  1. I still use bulk ammo, but my expectations are a lot lower than when I shoot higher dollar target ammo that I have. The bulk stuff is fine in semi autos for blasting away and keeping up a high rate of fire. Once the barrel gets warm the accuracy goes out the window anyway. But with one of the bolt rifles if I keep the rate of fire down and use good ammo I can get acceptable results, provided I do my part.
  2. I have been to Craven House before. There is some sort of cemetery there IIRC. Took a pic of it and ended up with a slew of weird looking orb like objects floating around. Kind of creepy looking. If you are into the Civil War at all there is a ton to see around Chattanooga. Point Park has been mentioned as well as Chickamauga, there also Missionary Ridge ( kind of off the beaten path but very historic) and an observation point on Signal Mtn. It's easy to have a Civil Wargasm around Chattanooga
  3. they only showed it briefly, looks like some kind of strapless black dress. My faith has been somewhat restored.
  4. yep Granny and her doctorin is a big plus, but I more went for Elly Mae and her use of the slingshot.
  5. okay that is twisted. And I was very disappointed that she was not naked while swinging from the tree.
  6. I would take the Clampetts over the Cartwrights based on Elly Mae and Granny and Jethro. If memory seres me right in this Jed is not that great of a shot. Didn't he miss what he was shooting at when " he was shootin at some food, and up from the ground came some bubblin crude"
  7. The conservative God, Ronald Reagan gave amnesty if I am not mistaken. He was wrong then and it would be just as wrong to do it now.
  8. it is easy to align the scope right in your home. It will give you a very basic starting point to go by. Remove the bolt. Then put the rifle in a vice or some such thing you can improvise to hold it completely steady. Look through the bore and out through the muzzle. Put a mark on the wall ( piece of tape or some such) where your line of sight through the bore looks. Then adjust the crosshairs on the scope to lay upon the same marking. It will not be 100% perfect but it will get you on paper at 50 yards. Then when you shoot actual rounds you can adjust it from there. Note this will not work with semi auto rifles and to add, yeah I am an ammo snob when it comes to .22's LOL
  9. concrete channels moisture
  10. there is a big damn difference. In TN you can buy a handgun face to face and keep it loaded in your home without reporting it to the police or paying fees for that right. The 10 dollar fee is a background check when you buy from a FFL, but the gun even in this instance is not registered. And again you can keep it loaded in your home or carry it on your person while in the confines of your property. If I want to have a carry permit I must pay, but there is little argument here that we have a right to carry a firearm off of your own property.
  11. I have not found any bulk ammo that is worth using when trying to shoot bulleyes. The Golden Bullet is one of my least favorites but none of it is acceptable for maximum accuracy really.
  12. what kind of dog has no tail?
  13. I would not register a gun if I was a resident there, for that matter I would not do it here if suddenly it was required.
  14. you all need to be glad I live too far away to make this contest practical for me. I would simply post up a pick of my ugly Hi Point C9 and win the contest running away.
  15. the guy is not even credible anymore. I probably could predict what he will say. Something along the lines of the US is the devil and we are going to nuke Iran.
  16. meh, whats the big deal. I expected to see the guy wig out or something.
  17. the bi pod is nice but I find I get better accuracy using some sort of bag. Currently I use a cornhole bag on top of my ammo box. Rifles sit real nice in it and I do not get the wobble I get from a bipod. Shorter legs on a bipod help with wobble too. I am going to break down and get a real "made for shooting" sandbag one of these days. But the bipod is more than fine for plinking. I think it all comes down to ammo and properly squeezing the trigger.
