  1. yep, thats the whole point anyways. It is not likes it's critical for it to shoot at POI. But it will be funner if it does
  2. so when I bought my 91/30 it did not come with a bayonet. I picked one up at the last gun show. The thing would not fit. ( i made a post some of you may recall) While watching the TCM Mermorial Weekend war movie marathon this afternoon I pulled out the dremel like tool and started working on the bayonet. I worked it for about an hour. Shave some metal and try to fit it, yanno. Finally it slipped right on, fits like a glove ( not OJ's glove). I am very curious as to how it will shoot with it on. It has shot a little to the left and I am hopeful the bayonet being attached will bring it back to center. I did not want any of you losing sleep over my bayonet situation for those of you that replied to my previous post. So thats why I gave an update.
  3. this sounds like it would work fine in a BP revolver
  4. I will add Hoosiers to the list of work of his I did enjoy, the rest on Mac's list, meh

    Indy 500

The 500 is about a big an American tradition as there is. I still remember when they telvised it on tape delay, if you wanted it live you had the radio. I have flipped back to it a few times and I will make effort to see the checkered flag. I would rather they just show Danica in a bikini really.
  6. I was never a big fan of Hopper's. I did not think he was much of an actor really. Aside from Easy Rider I do not consider his career to be much of an accomplishment. My sympathy to his loved ones for their loss.
  7. Ain't that the truth, I learn stuff everytime we all get together and today was no exception. Sitting with you and 70below and BubbaTN I felt a lot of good stuff was getting passed back and forth. you and TJ just about have me thinking about building a black rifle.
  8. Titan it was nice seeing you and your lovely wife again today. I always enjoy shooting the breeze with you guys. Sorry we missed you when you left, didn't get to say " see ya next time" So see ya next time. Oh yeah, your smoker dogs were out of this world.
  9. I work for a living and Monday is not a holiday in my line of work.
  10. I sm picking up what you are putting down Jamie, but I am not sure how much rem oil is burning when it is for the internal parts. I admit I had never thought of consequences of the interaction of the different chemicals more only function. I would not use the Rem on the cylinder pin, some Crisco has always worked fairly well
  11. I think I look forward to the trip up and back near as much as the reason for going.
  12. It was a nice day up in Kingsport. The weather was a little hot and humid but the sky was bright and it did not rain. I think everyone had a real nice time, I know I did. The food was delicious and the conversation and companionship was great too. We shot, then ate, then went back for a second round of shooting. Mark and Sue are wonderful hosts and it is always a pleasure to go up. I look forward to visiting again. The shooting is only icing on the cake, just being up there hanging out is fine in and of itself.
  13. Wish i could join you guys during the week, but fortunately I have a job and with that comes limited freedom Monday through Friday. I am hopeful to make it up next weekend though.
  14. Remoil and other dino oils will work on a limited basis, if you only load and shoot the cylinder a few times in an outing you are probably all right.
  15. Anyone watch this on History Channel? it was on Sunday nights originally, but airing at the same time as The Pacific. I have seen a few episodes of it lately and it seems really good, quite addicting actually. Sunday they are doing a marathon. If it is raining I suspect thats what I will be doing. I just learned something I did not know from it. A meteor collision with earth in the Appalachian Mts formed the Cumberland Gap, and that pretty well led to western exploration and an easier way to get there. Cool.
  16. I thought Eric had a .380 and maybe you shot that.
  17. I prefer strawberry
  18. somebody somewhere is grieving his death, They have my sympathy.
  19. so nothing else got shot?
  20. problem corrected thanks
  21. A treaty would have to be ratified by the US Senate. I do not think that will happen. Them guys like their cushy jobs.
  22. people who have sex with children are pedophiles
  23. dino oil and grease reacts with black powder and causes the fouling to get hard. If my BP pistols are lubed with regular oil, they will not cycle through as many rounds as if i use lubes that do not come out of a hole drilled in the earth. I have found that using Crisco over the balls enables me to get more rounds through the gun before it fouls and the cylinder does not rotate freely. not when it comes to a black powder revolver being able to cycle.
