  1. wow finally someone who did not play an attorney on TV or stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night. And your advice is pretty close to what I said. Maybe I ought to play an attorney on TV:p And the biggest reason to have this taken care of is you do not want a Lautenberg Law to reach out and bite you some day. Getting the gun back is secondary really.
  2. Strel you come here and pretty much try to show your ass every time you post. Is this how you act in face to face life? Maybe you ought to go soak your head in your private pool.
  3. I always look at COM as where vital organs are. You may not hit the heart buit a shot in the kidneys or liver is gonna do someone in most likely. Lungs and they are not going to want to play anymore. So to me basically the sternum and gut areas will suffice as a definition.
  4. My system sounds haphazard but actually it is finely tuned model of efficiency. I know where everything is at all times. And there are reasons for things being where they are.
  5. I hear you Mike and agree but I also think that if the following are evident the Dr is bound to ask about things. But of course these scenarios are not the basis of this threads topic, just a side question I asked.
  6. thanks for the response. I would say the three reasons you gave are valid to ask the question
  7. a good attorney is not going to cost that much, good Lord the guy did not kill somebody. maybe the price of the pistol or way less depending on what he was charged with. I was charged with a class A misdemeanor version of going armed, got the gun back, charges dropped, record expunged and it cost no where near 22,500 dollars, maybe 10% of that. From what you have posted I think at best you may have been charged with a Class C version of going armed. Don't go trying to scare the guy. and to add, I see no reason why you should not be able to get your gun back if the charge is dropped. And as long as you have not been in criminal trouble before there is no reason that the charges being dropped can't happen.
  8. ok Jamie, thats funny
  9. or maybe one for every thread started here about his political apsirations
  10. give me a for instance why a DR would need to know if there are firearms in the house? I am not trying to pick a fight just really curious.
  11. there lies the problem. Get a real good lawyer. Were you charged with going armed? and if so what level of misdemeanor did they charge you with? Even though it sounds like you really are guilty a good lawyer may be able to get the charges dropped. Just costs money.
  12. I wonder what all the marks on the sleeve mean?
  13. you do not tell us much about why there was a stop or what the outcome of the stop was. Were you cited for something? What reason the the LEO give for confiscating your firearm? Was it loaded, in close proximity to ammunition etc... Do you have a HCP? At any rate you need a lawyer most likely. It will probably take a court order to have the gun released to you. You may well be able to do that pro se but good luck figuring out how. I would be on the phone and prepared to pay the best lawyer in town to get it back. Isaacs can do it, he got my nephews gun back for me but it did not come cheap overall. But your post is really lacking in details that probably make a difference. I forgot to add, call a lawyer. Most will give you a free consultation and tell you up front the costs of what you want done.
  14. I can't believe there hasn't been a thread about this guy already. And unless he is not smart enough to vote for himself he will get at least two votes.
  15. your shooting looks good to me. If I can put shots into a paper plate at ten yards I am happy. You might want to try point shooting and see how many shots you can get COM without aiming down the sights. To me that seperates the men from the boys when it comes to shooting.
  16. hmmm magazines. Some are in the guns, either loaded or unloaded. Just depends ( on what I don't know) Some are in the safe on a shelf and some are in my range bag and then others are in an ammo can, I think there is one or two in my truck. Damn things are like roaches, they get everywhere.
  17. NK needs to put up or shut up. I think the war games are only for a couple of more days.
  18. I am not sure how my selling something I already bought and paid for is income. More than likely I am selling it at a loss anyway. Sounds to me that any private sale of anything I may sell is being taxed twice now. But then again the Big O promised no new taxes, so I must be wrong.
  19. OS and I had a discussion about this last night. There is no way the average person is going to send out 1099 forms, it is ridiculous. So If I buy a gun for 600 bucks, or buy anything for that matter I am supposed to send that business a 1099 form? First where do I get the form? How do I fill it out? How many millions of transaction happen annually that involve this amount of money? It is unenforcable. More stupidity out of DC. The only way it is enforcable is for a jack boot to be laid on my neck. Are we coming to this point? If so the USA is done as a country, and a 1099 form is the least of our troubles.
  20. SOP for this place, not just you being lost but everyone.
  21. why would the ask you to leave for wearing an empty holster?
  22. nothing NEW to see here
  23. lesson to be learned here.
  24. what should we have done?
