  1. I think you are mistaken on having a locking suitcase. You cannot fly commercially with a checked bag that is locked.
  2. the voting is strong in favor of the Ruger. And thats probably what I will end up carrying, I have a speed loader for it but it is not all that speedy to use really. if I feel a need for more rounds the .32 is a decent back up piece. to go along with it. I like the RIA a lot. I had been hoping to run some hollow points through it this weekend but deer hunting at Norris put that on hold. And I am a big fan of that slow moving slug. It's a dilemna alright. Prolly good to go with either.
  3. not lookin good for the str8upkillrz, Magnums smacking you down.
  4. 500 bucks cash involved.. Others worth well less than 100 bucks less than that. I tell you it about killed me to sell the XD. what a great service pistol.
  5. you hit it on the head. Capacity. I used to think 5 rounds was plenty until I read Mike's thread where he has three guns, a rifle, and a combat load of bullets. Now I feel seriously underarmed. Another big plus for the Ruger is it is so concealable it is ridiculous. At any rate I am turning the Beretta into a back up.
  6. I sold my xd45, had to do it. That leaves me with carry options of a Beretta in .32, a Hi Point C9, a SP101 in .357, or a RIA 1911 A1. The .357 seems the obvious choice to me. Lots of bang and penetration, very little chance of it going bang except from me pulling the bang button. Downside is five rounds. The downside concerns me. Especially after reading Mike's thread and his endless amount of rounds. RIA 1911, leaves big ass holes, and it has always cycled and fired using the JHP ammo I have. Probably 150 rounds of this JHP though it. Other than that it is about 95% reliable using range ammo. I have two good mags that hold eight rounds. I am comfortable carrying cocked and locked. The Hi Point C9 is good to go. But I have never put JHP ammo through it. I guess I am comfortable carrying FMJ 9mm ammo. The Beretta is 100%. Feeds everything and the rounds have always been on target. I only have FMJ rounds. not messing with hollow points in .32 auto. I have been carrying the Beretta in warm weather. It is a great gun. but I also think it is mostly a great back up weapon. I am concerned about penetration in cold weather when people wear more and heavier clothing. So what should I be carrying? I reserve the right to overule the poll.
  7. I got one this morning. Some file titled ie.tag. something or other tried to happen. I run internet explorer fwiw. Only happened one time and I probably clicked on twenty odd links.
  8. looks great with those grips
  9. if was gonna do something that looked as ghetto as that I would stick to a two liter bottle.
  10. I am in agreement with your wife. I have all there stuff on vinyl, but I have had ll three times on LP and still have it on CD. And I still get mad if I hear Heartbreaker on the radio and they do not play Living Loving Maid along with it.
  11. pretty subjective subject matter, LOL Makes it good. huh? I gotta go with Townsend or Hendrix.
  12. I find it interesting that two of you lost interest with Zeppelin after the self titled album when Led Zeppelin II or Physical Graffiti are generally regarded as their best stuff. And I was deeply torn between Deep Purple and GFR as the greatest rock band ever. Rock reached a pinnacle in the early to mid 70's.
  13. If I had to choose a best concert ever seen I would have to go with Springsteen in 1980. That guy could have told everyone to stand on their heads and 18,000 people would have done it.
  14. Norris rifle range is closed on Sept. 25, 2010. I called just now you lazy bastards. Guess shooting is off.
  15. I saw Zep in 77, bought a scalper ticker for 25 bucks, face value was 7.50. They were loud as all get out. Probably the loudest concert I ever attended. Plant seemed very lacking. Maybe he had an off night. Glad I saw them, but I don't think you missed much.
  16. Grand Funk Railroad
  17. anything is possible I guess, but this story does not sound right. I have a hard time believing none of the three patrolman knew the man was legal. ( assuming he was telling the truth in his blog post.)
  18. i gotta ask, what makes a pocket knife worth that much money?
  19. wow, can't hardly believe this has not been discussed in the last week. Can't go wrong with any kind of Ruger, revolver or semi auto.
  20. I am guessing that firing those guys will not be an option that is on the table. The video is fairly humorous, especially towards the end.
  21. thats crazy, i thought that was what was being depicted too until I knew it was a bear.
  22. i counted 11 the first time and while I did not recognize it as moonwalking i did see the bear go thought the middle of the ball players. Did not recognize it as a bear but I saw the figure go by.
  23. what was different?
  24. if you make a deposit through an ATM your account being credited will be delayed. They only process those machines a couple of times a day. Teller's don't make loans.
  25. ship her criminal ass back to wherever she came from, and take her nephew with her.
