  1. popped collars kill me. Even the college kids I used to work with cracked on the ones with popped collars. And I chuckle at people daily. But I don't post about it on the internetz. To the tacticool guy at the tire store I say "well done". His tacticoolness and OC probably has prevented crime already. The warden and her mother had a yard sale here last summer. An older guy came down the drive in an Escalade being very well dressed was sporting an HCP badge on his belt. The kids thought he was a cop. He proudly pointed out that it was a HCP badge. I just kept my mouth shut. Not my style but good for him. I really wanted to ask where his gun was, he was not carrying anything I could see.
  2. personally I think people wearing polo shirts and khaki's look like goofballs. I am also not sure how being arrested for impersonation of a LEO while wearing a HCP badge would ever stick. Assuming all the guy was doing was wearing his badge. Tac clothing and badges are not my thing but I see nothing wrong with a guy wearing it while exercising his paid for 2A rights. Better that than being one of the sheeple curled up like a baby when **** goes down.
  3. we have that same sippy cup here, LOL. Working on some Keystone Ice. On my last one, gonna switch to Johnny Drum Reserve and Diet Pepsi.
  4. so lets see here. We have a guy here who has his HCP and a handgun. Assumption on the HCP part but I will give the benefit of the doubt. So he is a law abiding citizen who was able to pass a HCP class and a background check. Sounds like a good guy. And some don't agree with his method of carry and want to make fun of him. Real nice. And I would really like to see a documented case where someone OCing a handgun was singled out and shot by a criminal while committing a robbery or whatever.
  5. nothing beats walking out your door and being able to fire off some rounds.

    New truck?

so unless things change you put about 1500 miles a year on your personal truck? And you don't think it will last twenty years? I know it is a Dodge and all but I would think it would stand another 30,000 miles on it. Heck go crazy, drive it 2500 miles a year, LOL I think it will still be running at just over 100k. Why get rid of it? The other truck thread made me laugh. People bragging about how good whatever truck they were touting is. I don't see any of them being the type that will keep a vehicle for 150,000 miles. So no one will never really know how reliable they are or were. BTW my 99 F150 just rolled over 186,000 single owner miles on it. Every time I think I ought to get something newer I come to the realization that I must be nuts. I spent about 1000 bucks on upkeep of it last year. I dunno where I can buy a truck for 100 bucks a month.
  7. Ramsey says a lot of things. My best guess is that he is out of touch with the reality of a guy who is married, has a kid or two and is scraping by on 12 or 14 dollars an hour. While it does make sense on the bottom line to keep more of your take home week to week, a lot of people can't find a way to save that money on their own. Kids need shoes, lunch money etc... But if the money is gone from your check before you see it then it becomes a savings account of sorts. Even with no interest being gained a LOT of people use it as a savings device to be able to purchase big ticket items they normally could not save for. Ghooge you ain't alone. I end up owing just about every year, Ramsey would like my method.
  8. IIRC from the golf business an average club pro gets from 50 to 100 bucks for an hour, depending on the country club and the level of certification of the pro.
  9. can't wait for the movie to come out
  10. I have not seen one post by anyone who has a freaking clue what is was like in 1957. We only know what it was like second handed. I believe Bryan and Crimson got it right though.
  11. I don't fill them out. I still have the receipt if I bought it new, that ought to be sufficient. They want your name and information to sell to other solicitors.
  12. I don't understand how anyone would see good in something like this?
  13. why does the gooberment feel the need to continually stick their nose in my personal business? How could one of "them" look anyone in the eye and with a straight face say it is for our own good?
  14. Where do you get this from? Cap and ball revolvers shoot as well as any modern day firearm particularly single action revolvers. The ones I have shot have all been very accurate. I would not worry about a spare parts kit. With proper care of the weapon it will last a long time, and if a part breaks there are several places where replacement parts can be bought. Do you buy spare part kits for other guns you have bought?
  15. like 1gewehr said you do not need a FFL to buy a black powder firearm. Mail order it if you want. There are a million options out there for making purchases. while technically true, you can order a conversion cylinder for a black powder pistol that allows the use of conventional ammo withouth going through a FFL. I have a '58 Remington that shoots cap and ball, I also have a conversion cylinder for it that holds .45 Colt rounds. The conversion cost near as much as the pistol but was shipped direct to me from Taylor.
  16. there is nothing wrong with a Hi Point. While chunky in shape it is a better carry option than a rock. They go bang and their customer service is great.
  17. if the break in was done by someone known to the homeowner the video will be good for finding them. if not know there is little to be gained from it. You could not ID one of them guys from it.
  18. the only thing frightening is that you have to take a class to exercise an enumerated right.
  19. heck the two week notice when quitting is sketchy anymore. A lot of place will tell you to go ahead and just go on when you give notice. New employer might not be ready for you to start so you get cut out of pay possibly. I have seen this happen, especially with sales and tech jobs. And I think it is automatic to get sent sailing if you have access to sensitive information.
  20. sorry to read of you job loss, good luck in your search. I think though the job situation in the US is a statement to how things have changed here over the last few decades. We do not produce product anymore. Most jobs people have are jobs that when it boils down to it are not necessary. The jobs that were necessary are gone, other countries do our producing now.
  21. seems kind of foolish to even mess with carrying without a permit. if you are legally allowed to own a modern day firearm get the permit and carry. If you are prohibited from owning a conventional modern firearm is it worth the risk to be arrested for carrying a cap and ball pistol? If a cap and ball gun is your only option for home defense then it is a good idea to have one for that purpose. They are very reliable and quite deadly when properly used.
  22. Funny, i thought I was an American.
