looking enough I suppose, but I have NO respect for a woman that run around with a married man, ( and visa-versa) Bullocks husband ought to be tarred and feathered. Not really in his defense, but I am sure any of us would be tired of her crap too. ( tired of her crap can apply to any woman)
