    1960s

It was a better time, I would be happy to actually be stuck in 1967. The country has gotten worse since then, not better. thanks for posting it.
  5. I think that bear had obviously lost fear of humans and that is why they put it down. When we were in Gatlinburg last Sept. almost everywhere we went in the park we encountered bears. We even were lucky enough to be near attacked by Yogi and BooBoo over our picnic basket. The bears we encountered in the park look fat and healthy, but the ones by the cabin were scrawny. I was told that is from the difference between garbage picking bears and regular wild bears. I don't care to ever come across another one period. They are near a nuisance. if you see a bear on a trail back the heck away, make a lot of noise, and make yourself appear as big as possible.
  6. that is not a good parallel. What has changed on the 1911 since 1911 that really matters? Some sight technology maybe?
  7. Garufa shot some Sellyour Bullet through my RIA 1911 yesterday. There was one fail to feed. Not sure if it was from the crappy magazine I handed him to use or because he is a limp wristed sort of guy. I am not blaming the cartridge. Pretty sure it was a magazine issue.
  8. I am not sure which one of these comments is funnier I kid. If someone told that one with "men" as the topic, I would have flipped it, too.
  9. I have to dress around the weather, A/C is not really anything I see much of
  10. I did not even think of a background check. that is a good point. I am curious if KPD will do that.
  11. I would guess it depends on what extra's you want the gun to come with. All things being euqal buy what costs less. I prefer a GI style 1911, if JMB wanted other parts he would have invented it that way. But thats just me.
  12. I don't carry a wallet. What I use is a little plastic thing that folds and has a two pockets. big enough for a a couple of ID's, insurance card, debit card and my work credit card. I have a wallet but it is in the console of my vehicle. I don't like stuff in my back pockets. My knife is in and out of my pocket many times during the day. I hate coins and dump then ASAP either into a cup holder or a drawer depending on where I am at. Folding money is never an issue, what is that stuff anyway? But like I said that is my situation.
  13. they are nice looking rifles but I have a problem with a .22 that demands high dollar ammo to cycle. At least the couple I have seen at the range had to have mini mags to run. Their owners claimed they would not cycle with typical bulk packed ammo. So I seriously doubt they would run with target or match ammo. If I am going to blast away or plink I want to do it cheaply, if I am looking for superior accuracy I want standard velocity ammo.
  14. thats exactly what I had thought, LOL
  15. I suppose the Karh would work in a pocket. obviously it does for some of you. It is light enough which is one reason why the SP101 does not work for me with pocket carry. What do you do with whats in your pockets though? I have ID's and such in a small packet along with keys in my right pocket, folding knife for work in my left pocket. No room for a gun. But then that is my situation. (PS: thanks to the Moderator who moved this. I had too many windows open I guess when I OP'd)
  16. I wonder if they will stick you for shipping costs? Glad to read you are getting it back though. If it had been used in the commission of a crime other than some illegally posessing it I doubt you would see it again. Stolen guns are the only thing that bothers me about buying ftf at a gun show. I would hate to own someones elses piece.
  17. The last episode was tonight. I thought it was one of the best of the entire series. I was glad they gave some conclussion to the men who were portrayed. I was disappointed they made no mention of Gunny Haney in the summation though. It had to be sad for Sledge, Snafu and Burgie as they were on the train home. I did find it fitting that Snafu got off in New Orleans while Sledge was asleep, and there was no goodbye. I was happy for Leckie that he got the girl. The depiction of Sledge was true to life, he was at odds with his experiences in the Pacific and never got over it. I look forward to watching this episode as well as the entire series all over again. Overall I found this series to be one of the best shows I have ever watched.
  18. At any rate the Kahr for me would be too big for a front pocket, I would definitely want it in some sort of holster. But I did find the pistol a good shooter and accurate. I was able to hit a spinner target set at about 20 with regularity. While the trigger pull seemed long it was not real stiff. Its a heck of a pistol!
  19. no suprise that Purdue does not have attractive woman with big racks.
  20. I shot a PM9 today, at least I think thats what it was. OS's pistol. I liked it a lot.
  21. is Ramsey a lifelong politician?
  22. you really would think someone would tell him to get his finger off the trigger
  23. i carry it either IWB or OWB at about 4 O'clock. I always carry in that position no matter what gun it is. inside or out is a matter of how much concealment I need. Aside from the vest pocket FN .25 which I either put in a shirt pocket or in a pocket holster in one of my front pants pockets. And that is only if I really feel a need to have a "get off me gun on my person." I dunno how you all pocket carry the SP101, feels way too big to me.
  24. I dunno how I managed to put this thread in this subforum, if someone could put it where it goes I would be appreciative.
  25. I believe the current admin mostly appeals to the ignorant masses who make no effort to know the real truth. I am also sure there are those who are informed but misguided who support him. At least those people make an educated effort at their decisions. But those are not the ones who elected the guy. He went over the top from skin color and wild promises.
