  1. if I ever get pulled over or whatever and the cop asks for my gun I am going to use this line. ( assuming I am not fearful he is going to shoot me for asking)
  2. I haven't kept track of it for ages. On an average day at the range I might shoot 50 to 100 rounds of centerfire total between several guns. Mostly shoot .22's, it is just as satisfying.
  3. I had some out in the woods last night, they were yelping and every dog on the ridge was barking. Never hunted them but an old guy at the store a few years ago told me a .22 through the lungs works just fine.
  4. If people knew where you were in TN I am guessing someone might chime in to where you can get some.
  5. to be clear to all of my military friends, this is not my implication. i have the utmost respect for all of you and not joining back in the day is my only real regret in life.
  6. when the kids were little and caught them they would smear the glowing part of the bugs on their faces like war paint. Half the kids on the street would be running around with glowing faces, the other half running in terror over the carnage.
  7. If it was someone here who has been an established member and I have had some sort of positive interaction with prior to the gun sale I would probably trust them to mail a "good" check. I once sold a rifle to a fine member here who lives quite a ways from Knoxville. He paid in installments, I received a couple of installments before sending the rifle and he sent the rest after I sent the rifle. The rifle was hand delivered by another member not involved in the sale other than being a delivery guy in the deal. I never worried a moment about it and I doubt the buyer gave it much worry either. It's all about having trust between the buyer and seller.
  8. I am suprised this is the first I ever heard of it. I am sure we had that catalogue in the house.

    The Mens' Room

And this is why personal phone conversations should not take place in public areas. I about can't stand people with their little blue tooth thing in their ear walking around yapping. whenever possible I like to look at them and make it obvious I am listening closely. This story is great, hope it is not just a joke.

I am scared of F11, don't know how to get it back to the way it was
  11. Just went outside to water the trees, and they're back. I love lightning bugs.
  12. if that stuff is true it is no wonder you all are half nuts.
  13. boondoggle. I don't know anything abuot your convention center, but the one here in Knox is a boondoggle too. Really I just like that word, yanno. Boondoggle
  14. what Jack said.
  15. Find something to do, life is not a rehearsel for something else.
  16. If any of you are/were Marines, the Gunny only has one stripe on the bottom. What do the bottom stripes signify? He seems like one bad ass SOB. Also loved his campaign hat.
  17. when I lived in Florida and used to dive I spit on the lens, wiped it around and rinsed it off. Dunno if that works on shooting glasses though. Don't breath so hard, it might help

so what happened, never knew F5 was a reload button. Learn something new every day.
  21. been there done all that. When the kids lived with us the 2.5 year old was having fun acting like he was a dog. He crawled around barking, then took to lapping at water out of the dog bowl, all very cute. Cute until he got a mouth full of water and decided to spit it onto my wife's laptop computer. Luckily it only fubared the keyboard. He also used to like to play under the dining room table, he called it his house under there. That was all good until he got a hold of a container of powdered sugar and dumped it all over the carpet under the table, told Grandma he made it snow. Grandma was not happy. Teeth marks on the dining room chairs, water flooded from the bathtub all over the place as he pressed his little hand over the spigot. There was water literally running out of the heating A/C vents in the basemtn from that one. At least he never played with fire. The kids name really ought to be Damien.
  22. what's yours is hers, and what's hers is hands off. Don't they explain that in TN when you get married?
  23. +1 the last mess of years, aside from this tax year I have owed, mailed the check on the 15th
