  1. how about The Stand. While it is a little more than just gov't craziness there is a lot about people banding together. Farenheit 451 was especially good.
  2. as hard as 147 grain thumps I want no part of heavy ball out of that rifle. Mine shoots minute of nazi and that is all I expect out of it. If I want to shoot the eyeballs out of the nazi I grab the Garand.
  3. I was never a big fan of Ronnie. He was a decent actor and I could never tell while in office if he was acting or working from the heart. As far as greatness, I think he is compared to those who served in the years right before and since. Not much there to compare too. I do not see him as this great conservative icon that I always hear about. I would vote for him now. There is not much out there right now any better.
  4. I will only buy Remington ammo as a last resort. The .22's seem extra bad anymore. Doesn't seem to matter if they are Golden Bullets or Thunderbolts or whatever. They are unreliable in every .22 I have. I prefer Federal Champion personally but they are hard to find around here. Mini mags are overpriced and are no more accurate to me than any Winchester or Federal bulk pack stuff.
  5. I think it can be done but takes a donation to peta to make it happen
  6. I have read this thread several times. I have debated commenting. Anyway this line bothers me That in itself is an unreasonable fear. it is like my three year old grandson who is deathly afraid of loud noises. There is no persuading that it is not harmful or dangerous. There is no logic at all to be afraid of the noise. Your wife has a ridiculous fear of the noise from a gun. I don't know how you get her past it. A rational adult should not have that fear. a three year old might should have that fear. I do not see her having a carry permit, and if she does have one I would not think she will ever be able to defend herself should the need arise. She may well end up as one of those who have her gun taken from her and used against her. She might be better off curling up in the fetal position and hoping for the best. Sorry if it sounds harsh, just trying to be honest. Enough people have told you the truth about using a .22 revolver to test with.
  7. if you bought it as a collector item the defacing would hurt the value. But if you try to repair it or cover it up more it will devalue it more. It is still an original USGI issue pistol. Shoot the crap out of it and don't worry about it.
  8. people like us, who make our way on our own are the ones that are pissed. The free loading masses don't want things to change. I think there are more of them than of us.
  9. i cannot see how an electric current would make a firing pin release and strike a primer. Other than the possibility of violent twitching and inadvertantly hitting the bang button with part of your body.
  10. if they want to keep me out then slap a gunbuster sign right by the door handle. Other than that I doubt I will see it. And by no means should anyone point out the lack of proper signage to a place that lamely attempts to post.
  11. I shoot where I live. I called the sheriffs office before building a backstop and was told there is nothing in the county of Knox that prohibits gunfire on your property unless you are shooting at dwellings or other places where people might be gathering. The proximity of buildings has nothing to do with it really. The only complaint I could see being made that might stick would be for noise. But if you are reasonable about when you shoot I think this point is also moot. Hard to complain about noise from gunfire as long as it is not early morning or at night.
  12. looks like the ER did a real nice job on you, should only be minimal scarring. I dunno but I have been told that a ragged cut is easier to stitch up cleanly, more so than a smooth slice is.
  13. I cannot honestly say I have never seen legal signage anywhere.
  14. 100 dollar bills don't scare me, I am lucky to have a couple of tens and a twenty in my pocket when I keep my cut of the payroll.
  15. private range that gets over run with idiots sometimes. Far from private. And so you know the 100 yard range is closer to 125.
  16. those are words to live by
  17. just use the bayonet because it is much cooler looking sticking out there.
  18. you are lucky, could have been much worse. Chainsaws can be very dangerous. I only use mine when there is no other choice. some years ago my younger brother hit his thigh with a chain saw. Cut through the pants but did not leave a scratch on his skin. Miracles can happen.
  19. thats awesome, congrats on the new baby. My son and his wife are trying to make another one, I am really rooting hard that it will be a girl.
  20. You have a wonderful Britich accent in your writing though. Hard to distinguish which country it is from. And I have no sympathy. I am from Ohio and have to take crap for being a Yankee when I am actually a damn Yankee. ( stayed and bought property ) When I lived in Illinois and Florida I was accused of being a hillbilly. There is no way to win, yanno. Cheerio
  21. Don't be hating just because the voices are not speaking to you. Before I was a gun people I always wondered why those wearing photog vests had no cameras. And you are right about people not noticing. Freaking people are generally out in the ozone somewhere.
  22. CSN&Y -Four Way Street Eagles -Desperado. Beatles -Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Peter Frampton -Frampton comes alive Woodstock J. Geils Band - Live Little Feat - Waiting for Columbus Led Zeppelin- Led Zeppelin II Bob Marley's - Greatest Hits Soundtrack from the movie Almost Famous it is very hard to just pick ten
  23. another in a laundry list of reasons that makes me ask, why are we in the UN? the NWO is coming, it is up to the US to stop it.
  24. I just ride up 640 flipping the bird. If they were going to use the speed sensors to give tickets they would have had me by now too.
  25. right been going on for years but has gotten way out of control since the annointed one took over. And I am not so sure November really matters. One side is about as bad as the other.
