    define not cheap?
  2. the only time limit mentioned on the letter is to allow 90 days from the date your application was submitted for isssuance of new permit. There is no noted time limit for how long the letter is valid along with the expired hard card. Did you read the thread? I posted that answer here http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handgun-carry-self-defense/51849-lets-see-ho-long-really-takes.html#post720100 or go with what dralarms said
  3. I believe all state parks are posted with prohibitions to having firearms. Having a valid HCP is the only exception. I suppose if it was hunting season you could possess a hunting weapon but I am sure it would not be allowed to be loaded or carried in the campground. So I would reason that it is illegal for you to carry there.
  4. I dunno, you are wrong as I see it and dare I say as you see it. Not that it matters really, plenty of others with your mind set on the road anyway. Do you also speed up when someone goes to the right to get past you?
  5. if it is for plinking and 50 bucks is too much whats the point? Go to a sporting goods store and pick one of what they have on the rack. what's the difference?
  6. looks like mice had a party on your block
  7. you know, smoking is bad m'kay. Anyone with half a brain can figure that out. Doubtful that the E cigs are much better. The .gov wants everyone to quit and for the most part does it's best to make it hard to smoke in public. I wonder if everyone up and quit tomorrow how would they replace the tax dollars?
  8. I concur, repeal the NFA, fully's for everyone! If the Fed gives us the thumbs up to carry I can't help but think it is an angle to eventually take it away.
  9. I really like that they send out the "letter" now. takes all the stress out of the wait. I got the letter about 8 days after I mailed the renewal. I still have it and the old hard card as souvenirs. Heck I guess the old hard card is still valid too.
  10. i guess I was wrong, I thought that those states just had not signed a reciprocity agreement. Either way I see it as a states issue, the Fed ought to stay out.
  11. here are three pics of the trees I question. I took these at my mother in laws today, they are the same as the ones I have. She did not recall them getting the red buds either. These have got to be near fifty feet tall, they weren't there 8 years ago. here is a bark shot and here is a close up of a shorter version so the leaves could be seen more closely
  12. I am not sure to what advantage this law would be? There are only a small handful of states that do not allow carry. My permit is recognized in every state that allows carry, and most states have signed a reciprocity agreement anyway. Best for the Fed to step away from this issue and leave us alone. I am also not sure how many times the Fed gets involved in issues that affect me and I come out ahead when the dust settles.
  13. TDOS says "you got some 'splainin' to do"
  14. mailed my renewal on 3-21-11 and received the new permit today on 4-22-11. And I was pleasantly suprised that the expiration date on the new permit is in June of 2015, 4 years from when my current permit expires. I was expecting the expiration to be 4 years from the issue date which was a few days ago I suppose. The renewal went smoothly, glad I mailed it and did not mess with going to Straw Plains.
  15. Uh, that should read .357 Magnum feller.
  16. I about can't stand those who wish to cruise in the hammer lane. If you wanna run to the left it is your responsibility to watch your mirror and make sure you are not holding others up. I don't care if I am doing 80 in a 55, if someone comes up on me it is not my place to be the speed police, pull over and let them by. Pass to the left is about the first thing I was ever taught about driving. And I may be wrong but I believe it is a moving violation to pass to the right.
  17. multiiple mental evaluations might be an indicator that the guy's elevator does not reach the top floor.
  18. you might be right about them trees. The next night I get home early enough to take a pic I will do so. I don't recall the red bud on them though, but hell I am half senile and they may happen and I don't recall. Leaves look right.
  19. I have some black locust trees but they don't seem to multiply like crazy, weird. The stink trees are like a cancer, I use Round Up on them and mow the crap outta them where they come up in the yard. I quit fighting them off off the edge of my property, just stick to localized warfare now.
  20. I have a lot of them stink weed trees, easily get 20 feet high and can be broad at the base. They stink of you break the branches., hence stink weed. On second thought it probably is not a stink weed tree, if it were you would be fighting them off like crazy. They multiply like bamboo and are damn near impossible to totally get rid of. But the leaves and bark look very similar.
  21. i think it is actually a weed. I call them stink weeds, and in a matter of a few years they can turn into something that size. I am curious what a cut of the wood looks like. Stink weed trees will have a almost hollow core, maybe hollow is not right but there is something in the core that ain't like a tree.
  22. I wondered about the stock as you described the sling attachment, maybe I read it wrong. My 91-30 came with metal loops like you described, never had seen them and originally thought it was some home made addition. Then I read about Finnish stocks, so I assume my sling attachment was courtesy of the Finns. i am not sure if my rifle is a Finnish capture as there is no rearsenal mark on the rifle but the stock most definitely is a Finn. Let us know how yours shoots.
  23. does the stock have a splice in it? Would be the forestock where you hand goes kind of.

    Hiking Pistola?

just a shirt with a longer tail ought to be sufficient. I have been carrying IWB anyway.
  25. that thing looks worse than a Hi Point pistol does.
