  1. it doesn't matter, I thought I made that clear. I was just curious. dang all I did was axe a question, so TMMT never mind. Sorry I rocked the boat
  2. dang Jack do you not ever just take a trip to have fun?
  3. i posted right at the same time you did, and your post answered my Q If you are waiting for an invite here is your official invite to come to Knox
  4. way to go Dolomite. You the man!
  5. noticed they saved the best until last. Reading that post about makes me want to stay in and hibernate in front of the tube. i wonder why there is no showing of the "Sands of Iwo Jima"? But all is not lost I have it in my personal collection.
  6. 1200 people are not enough to guard 1/10th of the border. It is so he looks good to people who do not take the time to figure it out. Like SUNTZU said follow the cash. Well the newly printed worthless paper. Whats 500 mil anymore, like 250,000 bucks?
  7. not me, especially with the new route. I can barely find the place myself
  8. isn't there a Bass Pro Shop around Nashville? They used to carry BP substitutes.
  9. the only date I found on the Reuters page was Oct. 14 2009. If this was for real wouldn't we have heard more about it by now?
  10. I have not been ammo hoarding in a while. If I have need to go to Walmart I will check for .45's but they never seem to have them. WWB 9mm seems to there all time now so I settle for a box of that though I hardly ever shoot it. At least I am building up a supply of it should I get the ruge to run through a bunch of it. The very nice lady at Walmart in Halls told me they had a one box limit. The purpose was to counter hoarders who buy it all and resell at gunshows. She knows I do not resell so I get near as much as I want. I never buy more than a box or two anyway. I always hope she is working when I go, she is nice and knowledgable. Don't get that much at Walmart. Aside from ammo it does bother me that near (probably all) i buy there aside from bullets is made in China. I am not sure where to get the stuff I need and have it US made.
  11. I am curious TMMT, why do you post Cop news on a gun forum? The occasional bit would not even make me notice really but you do seem to post a lot of it. I guess I just wonder why you do not post it on a forum that is anti cop, or pro cop or just a cop forum. It does not bother me or anything I am just curious.
  12. I am right there with you. it is on for hours on end sometimes and If I start watching it then I often can't get up from in front of the TV. Even though I have seen all of them time and time again.
  13. that 70's Show. Mindless humor works for me at the moment.
  14. if I could find a camera I would take a pic of it. The hole is in the sidewall. The problem I have had before is rubbing up against a tree or a rock and having the gigantor plug loosened up.
  15. I am definitely taking some loose ammo with me next time.
  16. I had thought that as well, The finish/blueing/whatever is in like new shape. If I was not afraid of harpooning someone (namely myself) I would just jam it on there.
  17. I am curious if you had to watch someone make the beast with two backs to know what to do when opportunity arose fixin' tires ought to come natural to men
  18. thank you for chiming in Mark. No telling how many miscreants will show up now., LOL I just did not want a crew showing up over something I mentioned to Bill.
  19. man I was thinking the exact same thing when I read what you quoted.
  20. Wow, lot of something there. I see guns priced fairly, ammo for a fair price now, doodads and geegaws that I like to have ( for example where else can I find a little rubber cover for the open end of my M1 mags?) And I saw no jerky dealer there. But I like jerky. Knives are nice to look at and handle, according to my close friend a knife guy the prices we looked at were fair. This is true, a motto to live by. I am with you Troy. A bunch of us go all the time, we have a lot of fun. And wihout fail they are entertaining. I do not mind paying 9 bucks for admission to something that interests me and that I enjoy. Movies, ballgames, concerts all cost money too.
  21. just to be clear. I am telling no one what to do. I wanted to go visit with Mark, I do not care if shooting is involved. AFAIK this is now a shoot. Maybe Mark will chime in on it all.
  22. I did not use grease but I did try a lot of other liquid lubes. I dunno Yeah that what I am thinking unless I can figure a way to make the hole the barrel fits in bigger or make the barrel smaller. Heck probably a few thousanths would make the difference. there must be an answer. Anyone know if the outer diamater of the barrles varied? I am baffled, but really not suprised.
  23. here is a fact. I bought a bayonet for my 91-30 at this weekends gunshow. It does not fit, got it on and did not think it was going to come off. It took a mallet and some unceremonious beating to remove it. Anyone have any ideas how to get it to fit properly? It slides to almost to the sight fine, but getting it another 1/32 of an inch and making it twist on was near impossible. I have steel wire brushed it out and used penetrating fluid on it. I am thinking some emory paper maybe??? But that might be just a futile exercise.
  24. should have used this thing then
