  1. Mark, do you have a date when you will be home? I would be willing to help in any way I could. Weed eating, hammering, whatever.
  2. Mark, any thoughts on when the waters may recede? When I started this thread I had April or May in mind to leave ample time for people to make plans on attending.
  3. Strel, your post reads like they are doing me some kind of favor. Unless I am mistaken it is my tax dollars paying for all of this. So in reality the gov't does very little for me.
  4. I think this might be the best post I have read all day
  5. Boortz is the shiznit ( I used shiznit for the enjoyment of those that think certain words should only be used by certain age groups )
  6. I dunno Leroy, I am pretty sure what Red said in 1978 was a lot different than what he would say today. I am going to go out on a limb and say Red would be on our side at this point. Red was a veteran, a gun owner, a beer drinker, and a family man. He certainly was not a socialist.
  7. I like this so much I am putting it in mine. Hope you don't mind me stealing your idea here. I am also going to include the pre census letter I recieved as well as the postcard that came today when I return the census form ( mostly left blank). They can have those back.
  8. I just watched it, actually cued it up again. The story of the First Marines is worth telling and worth being told and retold. I particularly enjoyed the scene where the Marine's pilfer the Army's supplies during the air raid. They popped a lid on a crate of Garands and one of them had a huge ding in the stock right in the same place mine does. What Basilone did the night his actions warranted a CMH was incredible. I do admit I feel a tinge of guilt in watching this. Is it supposed to be enjoyable? Bonus points for anyone who knows why the airfield on Guadalcanal was named Henderson Field. No fair using a search engine.
  9. I am to the point that about anything the .gov thinks is best for me I am against across the board.
  10. As long as beer remains flavorful and tasty I don't give two craps about global warming.
  11. I bet I have used the F bomb four times today. Crap, I now have something in common with that a-hole Biden. I need to invent a new cuss word.
  12. I want to know why you can't bring ammo into a bank? This kind of baloney just confuses people. There is no law in TN that someone can't carry a gun or ammo into a bank. I know of no law that would prohibit even someone without a permit from taking an unloaded gun, and ammo into a bank to put into a safety deposit box.
  13. Thats why we have chicken and beef, or apples and oranges. Not everyone likes the same things.
  14. Brother post whore, lol
  15. thanks for the tip on the Mining Camp Eddie. We ate there Saturday and it was freaking really good. And going there put me right about at the base of the Superstitions. I looked for the lost gold mine but had no luck, LOL Going to try again next time.
  16. I can go either way shooting, not sure which eye is dominant, they both seem to work the same. I am lefty and pretty much shoot lefty. I practice shooting with both eyes open. Dunno, maybe that holds me back some.
  17. Can't believe this thread died down. Was there not a new episode Sunday night? Assuming there was I am going to watch it tonight with On Demand. Can't wait to get caught up on it.
  18. back in glorious east TN. Good to be home. Never made it north, south or west of the Phoenix metro area. Did all of our sight seeing out in the Tonto National Forest and around the Superstition Mountains. When I get a chance I will post up some pics of the scenery. Going to Rio Salada to shoot was the highlight of the trip for me. I would have gone and done that every day if I had been allowed to.
  19. there is basically no difference between the two parties. There is a lot of lip service from repub's wanting you to believe they are different. It was very easy for every republican to vote no on the health care train wreck. The no votes made absolutely no difference at all.
  20. it may well not take that long.
  21. I would never judge anyone based on tattoo's. But personally I would not get involved with some bimbo that has face tat's.
  22. words to live by. And this motto has served me well during 30 odd years of adult life.
  23. I believe detail stripping is over rated. There are many products that will clean about just as well. I like foaming action cleaners. They drip dry and seem to leave no residue. I have some pistols I have detail stripped and afterwards I wonder why I did it as there was no real benefit.
  24. I really like the slide/frame color combination. If I bought another 1911 I am guessing a Springer would be high on the list.
